- Extra credits are at it again, insulting their audience's intelligence whilst telling them what should and shouldn't be allowed in games they had no part in making.

WWII games with no Nazis? You mean like the German release every WWII shooter? It’s a such a pointless rule. German players must be sat there like “Hmm, I’m playing in 1940s Berlin as an American/Russian/Brit shooting at enemy soldiers with accents like mine. I wonder who they could possibly be.”
Yeah our government thought when I see a swastika I will turn into a nazi. Fun fact all of the censorship is based on a court ruling back in the nineties, where a court decided that wolfenstein 3D was not educational nor art, which is the reasons why movies can show swastikas in Germany. Since then publishers haven't even tried to publish their ww2 games with swastikas since they would assume they would not be allowed. I heard that the rating agency in Germany will actually at least look over games that have nazi symbols in them, and allow their release.
10:29 what's his problem with Iron Crosses? The german Bundeswehr has used it since 1956, and the german Badge of Honor literally is an Iron Cross. There's nothing wrong with it.
It was also used in WW1 and even before that by the Prussians before the founding of the German Empire.

They basically made the argument for burning dangerous books.
What I want to know is what this chap’s solution is. Does he want a shooter where Allied soldiers fight each other? Maybe he wants it so that when you play as an Axis soldier, there’s a big banner across the top that reads “I’m a bad guy”. Also, veterans/victims of war do not usually care about trivial video games. They’ve suffered actual hardship and have better things to do than cry over a dumbed down digital version of war.
Solutions aren't EC's forte, he prefers to just talk about non issues and expect the world to change around him.

Yeah, if you watch their full video, their list of solutions is pretty meh:
Red vs blue teams or framing the multiplayer as "training exercises."
They also say that you can't use historical realism as a defense for having Nazis, unless your game is perfectly historically accurate. To the point where they assert that you wouldn't even be able to have balanced, fun-to-play-in maps; If you want to include nazis, you'll have to have perfectly historically accurate maps, mechanics, etc. If you do make any historically inaccurate conceits for gameplay, then the first conceit must be the removal on nazis and terrorists.
I was going to read this website about the history of Imperial Germany... but there were Iron Crosses everywhere... (the Iron Cross as a medal and symbol in German far predates the Nazis...)

I immediately un subbed from them after this. If I can tell that their argument is " you're too stupid to not become a Nazi" then it should be painfully obvious to everyone. I used to love their content. Admittedly hadn't watched a single vid of theirs since Dan left, but had stayed subbed for nostalgic reasons, but the moment this notification popped up on my desktop, I masochistically knew I had to watch it , praying it wasn't gonna be exactly what I feared it would be and guess what? Well they didn't prove me wrong that's for sure.
I really don't fucking get how people don't get that when you want to play a team vs team multiplayer shooter games you need 2 opposing teams with just a bit of context, for example WW2 and WW1 you got allies vs axis, in modern shooters you got for example terrorists vs counter-terrorists. Just because you were put on one team that doesn't that you are that thing for god's sake.

If these people discover hearts of iron 4 I think they are gonna go fucking insane, since you can literally play as nazi Germany in that game. That means when you play as nazi Germany you are literally hitler.

I think is good to be expose to evil thing in entertainment. Because when we realized that something is evil we can understand the importantes of not letting that evil manifest.
As for trying to control on how we should talk about WW2. What is okay and what isn't, ironically makes you kind of similar to the very bad guys you're trying to stop.
