This is my reconstruction of the filmed session for the Strawberry Fields Forever promotional video. I've combined footage from the official video, a source from Revolver TV, and two other DVD sources to piece together all that I could find from this video shoot. I am sure there is a lot more out there which we have yet to see, but hopefully this will still be enjoyable :)
"The Beatles have gone all funny recently...don't know what's gotten into them, they ain't like they used to be."
Fantastic to watch
1:31 🤣😂 I have no idea how many times I have watched it...😆😆😆
The beatles are amazing always. Thanks for this
The Beatles espetacular, sensacional. The Beatles para sempre!
Glad you used the "Different" source from RR (It was an inside joke directed to those who complained about their logos in their source).I can't imagine what other goodies they had, great editing and an added plus for the link for the full version! Hoping to see Penny Lane footage outtakes with the scuba diver scene.
... plus other audio cassette dubs from ‘82
Who is RR?
There was this youtube channel called Revolver Records (named after the music store). They uploaded loads of rare music, previously un-bootlegged material. They debut part of the "lost/erased" footage of John Lennon making a music video in 1980. Eventually the channel was shut down. Their music collection was insane, didn't always contained Rock n Roll, also lost TV episodes, movie outtakes etc.
Sad to say I don't have that one.
John: "no one I think is in my tree" Paul: "Oh I'm in your tree, buddy".
Years ago I could only find a grainy version of this video so I always thought it was John up in the tree because of that line in the song. When the better-quality video was released I was surprised to see that it was Paul. I really wonder why.
John wrote that line because he felt lonely as a child. Paul literally being in his tree makes it specially heartwarming.
It's to do with PID.@@presto709
2:16 I always thought that Paul could have broke his legs filming this
I always thought so too!
I went to the UK and visited Knole Park - the ground under those trees is actually very soft, so they knew what they were doing.
Amazing, Adam! I've admired all the work you've done reconstructing footage of The Beatles and have been inspired to do similar work to other footage of The Beatles and The Beach Boys. A couple months ago I nearly completed reconstructing all the footage of the "A Day in the Life" session on February 10th 1967, but sequencing the footage has become a slight challenge. Let me know if you'd be interested in collaborating on tackling this footage or any other projects in the future!
where do you get the footage?
Thank you very much, Adam.
Filming the stoned Beatles in January in England must have required a special demotion at the BBC.
What ARE you on about? The BBC had nothing to do with the filming of the Strawberry Fields promotional film.
@@scottandrewbrass The BBC records everything British 🙄
@@dorkle9085 I'm British. And no they don't. You're talking absolute 💩💩💩 like Mr Conn here.
Their eyes seem normal to me.
Michael lyndsey hogg, would've directed the promo vid
Man thank you so much so cool !!
It's first for me to see this denio. Thanks for uploading!
Good nostalgic editing
Awesome and thanks, Adam....Please don't stop!
Iconic video
Good job!
Great footage
Pure fucking gold
INCREIBLE ,ATERIAL! MUCHAS FRACIAS ADAM
Adam you are legend.
Fascinating!
Great job!! Was it all filmed silent? I always wonder if someday they'll discover this film with them talking, etc. I can dream, eh?
were the beatles music videos actually filmed silent? ive been trying to find this answer everywhere and i can never find an answer even though its such a simple question
@@JFFM730 I imagine they were recorded without audio as that would require more technical set up and cost than was necessary. They probably never intended on using audio from the Strawberry Fields shoot in the music video, just the song, so I'd be surprised if there was audio of it or the Paperback Writer video shoot. Would be cool though!
@@SolMerse thanks
Cool the way John is playing part of his song on acoustic guitar over this......but in C major, not the released key of A major.
A half sharp major (near to B flat) actually. There was some adjusting of the speeds of the two different versions (band only and band + orchestra which were recorded in slightly different keys) that had to be spliced together to please John. Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds was mixed in a higher key than recorded because if made John sound more youthful.
❤
Thank you!!!may be…
Did you see my request???
👍😃
Whoa, when did those 8mm ones cone around?
8mm portable home movie cameras have been around since the early 1940s. Hitler even had one, and there is footage out there of him filming Eva Braun at their remote castle in Bavaria.
I know the recording equipment wasn't great back then but, I expected it to sound a lot better! Maybe it's just from the age of the tape causing it to sound off? Still sounds awesome though!
Different
Filmed at a now golf course, that tree and road is still there,
Sorry but that is simply not true. The part about the golf course is true but the tree itself is not standing anymore. It was cut down after parts of it fell down during a severe storm many years ago now. You have to remember, this was filmed over 56 years ago and the tree was already dead. Check out Tudor Smith's videos where he tries to hunt down the tree for Beatle fanatics everywhere. He eventually does locate the stump with the road running behind it cutting through the now golf course.
Interesting, I've visited Lennon's childhood house in Liverpool. Across the street is a golf course - Allerton (built in 1924) - and down the street about a mile is Strawberry Fields. Some reports say that John and Paul would walk through the course to each others houses and were even known to hit a ball or two.
I wanna see penny lane next!!!!!!!!!
What do I think of this video? It's not too bad!! Lol
Running backwards is not easy lol
The Beatles should've put out an EP instead of a Single before Pepper came out. An Acoustic Version of Strawberry Fields Forever plus When I'm 64, Within You Without You and Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite. Then put Strawberry Fields Forever on the End of Side 1and Start Side 2 with Penny Lane and then Only A Northern Song.
What do you think about this vídeo?
I think it's not too bad
Whats with the large different text?
Only footage is from that person
@@Fun4None250 who is revolver TV?

04:32Poor Ringo has become a victim of the project🤣

What’s the song at the start ?
strawberry fields forever demo
This song has a great melody, but the lyrics never made any sense to me.
They dont make sense, but it’s not meaningless. If that makes any sense 😂
Maybe not at first glance but If you study them, they are some of the best ones John ever wrote. Strawberry field was a childrens home with a garden where John often went to play as a child. It’s said that he could look into the garden from a tree in his own backyard. The song is as he described it himself; “a psychoanalysis set to music”. The whole part of “no one I think is in my tree” was about the feelings John had ever since he was a child, that he was different from everybody else. “Am I crazy or am I a genius” as he explained it. It must be high or low. The song is sung mostly from a child’s perspective, that’s (probably) why the lyrics are written as they are “I think a no, I mean a yes, but it’s all wrong” etc. imagine as a child how your viewpoint or opinion on things wasn’t and didn’t have to be that clear. “Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see” as a child, your eyes are not “open” to the world yet. You’re not viewing the world in the same way as an adult. And then, getting older and growing up “it’s getting hard to be someone but it all works out, it doesn’t matter much to me”.
When John wrote the song he had lost himself a little bit, he took a lot of LSD and although it changed him for the better in some ways (made him less violent and angry) it also made him insecure about himself which he then used and wrote strawberry fields forever, at that time he had probably not spent near as much time on writing lyrics ever before.
