Sonic Forces - Leftover Prerendered Cutscene Maps

- So i guess the developers forgot to delete some of the maps used for the game's prerendered cutscenes. I decided to make a video exploring the unused maps.
The first map (w9a01) was used for the intro cutscene. The second one (w9a31) was used for the cutscene after Lost Valley. The third one (w9a11) was used for the cutscene before the boss battle with Zavok. The fourth (w9a51) was used for the cutscene before the battle with Eggman in Green Hill. The last one (w9a71) was used after the final boss.

Seeing this makes me think of possible 3D Hub Worlds that Forces could've implemented.

I wished they would make extra stages out of those fields. So much details into no thing.
I love sunset heights looks it looks like sonic's mickey mouse universe. Would have loved full Hub Worlds with resistance in it.

With all these weird containment tubes in the Opening Cutscene, plus all the ones in Final Judgement alongside Amy in that stage commenting on how “sad and miserable to be *born* there”, it makes me think that there was a scrapped plot element in Forces with Infinite originally being an Artificial Life Form solely created by Ivo Robotnik, identical to how his own grand-father created Shadow in Sonic Adventure 2.
Thats farfetched, the whole point of episode shadow was to reveal infinite not being a robot, it was supposed to be a mystery for anyone that didnt play the dlc, and therefore the characters didnt know the details.

They could've used the last one for an extra stage, I don't get it...
The third one gave me Adventure vibes with those stairs and laders. Could've been used for a setpiece in a stage...

Of course they wouldn't take the opportunity to make an enjoyable stage. This is modern Sonic Team we're talking about here.
The scenery isn't used for the levels.
Sure, the third one was used in the boss... but that was just a platform in the air, not about the stairs and laders that you can't go to.
And the last one just isn't used as a stage period.
Do you think maybe they planned hubs?
How did you load these areas?
I want to do something with the last one, when collisions are found in Forces.

Some of these maps actually make me think of levels that where stopped working on early or unused boss areas, especially the room with Eggman from the intro, makes me wonder if at one point you where supposed to sneak into his lab, and he would have come with the death egg robot
edit: turns out I predicted the leak of the early script, as you were gonna sneak into Eggman's base and fight the original death egg robot as the avatar
Does this mean we can have our HD Chaos model?!
This makes me wonder what the point of the pre-rendered cutscenes was; The areas look nice in the game plus mods could change characters in the cutscenes. I know below someone brought up consoles but if they can render the in-game levels then these smaller cutscene areas would be even easier to display using in-game graphics.
Still, confusing, outdated style of still using video files for cutscenes aside, I think it's awesome they left the cutscene maps in the game, even if this proves they had to have rendered them in-game and turned them into videos afterwards!
Hub World, all we ask for is a Hub World and they don't bother giving it to us?

It's not like it would've made the game any better anyway lol
Especially with the physics, guiding yourself would be hard unless they used the "topdownview" attribute, which is what's used in Zavok and DER phase 2, it's mean to slow the player down.
"Hub world, the thing we complain about with adventure and 06 and they dont give it to us? How dare they?"
Some things can help the game improve if Sega actually cared for the game itself, like:
Adding more animal options and longer spine choices and all that
And the sonic model, sonic kinda looks like classic sonic but with green eyes
Maybe the game would have a different system of stages.
They would go to different areas and after an area is finished it starts a cutscene and then after the cutscene you get you rank and score and then you might get another cutscene or go to a menu to change your avatar or use settings or save and exit. And after the game is finished you can select the stages.

It seems that environment designers were more ambitious than the three level designers on the team.
F Colson The envioernments in Forces look to have a lot of effort put into them to make them feel really great.

Scenes with Avatar are real-time, and scenes without Avatar are not

Hmm... Interesting! Hope u can find leftover prerendered maps of when Classic appeared, Mystic Jungle, Metropolis and that one after rescuing Sonic!

Hi! I just wanted to thank you for putting the location of each map in the description! I was going crazy trying to find the capsule model from the intro cutscene, because I wanted to use it for an animation. It's very interesting to take a look at these maps to see how they are built too. Anyway, thanks again!
People asking for hub worlds when that's seriously the last thing Forces or any other Sonic game needs.
It would be fine if it was optional though. Not expecting a massive one, but one similiar to Unleashed's.

Sonic Forces had pre-rendered cutscenes? They all look in-game to me.
Also the background terrain in Park Avenue looks cool, I wish they weren't locked by invisible walls.
Yeah, from what I've read, all the cutscenes without the avatar are pre-rendered.
It's easy to tell which cutscenes are pre-rendered if you have a mod that replaces Modern and Classic Sonic, since those mods won't change the pre-rendered cutscenes.

I guess Sonic Team used the beta of Sonic Forces to pre-render most of the cutscenes for the final version.

These unused maps could've still been in the game as hub worlds for Modern Sonic. Then again, most people (like Somecallmejohnny) don't like hub worlds in Sonic games, so it wouldn't have satisfied them most likely. Still, they could've had these along with the level selects as soon as the unlocked their respective stages.

he first area wouldve been so cool to run through in the level and have sonic comment on it or something, i mean it wouldnt have been hard, come on. It wouldve added a few seconds to these short ass stages, at the very least. -
It may be just me, but I am sure the only prerendered one is the final ones with the armies, my reason being is that that is the only one which didn't scale to 1080p for me.
anything with your character isnt prerendered, i dont think, as it would take up alot of memory to have all those custumizations for a cutscene

Not 100% sure about all the maps, but most of those were definitely used for the flyover view for the end credits.
This along with others could of made really great hub areas where you could do side quests and more
