Why do so few people stand in LI Elections?

There was NO VOTING in the 2023 Landscape Institute "elections" because so few people put their names forward. This is unsurprising. After Brodie McAllister won a contested election and became President Elect in 2022 the Board of the Institute had THREE attempts at getting rid of him. The problem, it appears, is that he wanted to reform the Institute and the Board did not want this to happen. This makes becoming president, or holding any other LI office, is a deeply unattractive proposition. If you accept the status quo you are wasting your time. If you try to improve the landscape architecture profession they get rid of you.
