Song from back when there was good songs in ESC - the days seem to be over for good.
Died in 2021 aged only 65. Great voice. RIP
Gee that's a shocker !!
Oh no, so sad 😢
😪
He put on a lot of weight in his later years
Liam deserved far more respect than he was ever given. Even on an out of tune piano he performed very well.
A better song than many of Ireland's winning songs. RIP Liam Reilly.
Maybe the best song they have had ever. My favourite is from 1972, mainly because it's not in English, but this is my favourite song when it comes to the song itself.
Did they put wrong flag on 0:30 seconds?
i noticed that too
I love this song. 😍
I love the nostalgic feel of Somewhere in Europe! It wouldn't have made a better winner than Insieme, but it's still quite down to earth and charming.
Liams song almost certainly WOULD have won in any other year , but, as you rightly say, the italian entry was excellent, and deserved to win.
100%
I think it could easily have won both in 1989 and 1991, but Ireland got their jackpot in form of 4 victories in 5 years. In fact their 90s statistics is highly unbeatable with 4 victories and 2 2nds. I don't think we will see something like this from one country ever again.
Amazing beautiful
For me this was one of the greatest Eurovision songs....it finished joint 2nd, only beaten by an outstanding italian winner
Wen the euro vision was about music
For me to
Great year for Europe -two songs on that theme in the first places. Love ths song. And Toto Cutugno's.
Should have won
Better than some of the irish winners later
Well, eurosong really was something special
Somewhat of a muted reaction from the audience for what was an outstanding song. My winner of 1990.
It was only beaten by another great song....
They reacted the same way to every other song, their applause really did feel like it was pre-recorded 😂
this was before eurovision became an lgbtqia+++ festival
Love the song. I could imagine Elton John singing this.
@@caroleross2053 Yep, me too Carole .... Elton has a similar sounding voice, and would have done a good job with this song.
Love this song ❤
As we line up.
Best song not to have won.
Some people would say the same thing about Winds 'Fur Alle' ..... another exceptional song that deserved to win.
Anna przepras
Somewhere in Europe, more exactly somewhere in Western Europe ofc. I know during that time it would be difficult to meet in Eastern Europe, but they could met in Yugoslavia at least, just to include east lol 😅i'm kidding ofc, great song
Notice how the conductor slows the song down to a hault. 😂
THIIS IS INSANE WHAT
This entry finished in 2nd place joined with Joëlle Ursull fabulous "White and black blues".
He was robbed
@@fionnmoranobriain3615 Not at all. He should have ranked beyond the Top 5.
@@fionnmoranobriain3615 Liams entry, on any other year, was certainly good enough to win, but Toto Cutugnos brilliant song for Italy was always likely to get the votes.
What an absolutely beautiful song ❤
@@wendyheffernan2719 Totally agree ..
This song would have won, only for the Italian entry, Italian song was brilliant, but so to was the irish entry, pity
You forgot too quickly the runner-up, Joëlle Ursull performing brilliantly "White and black blues", a song written and composed by the famous Serge Gainsbourg (just remember ESC 1965!).
Along with rocking rool kids, this is the reason why we will never win again or even come close!! Simply.. A classic!
😪😴
This song and him voice it's amazing. Definetly should win...
What is so amazing when it's only name dropping?
