From Mosques to Palaces, Seeing the Sights in the Middle East

- Awash in history and stunning architecture, there is so much to see in the Middle East. Let’s go. We’re taking the trip of a lifetime in this reel. Among our destinations: a kaleidoscopic mosque in Iran that comes to life with vibrant color when the sun shines through its stained glass windows; in Yemen, a palace that is literally perched atop a rock (and not as old as you might think); and a resilient hotel in Lebanon that has survived war and economic depression since it opened in 1874.

I don't know if anyone monitors this account anymore, but I just want to say thank you. Your pieces are beautiful. I teach 7th-grade, postclassical world history and share your work continually with my students. I was so sad to hear that Great Big Story was coming to a close last year. I'll always hold on to hope that maybe one day you will come back.
Thank you a million times over.
turkey is fascinating.
The old architecture/buildings never fail to amaze me.
Thank you for uploading positive image of middlr east
I have a Okryugwan cold noodle restaurant in Dubai. The Middle East is cool
The world has different food
UAE: its free real estate
Oml I think I’ve seen your account before under a MOST AMAZING TOP 10 video!
Excellent overview of some of the most interesting site throughout the Middle East.
I didn’t even get a notification and I saw this
Turkey is my favourite country ever, there’s just so much to do
That river looks like it comes out of paintings only more beautiful
Good Bless the Iraqi guy in his quest to stop pollution. Never give up, it's not every day we see people who really care about their livelihood, to the point of educating people despite knowing some will be very negative and not rude.
The waterkeeper guy is gold 💕
p.s. to the woman narrating the Pamukkale video, please search for the pronunciation of names (both Pamukkale and Hierapolis) bcs, with all due respect, you are butchering them (and this is coming from someone who's not from Turkey)
Man I would love to tour the middle east.
Same here, it always seemed like a really different and interesting place, just was always worried about the wars.
maybe someday I might get round to it
If you do.. don't stay in one country too long and try to know the cultural differences between each country to enjoy the journey.. remember.. it's not always about beaches
Think how scary it must of been to be the first person to re-discover those heads in the desert
One of my favorite videos for sure 🤯
You are missing arguably the greatest places in the middle east
Madin Salah in Saudi Arabia🇸🇦
Rijal Almaa in saudi arabia 🇸🇦
The whole country of Egypt 🇪🇬
And Oman🇴🇲 is also beautiful
The most important ones:
Kaba
Medina
Jerusalem
Topkapi Palace
Hagia Sophia
And much more 😂😅
Now I really wanna visit middle east🤩🤩

Very cool!!! 😍
correction; turkey is not middle east.it is anatolia.almost everybody knows it wrong.it does not belong to east, or not to west either.but you can see and live east, west and middle east in different parts.a land on it's own.
I think people just assume just because it's an Islamic country it's middle eastern like bruh
Turkey=Middle East, besides the one part that is west of the Bosporus
@@Buccallmann456 yeah you're right.tho it seems islamic for last 17 years.but you know, geopolitics and politics are ways to lead to hell in this world.
It belongs in Europe right?
@@reaperzvoid4617 no 🤦♂️
I mean we did create the first civilization.
Ok but how did they create such beautiful architecture in the 1880s when they really only had horse and carriage so how did they move so much material in 12 years and what tools were used and where did the tools go???
Love your show
1:37 please focus how the pigeon poops while it takes off 😅

That’s not even half of the half beautiful place in the Middle East, you barely showed anything other than in turkey which is obviously gorgeous but the Middle East is 17 country, you could have looked more into it tbh, there is sites they are unexplainably breath taking.
The most famous and fascinating things is in Turkey sooo yea.

The only Arab I know that is in me is southern Syrian forget my ancestors name I know he was 6’3 and had well I guess normal skin tone form middle eastern people.
If you are going to the Middle East, visit my grandma on my moms side. Nice lady. Overly clean, but nice. Gramps is ok but is a bit off his rocker.

He sounds like he is irish but he is arab. I like his grammar
Hi

Turkey is NOT middle eastern country. It’s only country that geographical considering an Euro-Asia country. It has both european, asian, aegean, Mediterranean and eastern regions.
Exactly
The parts shown are in the Middle-East. Eastern and South-Eastern Turkey, in other words the historic Kurdish heartland, are in fact part of the Middle-East Geography. Istanbul might not be, but the East most definitely is part of the Middle-East.
When you are from Turkey but living on Europe side and trying to explain people you are not from Middle East
Your comment is as stupid as saying "Egypt is in Africa not in the Middle East". The Middle East is geopolitical term, not purely a geographical location. There is no continent that's called "the Middle East". Don't they teach you this in Turkish schools?
69 BC.... Nice
What about all the beautiful Arab countries??!
They're literally all arab...

Polinzge _ have you evet visited Turkey? how many books have you read about Turkey?
@@burakgamze yes I've visited turkey many times. lul what is it if its not middle east
Polinzge _ it is a combination of east and west. We dont weat like middle easterns, our kitchen is far different. our language has nothing to do with theirs. the only thing we have in common is our religion. in fact Turkey is a secular country and does not have an official religion as most of the middle eastern countries have 😇
man....read a map
Istg of middle eastern countries govt would gp secular and open up multiculturalism... the amount of money from tourism...
Turkey and Iran is not the middle east
@@FlankStepper2 * west Asia
Iran is Shia country, I wonder if their mosque can still be considered as a mosque when even their religion (Shia) is already considered straying away from Islam itself by all islamic scholar in the world.
Yeah, the mosque is still mosque the were only a few difference in their religious book but the rest is essentially similliar
Turkey isn't in the middle east lol they even mentioned it 2 times
The Kurdish parts of Turkey are actually in the Middle-East. Mount Nemrut is in the Middle-East.
It is part of the Middle East. This is a fact, not an opinion.
