There's two kinds of people in this world. People who want to make excuses for Cam and the other are people who saw that hold on Von Miller.
@Charlie Tries
*WHICH* hold?
It was actually the Panthers player that held him
They obviously would have declined the penalty anyway.
Nephri obviously, who else would be able to hold Von Miller?
the Big ? was the illegal bat of the ball by Miller that was missed by the referee, but he got caught up in the play. Should have been a penalty on the Broncos. Listen at 5:15
Fair or unfair, that play will define Newton until and unless he wins the Super Bowl. His unwillingness to dive for that ball will stamp him forever.
I don't think it was unwillingness. I heard that so much after the game, and as a John Elway and Von Miller fan (no bias here I hope) I just don't think that was his thought process... I feel like maybe he thought it was bouncing out or something. Hard to say in the heat of the moment, but as physical as Cam has always played with almost no regard for his body... I just don't see that as the reason he backed off. Maybe I'm crazy, but doesn't seem like a Cam thing to do.
I mean if you watch most fumbles in the pocket they have a tendency of popping out, by holding off he was protecting himself from being possibly injured and being the safety when/if the ball pops out.
this play doesn't define cam newton remember what happened to drew brees on his last play in san diego?
im confused what are u talking about?
@@mritizwatitiz drew Brees won a super bowl in 2009, so what happened with the chargers doesn't plague his legacy all that much
no mention of the hold on Von miller at all i see
+Enoch Ching you mean the guy wasn't trying trying to give Von a bear hug? haha
+jcshadess you mean von was early off the line... watch it again fool
+Jeffrey Bell LMAO!!!! are you serious? he doesn't even move until newton has the ball. good one
+Jeffrey Bell lmao panther fans choking on their own shit
+Jeffrey Bell you're salty as fuck 😂 Miller wasn't offsides dumbass
Really I don't think any ref would call that an illegal bat even if they saw it, he's moving the ball away from Cam so he can try to recover it. Not to mention Miller was also being held on that play, and many other plays.
+TheECP and to be honest how often does that actually get called anyway
+jcshadess The one by the Seahawks' K J Wright against the Lions was way more obvious but even that wasn't called. Watching it live I couldn't tell what the hell was going on (which is hardly uncommon with fumbles), especially in real time. All I noticed live was Cam hesitating, which was bizarre as a guy as strong as he is should immediately have dove for the ball and fought for it.
+Evan Eberhardt that's what I mean. It almost never gets called anymore for some reason. But I will say this one could be looked at either way
yea and offensive linemen hold guys not thinking of the penalty but just thinking to protect the quarterback
You don't even know until you have watched a Raiders game.
illegal batting? that would've been the worst call in SB history if the ref made that call. It looked like Miller was trying to keep the ball from Cam if anything.
keep it away by batting it. how can u keep the ball away from someone if u don't move it? purposefully moving the ball is batting....
@@mritizwatitiz
Newton scooped it before Miller did. Panthers just make excuses.
@@mritizwatitiz By trying to grab the ball or trap it, neither of which is illegal.
@Jagnole101
He was trying to grab it, so it should not be a penalty
The hold on Miller was real.
Yep , I saw that too
+Itsaliciayall09 It happened all game long and it was never called.
+Slashoom All season long
+Slashoom Refs have been refusing to call holding I noticed. Miller was held several times by NE and Car and yet no penalty flags were thrown. Regardless, Miller was unrelenting! Best LB since Lewis or LT.
+Slashoom that's what happens when you get beat off the ball lol
Von could've intentionally batted the ball to the endzone but in that game time moment I think he was just trying to get the ball away from cam. I mean in that moment where everything is happening so fast I don't think he was thinking "I'm gonna bat this to the endzone for a touchdown"
+Brock Aband yep I think he was just trying to get it out of the hands of the panthers in the pile and wasn't really thinking about where it was going
+Brock Aband Yeah, I think he was trying to somehow grip the ball with his hand. But with so much commotion, one could try to 'imagine' something that likely was not there.
+Brock Aband There's a reason why Von Miller is so good, and it's because he knows exactly what to do in a snap of a second... He knew exactly what he was doing, batting it into the end zone(trying to play it off as going for it) meant 2 possible scenarios, either a touchdown for his team or a safety and getting the ball back... These types of players are elite for a reason, and it's because of their awareness to the game and situation.
That's still an illegal bat regardless. He made no effort to secure that ball and intentionally hit it away. Since it went towards his endzone it's an illegal bat.
+Brock Aband umm we can clearly see von throwing the ball backwards lmao i mean he looked at the ball even he tried to keep it away from cam still part of the rules lmao and the ref flops like he didnt see it. You can clearly see him standing there and then once the ball goes backward he immediately flops.
The play that ended Cam’s entire career. Von Miller is a beast.
no way you seriously think this
Cam was never the same
I'm dead 😂 it's 2024! Now baby!
Well not this play the game itself destroyed his career
If Newton had actually dived for the ball, he had a hell of a chance of recovering it.
It would’ve been like 4th and 17 against a top 10 defense of all time no way In he’ll the panthers would’ve got it
@@spencerscappini3387 your comment is screaming "loser mentality" at me help
@@spencerscappini3387 it's also the Superbowl, it's go big or go home time, and looking at how Cam fell since this play, he choose to go home
@@spencerscappini3387 Denver was up by one score and went up by 2 scores after the fumble. it was over 4 minutes left in the game. Peyton was playing terrible a d Panthers could have punted and given Denver 3 and out. Then Anything can happen. However Cam was following orders not to win that game.
@@spencerscappini3387 You're seriously over estimating what level Manning was playing at in 2016. Cam would have had a few minutes to do what Carolina have successfully done all season.
This man single-handedly broke Cam Newton. He's never been the same afterwards
Whoever Narrated this shit was a panthers fans. lol
yep
No
So true 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Indeed he was.
I DISAGREE about you saying that Miller illegally knocked ball towards end zone possibly. He was trying to grab the ball and was pressing it against his leg to grab it with his hand, and it popped out and went towards end zone. He was reaching for it as it popped out. Watch it again and see the truth. Stop reporting this.
He admitted to it moron.
no call on the illegal bat and no call on the hold, the refs let them play. It evened out and the best team won
Andy S miller was pulling the ball away from newton wasn’t trying to bat the ball in and specific direction
@@iamfreeze99gaming52 I was responding to Panther fans who claimed Von illegally batted the ball to the endzone. I don't think he did but her was clearly held
@@iamfreeze99gaming52 Just because he wasn't trying to bat the way doesn't mean he didn't does it, like players don't intentionally false start, even if it was an accident he still did it. Regardless the holding call was obvious and should have been called

+Duby exactly he didn't even see the ball
+Duby how could he intentionally hit the ball to the end zone?
I'm a Panther's fan, and I agree with you as much as it pains me.
Illegal batted ball!?!? ARE U KIDDING ME NFL!?!?! He was just trying to grab the ball, and it bounced out of his hands. Also, the hold on Miller was clear, but I'm not complaining, we still won.
we still won? lol. you mean the broncos still won. you don't play for the broncos. your just a fan. I'm a 49ers fan. but I don't be saying " we have 5 superbowl rings". I say the 49ers have 5 superbowl rings. when I the 49ers win a game, I don't say "we won the game". i dont play for them. lol I'm just a fan. I didn't win shit. people like you cracked me up.
People like YOU crack ME up!!! A true fan will always say 'we' or 'our' when talking about 'their' team...YOU just sound like a whiny little bitch, just looking for something to complain about! You were incapable of contributing to the conversation as a whole, so 'you' decided to attack someone with zero cause. GO BRONCOS!!! They are 'MY' team and I am happy 'WE' won Super Bowl 50!!! (BTW, how is Kap working out for you?) Suck it!
Go Broncos!!! (I am a life-long Denver fan AND I live in North Carolina haha I was sooo happy to rub it in peoples face after that awesome Super Bowl!)
If he was looking at the ball I could agree but he moved his leg purposely to let the ball fly free

2:21 the least inspirational thing ever said before a final super bowl drive
That dude is as effective as the DARE program.
@@encycl07pedia- he is as affective as bing trying to run coolmath games.

Demarcus Ware is such a warrior. Watching him dive for that fumble with one arm while a Panthers' player is desperately trying to hold him back might not seem like much, but I just love his desire and fight to get to the football. He recovered the key fumble against the Steelers in the divisional round, he was pretty much out on his feet against the Patriots but was still pass-rushing like his life depended on it, and he also was the one who got on the ball at the end of the Week 16 game against the Bengals. Sure, all those fumble recoveries are probably just coincidence, but there's just something to be said about a guy who seems to always be first to the ball like it's his last day on Earth.
Cam Newton, 2015 NFL MVP, until his team needed him in the biggest game of the year. jumping away from a fumble?
Yep like a little bitch and he reinforced that at the press conference after the game. He'll never make it to another super bowl and doesn't deserve to
Wow Cam is not supper man wtf
Brenton Burbank you right he is Superman
William Bua neither does Brady but you don’t see me complaining
👍
damn there was ALOT more to that play than I though
thought*
That's exactly what I said. Wow.. Von Miller might have saved the Broncos from losing.
No he was clearly just trying to get the ball in his hands smh
I'm actually a bucs fan at heart but this game really made me respect and like Von Miller. He is such a force on the field and consistent and persistent always
Thank you for everything Von Miller… mister super bowl 50 and good luck in LA
I’m going to miss him 😭😭
just as some of you saw, that big time hold on Von Miller was overlooked. I don't know how many people look at the no called catch but overlook at that hold. Also make claims about the Panthers offense lack of production and take away the huge merits that the entire defense of the Broncos during the game. The defense won the game. Not the Panthers lost the game. I like the Panthers but one should give credit to those that deserve it.
Why did they let a bitter Panthers fan narrate this video? No way that is batting. It looked like Von was just trying to rip the ball away from Cam. Also the idea that TJ was just lucky is ridiculous. Why would he have jumped into a pile of players having no chance to get the ball? I understand that there is some luck with every recovery but to single out that play as a lucky fumble is ridiculously unfair.
+hailmary7283 It's called a swarming head's up opportunistic defense. The Panther's themselves should know what one looks like after the season they had.
+hailmary7283 He should be celebrating, even if they recover that fumble, still a negative play. Near the end of the game.
I'm a bronco fan and don't have an issue with the narrator he just said it may or could of he wasn't saying it was for sure. I think it was a good no call. Go Broncos!!!
agreed it was stupid. I don't think TJ was prematurely celebrating a turnover. He was celebrating a stop on. 3rd down which was assured at that moment. Then dashed for the ball when he saw it free. His eyes and head were never out of the play or he wouldn't have recovered it. he could have easily started jogging off the field.
You nailed it bro! GO BRONCOS!!!
Why didn't the Seahawks run the ball
KarnyKraft why didn’t cam dive for the ball
KarnyKraft Because Pete caroll was playing against marshawn lynch in fantasy football
AlphaGames lmao
They almost always pass on the 2 yard line.
Dez Bryant's was a touchdown
"I had Funchess open man.." yeah, not really. Also Von Millers "bat" , it seemed like he was trying to pin it against his leg but everything was happening so fast. Doesn't matter though
4:03 Now a proud broncos fan
Musicrecords10 proud to be a cheater?
DAVID10 how did we cheat...... LOL??? 😂😂😂
DAVID10 complete fair game we beat them fair and square
Panthers fans would call everyone who makes newton look like a chump a cheater
who cheated?
That fumble/loss mentality destroyed Cam imo. He was never the same after that
every player will have that moment, watch Lamar’s next, put up over 30 ppg, over 100 rushing and lose the SB like carolina
Nah, he played well the next year just got hurt later and his shoulder was never the same
MVP of the game.
Sure looked like Von was trying to scoop the ball, how could that even be considered an illegal bat. Congrats to Miller for having as good of a 2 game stretch as any defensive player in NFL history. When it mattered most Von played his best and hung a banner for the Broncos.
love the 'play shouldnt have counted" and Funchess was wide open but no mention of the MAJOR FREAKING HOLD ON MILLER
After this play, Newton was just never the same.
Not sure how or why honestly, it must’ve really hurt him mentally
No mention of the hold on miller, or the fact that he couldn't see the damn ball at the time of this "bat"
You don't even know until you watch a Raiders game.
Von gets held more than your beloved Mack....Bronco fans know because Von is a better pass rusher than Mack will ever be. He is a great player but he is no Von Miller. To disagree would be foolish...but you are a faider fan so I wouldn't put it past you.
damn, I never knew how identical manning and Elway stat lines were in their two superbowls
In a way, Peyton willingly giving up his status as one of the most legendary quarterbacks ever to secure a win for his team rather than his own stats, is a heroic statement
He couldn't rack stats anymore.
You know he sexually assaulted his trainer at Tennessee, right? And then he continued to slander her decades after the fact.
TV Peyton Manning is a good dude. Real Peyton Manning is not.

this literally ended cam’s career. not only the legacy and losing the super bowl but his entire attitude changed as soon as he didn’t jump in for that fumbled ball
Von Miller is the definition of greatness.
That fumble, All the talent in the world cannot replace lack of heart.
Philip Rivers would’ve jumped on that ball, possibly injure himself, and still finish the game.
It's not like they would've won. They couldn't do anything against Denver that entire game. They were outmatched and outplayed from the start. It was one of the most surprising ass kickings I've ever seen in a SuperBowl. Amazing how many people ignored how great Denver's D actually was going in.
+i9oi9oi9o9 Even more so than a certain 43-8 that comes to mind? Now THAT was some tail kicking.
Warren Angub look at yall now yall are nothing without peyton😂😂
ChristianMetalFan100 😂😂
Fortnite 4lfe we are satisfied with the ass kickings of Brady and Cam and our third ring we are fine with a rebuild
So was Russel Wilsons throw in superbowl 49
@3:17 that, right there, is Cam Newton's legacy ..
I suppose when you have the luxury of slowing the replay down and watching it as many times as you would like you could come up with a few different interpretations.. The narrator clearly says Miller "may" have batted the ball toward the Bronco endzone.. He only had one hand free and does momentarily pin the ball against his leg.. With only one hand free that's his only hope of "securing" the ball.. As he turns toward the endzone the ball comes free.. At full speed I think it would be impossible to call that an intentional bat..
+Allan Greene I agree. I wonder if Cam would have hit that receiver either? His accuracy was poor all game. What if's. It happened how it happened, that's sports. Panthers had numerous chances, couldn't get it done.
This will NEVER get old, GO BRONCOS!

My favorite game with John Elway. was Super Bowl where Doug Williams won game for Washington 52-10 . This is a game that is seldom mentioned..... All Williams needed during his career was receivers who could catch ball, and running backs that could run ball.

von miller was feeling for the ball without looking so he could bring it back up towards his body, but instead he did not succeed and it looked as if his intentions were to throw it back but that was not the case. Von wouldn't throw the ball back like that!
No matter what he does Cam will be remembered for this 1 play forever. He jumped away from that ball like a wussy
(Panthers fan) von miller played AN AMAZING GAME props to him
One of the happiest days of my life
Brock giving Peyton advice is hilarious
Here's where it all started going south for him. The game was still winnable until they lost that fumble. It set the narrative on him and he never got back to this level. Now I wonder if he'll ever start for another team?
I really hope they continue doing these. These are really good.
If you wanna see an illegal bat, check out a Patriots/Steelers game from a few years back, THAT is an illegal bat. Or the Seahawks/Lions game this past season
Holy cow, there was a lot more going on with this play than I ever imagined!!
If you flag Miller for the bat, then you have to flag the Panthers for the obvious hold.
everyone should remember yelling at the tv at cam newton Lmao I was mad man
Von Miller had cam crying and throwing temper tantrums like a lil girl lol
Rivera- "unbelievable"
Youre damn right it was unbelievable! What a game :D
Sour fan made this, perhaps? Von Miller pulled the ball into his leg first (watch closely) and then away from Cam. Illegal batting is rarely called because it is indeed quite rare where a player purposefully hits the ball towards the endzone. Can any honest football fan imagine that being called in that situation? Like folks aren't jaded enough with the refs.
The turning points of two men who were drafted number 1 and number 2 that same year. Von was MVP of Super Bowl 50, got a huge contract, and won another Super Bowl with the Rams. Cam's career started a downward spiral after Super Bowl 50. His last 2 years in the NFL were awful.
I stopped watching after he said Cam Newton was one of the greatest qb's ever
+Malcom Schiltz I thought he meant that too, Broncos keeping posession to keep it out of Newtons hands. What he really meant was Broncos running the ball and keeping it out of Mannings hands!
He was talking about Manning, how the hell can you be that confused.
+Luca J
Apparently it's pretty easy.
LMFAO!
Cam Newton had a chance to recover that ball.
Instead of getting in the scrum for his teammates- he backed off and said nah; you aren’t important enough for me to do that, Carolina.

Everyone’s mentioning the batting of the ball and holding fouls that weren’t called, but what about Cam NOT throwing himself onto the ball during THE SUPER BOWL??? 😂😂😂
Denver beat cam newton
He was clearly held and would have probably just taken the ball away again had he not been. I think that makes up for the "missed call" on batting the ball towards the endzone. Either way, it was an amazing play by Miller and just down right shameful effort from Cam Newton. He didn't want it bad enough.
Even in slow motion you cant tell for sure he batted the ball on purpose.

Everyone was bitching that he threw the ball after it was on the ground, well he was being held and still made that sack. if both were called it would have offset.
Von was not trying to bat it away, he was trying to hold it against his leg and get possession.
Just shows the difference in work ethic.
Miller gets to that ball with a guy holding all over him and strips it.
Newton meanwhile just stands there and is too scared to dive for it.
von is a beast that's why he was the mvp

Miller was being so held
This time, against the Bengals, Cam (now with the Bears) actually tried to recover the ball that he fumbled.
Maybe he's learning?
my favorite part of this was Brock trying to offer his opinion and Peyton just blowing him off ‘…yep’
Just dawned on me that these guys were the top two picks in the 2011 draft. Cam got the MVP, Miller got the SB. Overall Miller’s had the better NFL career, although Cam lived up to the top pick. He was amazing his first 5 years in the league but never was the same after this game.
5:02 Miller was trying to hold the ball and run I heard from an interview.
