*Great **Latest.Bike** , good looking, good suspension and love the gearing. I've tested some bikes that were more then twice the price but not as good. Get lots of looks when riding.*
3:19 Dude finally gives how to. I like also using pipe insulation to protect the frame and forks. My IBIS Ripmo sustained zero damage on international flights in my EVOC bike travel bag pro. I’m watching how to pack/unpack, since my sherpa husband won’t be along on my upcoming Camino Portugues, so I need to do this myself. Brian is engaging, so I’ll check out his other videos.
A couple of other pointers I've learned from experience - Buy some closed cell foam pipe insulation to protect frame tubes. They're cheap and they work really well. An alternative to the airline is send your bike ahead of time via UPS / Fedex. It will save a few bucks and it will be insured. And don't leave any hardware lose in the bag or it will cause damage. Good video thanks and I'll have to check out the Evoc Pro bag.
If you do rent a bike when you travel, try to remember that in some countries, (UK) the brake levers are reversed. Here in the US the rear brake is on the right, it's usually on the left over there.
But then again if the frame flex there will be friction between those two,so to eliminate this is to have a hub or some sort of axle insert thing, like on roof racks. In my opinion this is what you should do, have something in there. with Skewers the frame will still flex of course.
Reason for leaving a skewer in with a pvc or dowell spacer is so that when a baggage handler walks over your bike and stands on the stays, or your bike is the bag at the bottom of the pile, they can support the weight. Remembering of course that a baggage handler in poor health could weigh in excess of 200 lbs. I'm trusting the skewer and spacer over the foam bag.
Johannes Nilsen I completely agree, but I don't know if you've ever watched baggage handlers or not, they're not exactly concerned about roughing stuff up.
sadly it's the same if you send the bike or components via mail. once i received a package of grips i ordered and some other stuff, it looked like a dog had it in its mouth, and some sued the package as a soccer ball. it was POSTEN NORGE but this happen only once. but a lot of the stuff i ordered from Norwegian online stores have been packaged quite well, with plastic air bags and cardboard, But even thou some workers are careless, they don't put stuff that weigh 30 kg on a small package, that's just Below Stupid. if you are too stupid ppl will notice and you get fired. recived a package to the door by ups ones the edges of the carton were banged up, but product inside was fine, but under transport under heavy braking i guess it could happen, so packaging stuff with ESP is a good idea, which most electronics are packaged in. so packaging a bike in it is a good idea I think. there will always be some stupid person some where. but so far I have had good experiences so far,but I have never travelled by plane.
I knew a kid who used to just lash his mountain bike to the wing struts of his Taylorcraft plane. He was worried that his boss might think he was irresponsible if he showed up for his pilot job this way. Pretty cool that he actually did it and it worked well. No packing needed Lol.
I have seen a youtube video where a mountain biker packed his bike in a hockey goalie bag because hockey equipment flies for free. Nowhere near as secure. He had to wrap the bike with pads but it was free. He said the airline staff never looked in the bag. Give it shot and let us know if it works.
Travelled with my trek madone, never had any major travel problems but this time I got a cracked frame, broken rear derailed hangar, bent bars and snapped shifter
I suggest you put a list of the most important stuff in laminate in the bag as well so you don't forget stuff like the skewers. I don't have a bag like that but I use gear lists in my hallway so I don't forget essential stuff for activities.
Been there twice already. Brought my bronson c there in 2015 but this time around, i'm bringing my first ever dh bike - demo 8. Yes, it is a guided trip. Will have to take it easy because I am going to Crankworx New Zealand in March 2017. Yahoo! LOL
Brian, would be awesome if you could do an update to this video. I remember seeing in one of your more recent videos you had perfected the bike packing.
Just bought one used off Craigslist for $170. Got pretty lucky...but the bag is amazing😍 it will keep my check bag under 50 lbs so I get to check it for free!
I really like the EVOC Travel bag, currently own the Dakine Bike Bag but it is simply a monstrosity. Planning a trip to Cape Town in February, may just have found my replacement bag. Thanks for the review.
Your bike doesn't have skewers, it has threw-axles. A swing arm without a hub bolted in is not that strong. I had my Yeti carbon swingarm crack by side loading on a recent trip. That was probably around the 20th flight with the evoc bag and no problems. For the return trip with new swing arm Yeti warrantied (thanks Yeti!) I did the PVC spacer thing and would 200% recommend everyone does the same. You just don't know when it'll be that time when the baggage handlers (chuckers!) Have run out of fucks to give! By the way, evoc have a subframe thing coming out that looks like a good idea.
I've used a Scicon for 13 years, case has a few scuffs but the bike has always been intact. I would never use a soft case, seen a couple of damaged bikes at the other end of a flight with those and that was a couple too many. It would be interesting to know the damage list when you were in Spain, Brian, could make an interesting video on what too take/ prepare for on potential mechanical's when abroad. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Woz! Does SciCon make a hard MTB case? Looks like just a road bike case. The only damage I sustained in Spain was some scratches to the frame and wheels. Nothing broke!
Technically it is a road bike case - but I've had my Downhill bike, and Intense T275c in with room to spare. The wheel wells are meant for a road bike wheel diameter so 27.5 fit no problem at all. And like I said 13 years and god knows how many flights (and baggage handlers) and still going strong.
Oh man...I don't know how I never saw this one. Thanks so much for this. I'm flying Air New Zealand to Melbourne in early April...riding Mt. Bueller (sp?)...and probably Lysterfield every morning. Thanks for all the info!
personally i wouldn't pack my shoes, pedals and helmet in the bag because if there is complications with the bike in customs and it getting through etc, you wouldn't have them either. at least if you had your shoes, pedals and helmet you would be able to use them with a rental bike. but that's just my opinion, great vid and safe flight :)
Yeah, it's definitely something I thought about! The BasqueMTB trip I did had awesome bikes you could rent (Orbea Rallon) but if I didn't have all my other stuff it wouldn't matter.
Takes only a few extra minutes to remove the 6 rotor bolts, rotors are fragile, and even though these evoc cases have a reinforced area for the rotors its flexible plastic, and on last trip to Hawaii you could see where the axle had been pressed hard into the plastic and deformed it, and my base alloy frame rails on bottom of the case were bent inwards between the crank and the fork, like it was dropped on a hard edge, nothing I can't bend back straight, (weighed 85lbs.. Westjet allow 100lbs, 29er wheels, are a bit of a tight fit, had to let tire pressures down to 5 psi, to get them in the sleeves, great cases none the less and feel happy packing it worldwide
samsonite should come out with a more compact hardcase version somewhat fitted persay with a huge amount of memory foam to play with instead of straping it an artillary chamber
Hey Brian! I'm following your channel since a while and I've finally decided to get my own Enduro bike (tired of renting), so I'm plannig to get all around Europe to different bikeparks/trails and this bag is the one I choose. One quick question is how you secure it (all compartments) to surely avoid it to be open and steal any piece or wheel? Thanks buddy!
That actually looks like a good must have item even for road trips so you can stuff your bag in the trunk and not have to worry as much about prying eyes on a bike that's on a bike rack while your inside eating.
Just picked up the pro. I have to admit, I am a little nervous taking my full carbon mountain bike on an airplane but it’s too awesome to leave home. It’s also nice to know that I don’t have to go chase down a rental when my flight arrives and can go straight to the trails instead. Also I am able to keep it below 50lb and that will help justify the expense depending on the airlines. Thanks for the video because it helped with my decision. Can you note a little update on how your bag is holding up or do you find yourself renting more lately?
19k subs brian, just in one year! good gob with this videos, congratulations.. is a good channel to see, good trails, nice bikes.. first channel like this who i found, greetings from argentina
hello Brian! Im scheduled to ride in whistler this august. Im just wondering if you are planning to get rid of your old evoc bike bag because im interested. Many thanks!
Also don't take any flammable sprays or fluids as it's against the rules. Also C02's are a no go on plaines. Might get lucky but I rather not leave it to chance.
That's what makes sense at first thought. But, TSA actually treats the EVOC bags very well because they're easy to handle and inspect (unlike a hard case). They simply zip the bag open, inspect it, and easily zip it up and send it on it's way. With hard cases, everything has to be perfectly packed in order for the lid to close without jamming it shut and possibly damaging something.
Thanks Brian, interesting and helpful. Even though bringing your bike is more expensive, I feel more comfortable and safe with bike your used to. Shit, I spend 3500$ on the Habit to explore new tracks, would feel strange not bringing it along.
For a second there, I thought you were going to install a hang-glider system onto your frame somehow and ride it off a desert cliff lol ohhhh airports....right
This is a cool bag! How did it hold up for your trip(s)? Quick question - do you suggest removing rotors/have you had the airlines bend them? Traveling with extra seems like a good idea or just taking mine off!
It really gets beat up and ages about a year with each flight, but it protects the bike! I have heard people have problems with the rotors, I leave them on. I'll probably get burned by it eventually.
Hey Brian, I saw that you used keepers for the brakes, got any recommendations if we don't have any lying around? Also, any suggestions for securing a bike in a bike box? Hope to finally do Rude Rock in Queenstown next week.
I actually haven't been using the keepers lately and things have been fine. No idea about the bike box, sorry dude! My guess would be of foam / newspaper. AWESOME, you'll dig the Rude Rock!
Cheers for that! Bike got down fine in the end, just wrapped the easily damaged parts in rags and packed tightly. Didn't end up riding Rude Rock, but did Welcome Rock instead. Another one for the list!
The zippers have decent sized holes if you want to lock them. There are TSA compatible locks that they have the power to open up and search your bag as well.
@BKXC what size is your bike mate? because the evo bike bag is a solid option but it doesn't take long wheelbase bikes :/ Any tips maybe ? :D The tool to wash the bike looks nice but aren't you worry about needing to grease everything when you arrive ?
I have the new Evoc soft sided bike case. Do you know if Spirit Airlines will let you fly your bike in a soft sided case , their website says use a box or hard case? Anyone?
Decent video. A little dated and needs some editing for time. The video doesn't even start until 4 minutes in. In 2020, the conventional wisdom has shifted. Most major US carriers don't charge extra for sporting equipment anymore, so renting is less appealing. Plus you get to ride your bike.
That's what I'm trying to find out, AA lists that for sporting equipment still same check in bag weight of 50lbs applies, so if your bike +bag weights 51-70lbs you pay a fee of $150!!!
Just curious what your experience has been on your latest trip. I have been thinking about doing this for Vegas and Sedona trips, but it looks like a bit of a p.i.t.a. Virgin America charges only $50 though (according to their website), so it may be worth it if I'm going to ride three days or more.
Hello mate, Great job with this video. I have a question for you. I was wondering whether a fat bike would fit in this bag. I am asking because I saw someone else on facebook (store) who did it (the tires had to be flat) and I just wanted an opinion from someone who actually uses this bag constantly like you. What do you think? Thanks in advance, man. Looking forward to hearing from you
I was thinking of taking my bike with me to Nevada next year, but then I watched this video! That looks crazy expensive; the bag, the baggage charge on the flight... I'll just rent a bike from a local bike shop when I get there, lol.
Definitely a good way to go. But make sure there IS a local bike shop that has bikes. When I was planning a trip to Vancouver I couldn't find a decent shop that would rent a high caliber bike for a week. I'm sure there is one up there but I couldn't track them down online!
That's a good tip, dude! I'm actually already in the process of checking that out, but I appreciate it nonetheless! I've got family down there, so I know where we'll be staying. That helps me look for bike shops and trails alike. :D
It all depends how often you plan to travel w a bike. No matter where you go, if you want to rent a high-end ride, you’re in for 120+ per day - taxes and everything ends up close to 150/day. If you’re taking a trip where you plan to ride 3+ days, you’re in for 500 range and obviously goes up from there. The one time expense of the bag is a drag, but to me it was a break-even on 3 days of rentals, and gets less expensive per ride day after that. If it’s 300 round trip to fly it thereafter, that’s two days of rentals. End of day, having the bag will encourage you to use it, and that’s a good thing.
@@bkxc yup. BC is the reason I bought a bag in the first place - outside of whistler the supply is limited and if you’re going to whistler you better book far in advance.
I'm sure there is some sort of 3rd party insurance available. The travel insurance I've seen when offered at checkout definitely doesn't cover the whole $8,000 bike though, so you'd probably need to go searching for a higher tier.
Do you not release the pressure in your shock and fork? The one time I flew with my bike I was worried about the change in pressure and possibility of blowing out the air chambers.
Dude...those thing pack up 150 psi and pressed like hell when you bottom down... so be sure they can handle some changes on the plane... Your ears will explode before. RIDE ON!!!
I only started having moldy problems once I started putting stuff in my water. When I just had water I had no problems. Now I do a rinse out and put it in the freezer. That seems to work.
*Great **Latest.Bike** , good looking, good suspension and love the gearing. I've tested some bikes that were more then twice the price but not as good. Get lots of looks when riding.*
I'm pretty sure you're supposed to let the air out of your suspension and tires a little
Sebastian Pinger and dropper post 😅
Yeah because where the bag is held isn't pressurised
Only tires
3:19 Dude finally gives how to. I like also using pipe insulation to protect the frame and forks. My IBIS Ripmo sustained zero damage on international flights in my EVOC bike travel bag pro. I’m watching how to pack/unpack, since my sherpa husband won’t be along on my upcoming Camino Portugues, so I need to do this myself. Brian is engaging, so I’ll check out his other videos.
Those dislikes probably thought the video was about how to fly on a mountain bike hahahaha
hell yeah, im not disliking lol but damn i thought he was gonna use some next level bike attachment to fly at least 10cm in the air lol
Haha yep!
Clickbait!
BIKERS HATE HIM
People make mistakes...
Thanks for those tips!
If you do rent a bike when you travel, try to remember that in some countries, (UK) the brake levers are reversed. Here in the US the rear brake is on the right, it's usually on the left over there.
IF the axles are in the frame will flex less, but if they are not all the way in they can unscrew them selves and damage the threads if they get hit
Interesting!
But then again if the frame flex there will be friction between those two,so to eliminate this is to have a hub or some sort of axle insert thing, like on roof racks. In my opinion this is what you should do, have something in there. with Skewers the frame will still flex of course.

Remembering of course that a baggage handler in poor health could weigh in excess of 200 lbs. I'm trusting the skewer and spacer over the foam bag.
This is sad to hear, and if someone really does this they are stupid.
Definitely a possibility!
Johannes Nilsen I completely agree, but I don't know if you've ever watched baggage handlers or not, they're not exactly concerned about roughing stuff up.
sadly it's the same if you send the bike or components via mail. once i
received a package of grips i ordered and some other stuff, it looked
like a dog had it in its mouth, and some sued the package as a soccer
ball. it was POSTEN NORGE but this happen only once. but a lot of the
stuff i ordered from Norwegian online stores have been packaged quite
well, with plastic air bags and cardboard, But even thou some workers
are careless, they don't put stuff that weigh 30 kg on a small package,
that's just Below Stupid. if you are too stupid ppl will notice and you
get fired. recived a package to the door by ups ones the edges of the
carton were banged up, but product inside was fine, but under transport
under heavy braking i guess it could happen, so packaging stuff with
ESP is a good idea, which most electronics are packaged in. so
packaging a bike in it is a good idea I think.
there will always be some stupid person some where. but so far I have
had good experiences so far,but I have never travelled by plane.
All the time Ive asked you guys how did you ship your bike and now I ran into this video!
I will be getting one soon, Thanks dude!
Glad it helps!
I knew a kid who used to just lash his mountain bike to the wing struts of his Taylorcraft plane.
He was worried that his boss might think he was irresponsible if he showed up for his pilot job this way.
Pretty cool that he actually did it and it worked well. No packing needed Lol.
Haha that is so damn cool!
The PVC on the rear axle is to keep your rear triangle from being crushed. I work at UPS, you better pack that thing good!
I always put a bash guard on my chain ring, just to protect the bag and chain ring from one another.
Not a bad idea
I have seen a youtube video where a mountain biker packed his bike in a hockey goalie bag because hockey equipment flies for free. Nowhere near as secure. He had to wrap the bike with pads but it was free. He said the airline staff never looked in the bag. Give it shot and let us know if it works.
Haha, yeah I'm never going to take that risk!
dam i only paid $30 AUD for my bike to fly with qantas
I'd like to see you open the bag after the flight to get an idea of the amount of moving around everything you put in does.
Not a bad idea! The loose stuff moved a bit, but nothing spectacular.
Travelled with my trek madone, never had any major travel problems but this time I got a cracked frame, broken rear derailed hangar, bent bars and snapped shifter
Jesus! They must have dropped it from the plane!
Do a video of you taking it to the counter
Man you need to do more vloggin on your travels!
Yeah, I know! Giving Instagram stories a try right now.
I suggest you put a list of the most important stuff in laminate in the bag as well so you don't forget stuff like the skewers. I don't have a bag like that but I use gear lists in my hallway so I don't forget essential stuff for activities.
Definitely a good idea!
Nice bag to fly the bike. There's no reason to skimp when it comes to the safety of that sweet Bronson! Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Thanks Tommi! The bike made it safe to Colorado.
Your wheels went in so easy I have rented one and it was such a tight squeeze to get it in!
My 29er wheels are a BIT tougher
BKXC I also have a 29er and it was a TOGHT squeeze
Have a wonderful trip. I'm going to have to pack mine as well for a bike trip in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Plan to do that tomorrow if i can.
Nice! Have you been before? Is it a guided trip?
Been there twice already. Brought my bronson c there in 2015 but this time around, i'm bringing my first ever dh bike - demo 8. Yes, it is a guided trip. Will have to take it easy because I am going to Crankworx New Zealand in March 2017. Yahoo! LOL
Sweet, dude! What company? I'm always looking for new places to ride!
Fantastic, thanks for the details, I'll look em up!
Brian, would be awesome if you could do an update to this video. I remember seeing in one of your more recent videos you had perfected the bike packing.
Hey Brian - so after so many years doing this, Evoc still the way to go? Looking at getting one soon. Thanks!
Just bought one used off Craigslist for $170. Got pretty lucky...but the bag is amazing😍 it will keep my check bag under 50 lbs so I get to check it for free!
I did the S&S couplers. Worked well on my first trip.
Nice!
I really like the EVOC Travel bag, currently own the Dakine Bike Bag but it is simply a monstrosity. Planning a trip to Cape Town in February, may just have found my replacement bag. Thanks for the review.
Glad I could help you out!
Brian after seeing that bag faff thing !!! I will be hiring bikes just for the hell of it on my Globetrotting mountain bike mission!!!
Hahaha, nice!
Your bike doesn't have skewers, it has threw-axles.
A swing arm without a hub bolted in is not that strong. I had my Yeti carbon swingarm crack by side loading on a recent trip. That was probably around the 20th flight with the evoc bag and no problems. For the return trip with new swing arm Yeti warrantied (thanks Yeti!) By the way, evoc have a subframe thing coming out that looks like a good idea.
Alright, I think I'll take your advice!
I'm so close to New Zealand, I live in Australia and I reckon you would like it here.
Definitely want to get to OZ!
Very informative mate! Thanks a bunch!
Good info!
Great video, it answers all my questions. 👍👍👍
Nice!~

The BasqueMTB trip I did had awesome bikes you could rent (Orbea Rallon) but if I didn't have all my other stuff it wouldn't matter.
fingers crossed it all goes through okay👍
Awsome information. Still setting that goal of getting out to Moab. All inspiration from your trip out there with the guys.
Glad you enjoyed it! Moab is a fantastic destination!
BKXC thanks for the gear response also. I should have known it was In the description but blanked out. lol
Hahaha, it's all good! It's pretty long!
well designed bike bag. Great packing skills as well.
It's done me good so far!

Very true about that, it does keep stuff clean and out of the way.
thanks man! that helped me a lot! I also love my bike and this video is great for me because know i know what to do to fly with my beautiful bike!
Awesome, glad it helped!
Could you by any chance give the measurements of the plastic sticks which go to the front and to the back of the bag to support it?
Noob question here: You'll have to adjust your rear derailleur when you set your bike back up right?
Nope, it will be at the same settings you had it!
Have you been to mount Laguna? Hometown trails check them out,... here in southern California (San Diego)
Not yet!
Nice demo and bag! I have never had the opportunity to fly with my bike, but if I do, I'm going to follow your 1st advice and just rent theirs. lol
Hahaha, definitely the way to go!
I have seen airlines state that only the bike or golf clubs can be in these types of bags.
Wooohoooo Roadtrip!!!
Yeeeeeeya!
The Singletrack Sampler I'm going on a road trip. I'm flying out of JFK.
MrWiggnuts where to?
Thanks a lot man !!!
😁👍
Just picked up the pro. I have to admit, I am a little nervous taking my full carbon mountain bike on an airplane but it’s too awesome to leave home. It’s also nice to know that I don’t have to go chase down a rental when my flight arrives and can go straight to the trails instead. Also I am able to keep it below 50lb and that will help justify the expense depending on the airlines. Thanks for the video because it helped with my decision.
Can you note a little update on how your bag is holding up or do you find yourself renting more lately?
The bag has been holding up nicely! I bought the $100 metal bike mount insert thing and I think it's worth it.
Great, I saw that too. Thank you for the great work on your channel.
Most BMX riders stuff them in like hockey bags and say it's sports equipment!
Yeah! I've heard that as well!
i usually just say bike parts
I was thinking this video was going to show me how to hang glide with the bike...
Maybe next time!
You're awesome man!!
Have you done the whole colorado trail yet?
Not yet, that's DEFINITELY on the list. But it's like 12 days??
Dude, Asheville is on your way to the 801 right... Hahaha, have fun on your trip bro. Rubber side down!
Haha, had a layover in SLC yesterday and thought of you!
You guys are going to have a blast... be safe!
19k subs brian, just in one year! good gob with this videos, congratulations.. is a good channel to see, good trails, nice bikes.. first channel like this who i found, greetings from argentina
It's impressive isn't it?
Thanks man! Glad you're enjoying it!
Almost 20k subs man! Congrats. Thinking of building a hard tail using a niner air 9 frame. Just gotta find a good cheap wheelset
Thanks man!
hello Brian! Im scheduled to ride in whistler this august. Im just wondering if you are planning to get rid of your old evoc bike bag because im interested. Many thanks!
Sorry dude, gotta have backups for everything!
BKXC no worries! keep riding! love your vidz
Also don't take any flammable sprays or fluids as it's against the rules. Also C02's are a no go on plaines. Might get lucky but I rather not leave it to chance.
Good call! I forgot to mention the CO2 cannisters! I got lucky going to Canada but they found them on the way back.
Pretty cool travel bag!
Thanks Edd!
I think it will be a lot safer with a bike travel case instead of bag
Definitely, but I think it becomes quite heavy and unwieldy at that point.
It's just a large suitcase with wheels. Not to mention the 'bling' factor!
Worth it. I'd claim my bike as a dependent and buy it a ticket in first class if I could.
Looks well packed and setup. Just curious why no rag or padding around the rear shock area? Great video Bro!!
Thanks man! That area seems safe enough to me!
Thanks Brian, interesting and helpful. Even though bringing your bike is more expensive, I feel more comfortable and safe with bike your used to. Shit, I spend 3500$ on the Habit to explore new tracks, would feel strange not bringing it along.
Glad you got something out of it! Yeah, it will be pretty neat to bring my bike to all the continents!
Great Vid B.... I see on Evoc w/s they have a bike stand too. Did u pull the trigger on the Aluminum or regular stand.
Thanks Dave.
its good of them too give you that bike bay it looks cool .
Thanks!
Keep the foam from your car bike rack for padding. Take off your rotors. Don’t fly your CO2
@bkxc would you recommend the stand they sell as a accessory for flying with a enduro bag?
You deserve more subscribers
Tell a friend!
Come to Newark DELAWARE, some fun trails here.
Nice! I'll have to check it out.
Check out White Castle trails.
$150 covers a rental bike most places I have seen. Nothing beats a bike you know and trust though.
Definitely!
For some reason, I thought this video would be about you catching some sick air!
Hahaha, it is, kinda!
No spacers on the brake pads? Have a nice flight and enjoy the trails!
Yeah, I have a couple but they kept falling out, I must have edited that part out of the video.
You need to put in the pin if your pads keep falling out.
BKXC I made a spacer with 2mm PVC sheets with a hole to put the screw thought, just like the ones on the pads, I think you have guides, don't you?
Nice! I dig it.
Yep I have guides
Good stuff as always
Thanks Angel!
Still a pretty expensive, planing to do a road trip in NA next year and go so much anxiety about taking my bike :( but ty for the vid again Bryan
Definitely a black hole of worry! Hope I could help a little bit!
Yes you do, you help to plan this next trip.
By the way, I really enjoy the vlog after couple videos of ride
Thanks dude
Have you ever flown with united ? As thinking of bringing my bike to California this this May
is it worth 300dollars more than another case? i don't think so!
For a second there, I thought you were going to install a hang-glider system onto your frame somehow and ride it off a desert cliff lol ohhhh airports....right
Hahaha, next time!
Hi Brian. I'm tossing up between the black and the green Bike Bag Pro. Have you found the green still looks good after a year of travel? cheers
Nope, it looks really beat up! But it's nice to easily be able to spot it at the airport!
ahh that's what I thought. Thanks for getting back to me.
Safe fly bro👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks dude!
I always put some pool noodles on the Stantion on the fork and rear shock
Such a good call!
You need to hit Chile in your trips some time... cant offer you to be your guide.. but there are a lot of cool places.
I've heard lots about it! It's on the list!

This is the one to do here....
Sweet! Thanks for sharing
I love your channel😁
how do you lock the bag?
The zippers have decent sized holes if you want to lock them. There are TSA compatible locks that they have the power to open up and search your bag as well.
@BKXC what size is your bike mate? because the evo bike bag is a solid option but it doesn't take long wheelbase bikes :/
Any tips maybe ? :D
The tool to wash the bike looks nice but aren't you worry about needing to grease everything when you arrive ?
Hmm, if it doesn't fit, it doesn't fit, I guess. Not too worried about grease, I can bring a tube with me.
Do you have to assemble the bike when you get it
I have the new Evoc soft sided bike case.
It's been really good. It is a pain but the bike bag really does a great job.
Would recommend to put your riding Gear in your Handbag. If your Bike ends Up beeing somewhere else then you, you just have to get a Rental.
Definitely
Hello mate,
Great job with this video.
Looking forward to hearing from you
I don't have a fat bike to test it, but I really doubt that it will fit in this bag. My wheels and tires are a tight fit as it is.
Sweetness!
Is there any kind of insurance available from the airline or a third party? It also might be a good idea to take a bunch of pictures beforehand.
I'm sure there is some sort of 3rd party insurance available. The travel insurance I've seen when offered at checkout definitely doesn't cover the whole $8,000 bike though, so you'd probably need to go searching for a higher tier.
Homeowners or renters should cover it...probably best to call your agent though. I know my bike is covered if it gets smashed by the airport goons.
Just wondering, do you have to deflate the fork/ shock and tyres when flying
I don't!
Now that you have used the bike bag a few times. How do you rate the bag???
It's great! Hasn't had any problems. Definitely a couple little features with the Pro version that make it worth it.
Do you not release the pressure in your shock and fork? The one time I flew with my bike I was worried about the change in pressure and possibility of blowing out the air chambers.
Nope, haven't had a problem yet
Dude...those thing pack up 150 psi and pressed like hell when you bottom down... so be sure they can handle some changes on the plane... Your ears will explode before. RIDE ON!!!
Yeah, kinda my thoughts as well, ha! I released all pressure from my shock and fork! I'd also be concerned about my dropper as well =x
Airline luggage compartments are pressurized and climate controlled for the pets that end up in the hold.
How come you brought another set of rotors? Also, awesome video as always
As a backup! Thanks man!
I watch your channel all the time lol I do plan on taking a NYC trip an may fly though. I thought about renting a citi bike but they look like junk.
Nice! Thanks man
what about the air in the suspension?
put your pedals and helmet in you carry on just in case you need to rent a bike. also the tsa wants you to deflate your shock fork and tires
Not a bad idea. I've been on a lot of flights now and no problems with them deflating anything.
How do you keep your hydration pack from getting moldy/funky?
I only started having moldy problems once I started putting stuff in my water. When I just had water I had no problems. Now I do a rinse out and put it in the freezer. That seems to work.
