That's not correct. Soundscape Digital Technology came out of Cheetah. Novation was formed by the original designer of the Cheetah MS6. MS800 was designed for Cheetah by Lynett Systems.
@@ChrisWright3 Ahh, cheers Chris for clarifying that. Good to have some legacy synth Co. tech knowledge on a Sunday morning!! Still got my MS6, though one of the VCA chips needs replacement (usual for these). Been properly earthed now too (! 😵). Also got Novation Super BS rack & BS II synth, great products 😎👍🎹🎵
Wait, the original Bass Station was released in 1993, I think. Anywhere one could read about the birth of Novation? Things must've moved fairly quickly after the release of the MS800. What a frikkin co-incidence. I listen to one track off the Cheetah EP by Aphex almost daily and I have an AFX Station on order.. by Novation.
I bought one of these when they came out. It was one of the cheapest synthesisers at the time. They said it was a wavetable synth not unlike the PPG Wave. I got it back to my studio and it didn't work correctly. The operating system was very complex to use. Also I found the original unit I had was so noisy. I had it sent back to Cheetah and they never returned it. I got a full refund and never saw them for sale again after that.
Thanks for this amazing video. I'd love to have a set of raw WAV set of waveforms so I can make a wavetable for my Blofeld synthesizer! I look forward to the next part!
Aphex Twin brought me here
AWSOME more please
Very nice review, thanks Paddy! Didn't realise Novation came out of the old Cheetah legacy ....

Very cool and super interesting. Any chance of releasing those waveforms? I'd really love to get them into my samplers
Thank-you, that is a really good overview.
Mike Lynch brought me here. RIP
Very interesting! Thanks for share! :-))

Sorry, I realized I asked the exact same thing in your prior video. Didn't mean to Nag. Keep up the good work!
