Culture is the ultimate form of Decentralized Command. It's who we are. It's what we do. It's how we do it. It's why we do it. That enables people to make most of the decisions they need to make.

Absolutely. When you have a strong culture, your people know what to do and why they need to do it. That's how we can foster leadership at every level.

It is amazing how everything is connected. Company culture is what the decentralised command is all about. Everyone in the company is a leader and knows why they do what they are supposed to . And if you know your why you can bear any how.

Culture defines the organization, its employees, its performance, its reputation. Doing the right thing at the right time, for the right reason is a winning proposition!

Yessir. Do the right thing, for the right reason, and you will win - especially when that motto is the culture of the organization.

Excellently put on all points. The practical examples of how individuals can have a company-wide effect are fantastic

A perspective from big business... Company culture consists of several things 1. the Mission Statement, which should be exemplified by the executives of the company. The company values. If the executives do not exemplify it no one else will. 2. Written rules and unwritten rules. Policies must be followed... And if you were working for a company whose policies don't make logical sense... Either you follow them or you lose your job. So at that point, I would be questioning whether I wanted to work there. Unwritten rules should be in line with the company's mission statement but often they are not... As Jocko was talking about how each individual department knows what makes logical sense for them.. however the department is not the company... And in these situations, especially under times of stress, leaders of departments tend to protect themselves and 'their people" through the typical human weaknesses. 3. Employees do the same under times of stress and uncertainty....Protecting themselves over the business. The only remedy the company has to make sure everyone is following their mission statement is to make sure the company is operating as ONE mind... AND THAT TAKES A LOT OF WORK ON THE COMPANY'S BEHALF. Making sure the employees are getting everything they want and need. Including a paycheck where they are not struggling, health benefits that do not drain them dry, events that build Unity and provide opportunity, lots of training on communication, and a culture of free speech with serious consequences for retaliation by another employee... Until a company is doing all that, the company will not operate as ONE but as a bunch of departments serving themselves.

Great perspective. In the world of business, the mission statement isn't just words on paper-it's a standard that leaders must exemplify. Executives need to live the values and demonstrate them, to create cultural alignment from the top down. And to create a company that is an effective and unified team, they must care for their people, by investing in meeting employee needs, fostering communication, and creating a culture of accountability.

One thing a successful retiree never discloses is how they got to realize that the key to amassing wealth lies in making sound investments. I purchased my first home at the age of 21 for $87,000 and sold it for $197,000. My second home, acquired for $170,000, was later sold for $320,000, and my third property, purchased at $300,000, fetched $589,000, with buyers covering all closing costs and expenses. Not reaching a million before retirement feels like an unfulfilled goal.

    I’m sorry guys.
I care about keeping up your appearances as well. Yours as in EF & Origin alone.
Not this producer, that lawyer, this influencer, that doctor, these STRANGERS, & all the rest of the peanut gallery. It’s too much to take in all alone.
It’s just that it had to be said; bc the disrespect has long since been at a fever pitch for me.
No one disrespects y’all like that, they’re too scared to even think of it. They just pick on the women & the little guys. That’s how bullies operate. Women are flat out SICK of the crap treatment from crap people.
That type of behavior is beneath you guys & I know that. You all are friendly, intelligent, dynamic, respectful, well adjusted people. I would never normally insult someone’s TBI, hell I have head injuries too.
But insulting my intelligence every day for years on end & anyone else’s for that matter, is completely unacceptable. TBI is not a free pass to treat others like crap all the time. At some point, it must end.
They won’t hear it unless I morph into splinter for a day or two & hurl all those insults right back. It’s my heart & soul I’m protecting because we only get one of each.
I would not bother to set things right with the most impactful parasocial relationship in existence for me & many others if it didn’t matter to me. It very much does.
