Great stuff. I was totally ignorant of the clock divider. What's wierd is that I searched for this video and saw it thinking "oh I'd missed that loopop video" only to realise now that you just released it today.
This made me understand my 0-Coast in a better way than ever before. Gonna be jamming out on it tonight for the first time in a while, thanks for the tips!
I want to see another video on this. I learn so much from your videos, even when you show synths that I don't own. The way you think about synthesis is so methodical and you really seem to have a deep understanding of the magic happening behind the knobs.
I've owned (and still have racked) 90% of the modules MN has released. I still find the 0-Coast to be absolutely stunning, useful, and not at all just a simplification. It sounds so incredibly different from the DPO, and has a different type of flexibility. If I need to grab only one synth for a gig, this is likely the one these days, despite having a dozen "more featureful" synths.
This is exactly why I’m subscribed to this channel. Every time I turn my 0-coast on I feel at a dead end, struggling to think of something to do with it but this has gave me so many new ideas to use it for. Great video!
I was thinking of selling my 0-Coast. I’ve thought of selling it several times. Inevitably, I come across something like this that demonstrates how surprising and deep a synth it is. Great video.
this is actually also very watchable for ppl like me, who have no real intrinsic interrest in the device at hand. found some ideas i wanna try using different gear. (: thx!
I just want to say thanks so much for publishing a table of contents. Just came from so many videos that just go on and on, and I'm like, "Just sunk 10 minutes into this video and gotten nothing out of it. Stick with it?"
Really good tutorial right here. I have owned the 0 coast now for about 2 years and am always finding new things to do with it, even more so now after this insightful view! Mostly I use it for bass lines in tracks as I just love the sound this thing produces. Also I see you are controlling via midi. Just to add for anyone who has not got one of these fine wee beasties, add an sq1 to the mix to control cv and gate and it opens up a whole world of possibilities. Also if you use the sq1 via USB you can send midi to the sq1 to then control the 0 coast via a midi keyboard whilst the sequencer is not running. Best of both worlds! Great video dude.
Great hacks! It would be great if you could do a video about how can someone start a modular system based on the 0-coast. Like what functions does 0-coast cover already and how we can take its possbilities further in the modular world.
Great video! The 0-Coast also has a calibration routine that can create a midi map to oscillators that don’t conform to 1v/octave. I’ve never seen this on another synth, and it takes some time for a stability warm up and tuning calibration, but it provides more stability and range to oscillating circuits than retuning by hand.
Brilliant, learnt a lot from this! Just incredible how much they’ve packed into 0-Coast. A 0-Coast + friends video would be amazing to see how it can pair with other modules (and maybe other semi-modulars too?)
We chatted a bit on your other thread on the Keystep 37. My 0-Coast arrives in the next couple of days. I'm re-watching this and many other videos. I've been watching your MN Maths video too. Things are starting to make sense in my head. The relationship between overtone/multiply suddenly became clear just now. Your use of oscilloscopes as a visual tool is really great, it's what helped me get the point. Thank you.
argh...this is so frustrating because I am trying not to be tempted by your excellent uploads. Always a comprehensive demo. Great as usual. I am not going to be tempted :)
You have the most helpful and informative videos by far. Many thanks for all you have helped me understand this year. With best wishes for a resonant 2019! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I second that!! So happy that I found you on YT, Ziv, and learned so much from your videos this year! Happily looking forward to 2019 with even more awesomeness from you! 😃
Learning something new, i like to compare that to a boarded up house. The first thing you do is take off 1 plank so that a little bit of light shines inwards, as you proceed to take more boards down more light is able to get inside and you start to see things. And before you know you are completely engulfed in the light and you can see everything in HD clarity, thx Loopie you da bees knees.
I've been using the slope as a sub oscillator in lots of patches, and I knew the contour could be used as one - but it never occurred to me to use both at the same time. Thanks for the tip!
Thanks so much! I love my 0-coast and you just helped me love it even more. I didn't know that there were so many more hidden gems to be discovered. Time to get some stackable cables and your book!
Outstanding video loopop! I must admit I feel kinda noobish and a bit too intimidated to actually get an 0-Coast.... But I still may take the plunge! Thanks again
I must admit I bought this one cause you mentioned it’s one of your favorites, and since then I’ve been having so much fun with this little monster. It’s a bit of magic that almost anywhere you tweak you end up with some “that’s nice!” . So, thank you for making my bank account shrink and for the good times ;)
Thank you for making this video. I made the Krell from the manual after watching this. It worked after I tried to make R2. For some reason he was talking to himself regardless of MIDI. I suspected midi settings on the 0-coast and did a reset on power up but no. He sounded happy enough though just jabbering away.
Thanks! I think knob positions make a huge difference. Krell can sound boring or like singing birds (I think anyway...) like I showed in this video, not to mention R2 :)
Thank you for the upload, I got a 0-coast too and found ur tips very-very useful, especially the sub-parts :) l love the square subs (with a bit more multiplyknob adjustment haha) on this instrument. Keep ur tips coming also in 2019! Happy new year! cheers!
Me watching this video for the 5th time. "Okay, this time I'm going to totally understand everything he's saying and doing." Also me 2 minutes later "What?" It's witchcraft I tell ya.
(I think you mean, “It’s WITCHCRAFT, I tells ya!”) You are correct. His level of understanding is remarkable. I wonder if the guys who make these videos even have a desire to produce music, or if that’s just for ) musicians. Then there’s collecting modules, a hobby in itself.
I have a 0 Coast and I find it a rather perplexing synth at times! This video will help me get some new sounds out of it for sure.. Kinda wish they added a resonant filter to it, just a simple 12db low pass, like how Elektron added one to their implementation of FM on the Digitone.. Though I suppose that’s not the point.. Great and useful video :)
I think everyone wants a low pass filter on (I'd prefer a variable state, but whatevs) yesterday I actually ran my whoa coast into the aux in of a korg monotron duo to use the k 35...bad part is that the monotron seriously needs to be preamped just to get to line level.
Awesome video man! I was on the fence about getting one, but you've made up my mind! Picking one up tomorrow! Thanks for the detailed tutorial! Keep up the great work!
It really is east meets west coast, very interesting 🧐🤔 and also sounds great. Now you mention it if I think of it as 7 eurorack modules it suddenly seems much more affordable 😂
That was awesome man! Recently bought an 0 coast and I'm loving it, you just made me love it even more!!! I'd love to see a video incorporating the behringer neutron into this 0 coast awesomeness!! Btw the r2d2 touch is amazing haha
Ziv, you are so polite about adding reverb. Caught between demonstration and music making, you walk the line. What about output signal? The line out is (also?) a headphone out? Is your cable TS or TRS? 25:10 the fly!
Dont have a key step which means I'll have to get one because I was using the mother 32 as my keyboard... so I had to connect gate to gate and kb out on the mother 32 to 1v/Oct on the 0 coast.. i found it hard to follow but what a fantastic video... would love to see a video where you mesh the 0 coast and mother 32. Your videos are the best loop
One very simple thing that's missing is a simple 'mute' button. As the 0-Coast still makes a noise (as it's meant to) when you plug in/out cables, it could have been great to have had a simple mute button. This would help you change cables on the fly without a 'pop'.
At 11:00 you really showed some insane 0-coast-skills.
keep it up
Milz Tempelrowski my jaw dropped and my wallet opened up. Save me.
Yeah that was insane
I have owned an 0-coast for little over a month now, and I thought I had learned everything there is to it... this video proved me otherwise, amazing!
Great stuff. I was totally ignorant of the clock divider. What's wierd is that I searched for this video and saw it thinking "oh I'd missed that loopop video" only to realise now that you just released it today.
This made me understand my 0-Coast in a better way than ever before.

Learned a lot from this. Please do more 0-Coast tips!
indeed :) more o coasts :)
This is a great video. I've owned a 0-Coast for nearly 2 years now and obviously, I've not even scratched the surface.
The master opens his chamber of secrets yet again... brilliant stuff
Companies should pay you royalties. I’ve bought so much gear because of your in depth tutorials
I have a 0-coast that I struggle to get new sounds out of, this was very helpful. I'd love to see you pair this with the Moog Grandmother.
As if your reviews weren't good enough, one always can find these pearls you bring up from deep levels you easily dive into. Thanks!
Omg I've seen plenty of videos on this little guy but this!!!! You absolute wizard! Given me so many things to try thanks so much!!
this is actually also very watchable for ppl like me, who have no real intrinsic interrest in the device at hand. found some ideas i wanna try using different gear. (:
thx!
I had no interest in 0-Coast before watching this video. Now, though...
I just want to say thanks so much for publishing a table of contents. Just came from so many videos that just go on and on, and I'm like, "Just sunk 10 minutes into this video and gotten nothing out of it. Stick with it?"

Incredibly cool demo, but it also shows how incredible the 0-coast is.
The subharmonics are amazing. That will be in my patch library for a long time.
Just this morning I was experimenting with the 0-coast, and you upload this amazing video. Thank you!
Great hacks! It would be great if you could do a video about how can someone start a modular system based on the 0-coast. Like what functions does 0-coast cover already and how we can take its possbilities further in the modular world.

do you know of a video demonstration of this? I'm thinking of getting one and I suck at tuning by ear.
Brilliant, learnt a lot from this! Just incredible how much they’ve packed into 0-Coast. A 0-Coast + friends video would be amazing to see how it can pair with other modules (and maybe other semi-modulars too?)
Yes, more o-coast videos please!

Amazing. I've had the 0-Coast for months and this video still taught me many things. Would love to see more!
Most surprising 0-coast hacks I've ever seen. Subscribed.
I made an entire EP using the 0-coast and I can't believe I didn't even come close to figuring out half of these tricks, great video as alway, thanks!
argh...this is so frustrating because I am trying not to be tempted by your excellent uploads. Always a comprehensive demo. Great as usual. I am not going to be tempted :)
would definetely want to see a follow up video with other modules/gear!
great work!
totally
You have the most helpful and informative videos by far. Many thanks for all you have helped me understand this year. With best wishes for a resonant 2019! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Amen!
I second that!! So happy that I found you on YT, Ziv, and learned so much from your videos this year! Happily looking forward to 2019 with even more awesomeness from you! 😃
100% sold me on this! Btw I need a full version of 11:40 - so nice!
Very Portal 2.
Excellent! Yes please more 0-Coast videos!
Thank you! More 0-coast videos please
Wonderful!
Yes, I would like to see you pair the 0-coast with other modules.

Amazeballs!! Curious what 0-Coast and Maths together can create. Next week I‘ll know!
I just ordered 0-Coast. At first I didn't like the look but I like sound and now I am even starting to like the look.
I changed so many modules in last 7 months but 0-Coast is always in my rack.
I've been using the slope as a sub oscillator in lots of patches, and I knew the contour could be used as one - but it never occurred to me to use both at the same time. Thanks for the tip!
Sweet!
Thanks so much! I love my 0-coast and you just helped me love it even more. I didn't know that there were so many more hidden gems to be discovered. Time to get some stackable cables and your book!
Superb, your clarity helps push creativity across the board of learning. Such a good teacher.
Wow, didn't see that jam at 11:20 coming.
Didn't know about the built-in arpeggiator either! This thing is just dope.
Brilliant video, other videos about the 0-Coast would be much appreciated!! Thanks for making this one :)
Fab. Love the arpeggio segment - beautiful, atmospheric sounds.
Outstanding video loopop! I must admit I feel kinda noobish and a bit too intimidated to actually get an 0-Coast.... But I still may take the plunge! Thanks again

I totally accept responsibility :)
amazing! didn’t know i could learn more about this favorite synth of mine..
Man, you are such an amazing instructor.
This is pure gold for 0-coast and modular noobs.... (ahem) like me. Thank you SO much! ❤ and I have to agree with the others. More 0-coast please =)
I'm watching this again and remembered when you mentioned pairing this with other modules. I'd love to see Mother32 or DFAM or both.
Thank you for making this video. I made the Krell from the manual after watching this. It worked after I tried to make R2. For some reason he was talking to himself regardless of MIDI. I suspected midi settings on the 0-coast and did a reset on power up but no. He sounded happy enough though just jabbering away.
This is very cool. I have been looking at purchasing my first piece of Eurorack gear and this one seems to be a very good starter.
Great job, thanks so much for making this. I share it in the 0-Coast group on Facebook. Thanks!
Great video! More 0Coast stuff please! Never been able to pull of a decent Krell patch...not sure what I’m doing wrong :)
Thanks! I think knob positions make a huge difference. Krell can sound boring or like singing birds (I think anyway...) like I showed in this video, not to mention R2 :)
ONE OF THE BEST TUTORIAL FOR 0 COAST :) PLS DO MORE :)
Always a good moment to see your videos !
Thanks very much for compiling these tips into such an easy to watch and understand video! Would love to see an 0 Coast + Leploopv2 video
Thank you for the upload, I got a 0-coast too and found ur tips very-very useful, especially the sub-parts :) l love the square subs (with a bit more multiplyknob adjustment haha) on this instrument. Keep ur tips coming also in 2019! Happy new year! cheers!
I just tried the sub harmonic generator patch on my Volca Modular and it works really nicely! Amazing tips in this video! Thanks so much!
This is such a great video! Thanks! Can't wait for this gem to arrive!!!!
This is fantastic! Thank you!! You made me love this box even more!
What an awesome video! Loved it! And yes, do more videos. Would love to see the PWM experimentation with eurorack.
The best 0 Coast video I've seen.
Great stuff! Pls make some videos 0-coast with other modulars )
OK! Let me know if you have any particular requests...
@@loopop 0-coast + Maths + O_c (in different modes) would be awesome )
That paraphonic jam was an experience.
please do the pairing video of O Coast! this was amaizing!
Thanks! I did - it's the one right after this one
Me watching this video for the 5th time.
"Okay, this time I'm going to totally understand everything he's saying and doing."

incredible through and through
Aha, the R2D2 bit was perfect, makes me want the O-Coast so badly, thank you for another awesome video!
I have a 0 Coast and I find it a rather perplexing synth at times! This video will help me get some new sounds out of it for sure..
Kinda wish they added a resonant filter to it, just a simple 12db low pass, like how Elektron added one to their implementation of FM on the Digitone..

Great video. Thanks. Would certainly like to see you integrate it into a larger Euro setup
You know this inside out! Learnt so much
Awesome video man! I was on the fence about getting one, but you've made up my mind! Picking one up tomorrow! Thanks for the detailed tutorial! Keep up the great work!
nice modular tips! ok, I going to patch...vcv rack with your tips)
my thought exactly. :) ...also controlling subharmonics with a random lfo instead of a modwheel. should be possible on the 0-coast too btw.
STOP. MAKING. ME. BUY. GEAR.
I see my future in you
Too late for me
Are you me?
I see that as a "you" problem.
Hahaha for real. But always satisfied with my superuberhyperinformed acquisitions!
yaaas
new vid here we go
man, you're the best! l love your reviews and tips
now, i'll have to unleash the 0-coast!
lets see how many times i can watch this and learn something new every time
So glad I have an o coast. Sounds so good.
So this is the next synth i have to purchase, your tutorial on Maths was great by the way I'm now hooked on make noise gear!
This is one of my favorites
Very cool stuff. I knew about slew but this tute is packed with stuff that makes the No Coast even more fun. Thanks Your MN Math vid is ace too
This is ridiculously good content.
Great review, as usual.
You deserve much more subscribers for your channel.
It really is east meets west coast, very interesting 🧐🤔 and also sounds great.
Now you mention it if I think of it as 7 eurorack modules it suddenly seems much more affordable 😂
Excellent video, thank you so much!
This guy is a wizard.
Great tutorial you really explain how the 0-coast works.
great tricks! -
more videos about 0 coast and pairing it with modules/semimodular synth would be great. thx
That was awesome man! Recently bought an 0 coast and I'm loving it, you just made me love it even more!!! I'd love to see a video incorporating the behringer neutron into this 0 coast awesomeness!!
Btw the r2d2 touch is amazing haha
Awesome video! I would love to see more videos of the 0-Coast.
Unbelievable, Thank you for this.
Ziv, you are so polite about adding reverb. Caught between demonstration and music making, you walk the line. What about output signal? The line out is (also?) a headphone out? Is your cable TS or TRS? 25:10 the fly!
there are two outputs - euro and headphone/line
Pretty astounding. Thanks!
Ordered mine today me and my deluge can't wait this thing looks and sounds so fun
Awesome !! 0-coast Rocks !!
I was thinking about selling my 0-Coast. Now I'm thinking about which of these tips I'd most like to use for my next gig.
O Coast is the best thing I ever bought in my entire life
