Very impressed with Mr. Allen and love his highly interesting stories. Wish Howie didn’t interrupt his stories and send him on another tangent. I hope Allen writes a book.

This is one of the finest episodes I have seen. I could listen to Byron Allen talk and tell stories all day. My late cousin met Byron Allen back in the 80's when the show "Real People" did their train tour, I hope Byron comes back on the show.

Why would McDonalds spend $$ on black media companies when, as Byron says, blacks are already 40% of their customer base? Like the song Blue on Black, it doesn't change a thing. I love his sentiment but I think his business sense is skewed in this case.

Look at advertising dollars versus demographic coverage. The majority of consumer advertisement is geared toward poorer classes. However, the top end advertisements are geared toward white-washing mistakes and biases that corporations want you to forget.

Go watch his interview from Breakfast club 4 years ago. It is equally good. This guy needs to come out more. Very valuable and he is good at articulating issues very well. Few can communicate like him. Hence why he is a good salesman! He has the “it” factor!

Fantastic interview and great to know Byron was a paperboy like I was. When he mentioned getting .03 a paper, I had to calculate what I was making back in the early to mid 70's. Turns out I did a bit better at .04-.045 a paper for delivery in San Francisco. Jeeze, the things we did as kids to put $$ in our pocket:-) Great storytelling by him a well!

Nope he shouldn’t if he cares for his family and his self worth. Look what they r doing to Trump. Look what they did to Obama. Bush can’t even show his face - have u seen him anywhere?!!
Nope i wouldn’t advise any rich man to do this. Find another way to assist. They will chew you up and spit you out like that. You will have a target on your back for the rest of your life. America is too divided and there is too much hate!
In Europe and Oceania sitting prime ministers barely have any security and they can go for a walk or to buy their own groceries with literally no secret service - not with any American president.

Thank you byron for the education on the 60's and the 70's... Yes it was Highly subsidized by the state and the federal government making it very inexpensive to go to college and create opportunity for oneself... of course that mostly ended by the end the 80's and reaganism took hold... guess what? we are still there man! ...only it's much worse.

I was born in 1964. By 1968, my mom and I were living in Hackensack, NJ.
My mother and I were shopping at a Modell's (They were not just sporting goods, at that time. They had a grocery store on the main floor and a department store in the basement [which was roped off on Sundays due to Bergen County "blue laws"])
It was 08 APR of '68 and I had never seen a (grown) black man. I went to school with some black kids, but I had never seen an adult.
I saw a man at the end of the check-out with a huge afro. I asked him if I could feel his hair. My mother froze.
The man bent down and said: "Sure, kid"
It was 1968. They were burying Dr. King. Newark was burning and this man knew I was just a curious kid, wanting to learn everything; not some budding racist who was obviously being raised by a racist.
Why can't we go back to people treating each other like human beings?
"I think education should be free all the way through to your PhD." I think we should pay for their beer.

What a life Byron, and I too love Redd Foxx! I do have a disparaging story about Redd though. My dad worked as head of education at Chino Prison, and Redd was scheduled to perform for the prisoners. Redd shows up with his entourage, and his liquor. They wouldn't let him bring liquor onto the prison grounds so Redd just leaves. I bet the prisoners were real upset at Redd, and even more upset when they found out why he left. 👍😎✌🗽
