Thanks for the video 😊
Best review !
These nib comparisons are so helpful. Thank you!
Thank you for the information.
amazing review as always!
Nice comparison. Is it ok to use a metal ruler with a nib that is also metal but more delicate than a ruler? 🤔
I own a Pilot custom 845 and would like to buy a #15 fa-nib for it. Where can I buy only the fa-nib #15? Is changing the nib a problem?
This is great but think it should come with a disclaimer: Realize that the writer is SUPER skilled on how to produce flex and writing like this. She makes it look easy but it isn't.
I have both of these pens and can't nearly emulate any of this. It's not how my writing looks with these pens at all even if I try to flex them.
So you would be better off taking calligraphy lessons to learn proper technique first rather than expecting to buy a certain pen and have this result, cause unfortunately it won't 😂 tools are great, but only in the skillful hand.
That said my FA 15 (743) is an amazing daily writing pen that is quite normal and firm (good fineness) in unskilled hands but provides some flex if you really want it. It's a great daily pen that's fun and precise. I love it. Same with my 742 SF. Just enough softness for some character.
The FA 10 is more a "fun" pen but kind of useless unless you have skills. It isn't a great daily writer and isn't a great writer for even more refined handwriting even if you go slow. It's a great pen in the right hands and good if you are learning how to properly flex and learn calligraphy techniques.
Just my two cents causes I know I bought the FA 10 thinking the results would be like you saw in the video but alas, they weren't. Just cool figure 8's for me and then I pick up a real pen I can actually use.
The moral of the story is we should practice a bit of calligraphy. Thank you, Arthur!
Fab.
😅So is it worth to get 743fa if I have 912fa?
absolutely.
I'd say no. The 743 is stiffer. Better as an everyday writer but not as soft as the 912.
For future writing samples could you use "jumps" rather than "jumped" to make the sentence a true pangram? The letter "s" is missing when you use "jumped." Beautiful handwriting though. Wow.
Its jumps* on 743 😅
