I'm grateful and blessed to have known John since 1976, when my family moved to his street. He was one of the very 1st persons I met there. I was 13 and he was 11. Been friends ever since. It was a real treat to watch him mature as an amazing guitarist, and to go step-by-step with him all the way to the day when he was hired by Glenn and producer Rik Rubin to join Samhain, and eventually Danzig. I'll never forget John's bleeding hands from his original audition, and the news that he was hired. So fortunate to have experienced that with him!😎🖒
SWEET Chris!!! I mail ordered this disc directly from him and he was kind enough to sign it and throw in some guitar pics. Hope he is well and tell 'em we ALL would like to have a followup disc after all these years!
I wonder how badass a new danzig album with the original line up would sound. that will probably happen right after jerry and doyle put out an album with him lol
Glenn said back when JC left he wanted to do Malmsteen style guitar wank music, so I guess him leaving was the best movie, But I would like to see him reunite with Danzig, as much as I love Tommy Victor in prong he sucks so bad in Danzig with his overuse of Pinch harmonics, he should keep that stuff for Prong.
Exactlly this, I think same like you cause Steve Zing, Joey Castrillo and Johny Kelly are enought great , but thers any like first Danzig formation or Samhain but there isnt compartion of John Christ with Tommy Victor, personally I dont like much his pull off in guitarSomebody knows who plays bass on this?
It's almost painful to listen to Christ's work and Glenn's... Two pieces that fit perfect together. When you listen to Danzig, what he's missing is Christ. And when you listen to Christ, although his music is really good, it feels and sounds like it was made for Glenn's voice. All his songs would be taken to the next level with Glenn on vocals. So frustrating. But Christ is such a great musician... I hope he never agrees to any shady shit with Glenn... But secretly I kinda do ;P. Sorry. Just a fan.
When you have a beloved line up like the first Danzig lineup, something so solid, it’s really hard for anyone get past that. John and Glenn were very different people, and had very different musical backgrounds from what I’ve gathered. If Glenn and John had started out together, I think things would have been different because John is a loyal guy, and so is Glenn, but obviously only to a point. From being a longtime fan, I think Glenn was at a very different point in his career and trajectory than John was when they worked together . Kinda seems like Glenn was already jaded, and John wasn’t a newbie or anything, but he simply didn’t have the output or name recognition Glenn had at that point. So it looked like it was Glenn and eerie vs the workd, but wait here’s this killer guitarist, and Surprise! Rick Rubin want to sign you and also hook you up with your dream drummer. Glenn and to some degree Eerie had already paid some serious dues on the road, and this was finally the big break they had been working towards. Chuck at this point had paid many dues as well, and was all in from the start. John walked into this situation through a lot of hard work of his own, but his past was different, and that dynamic made the band tense at times, but also explosively good! Nothing lasts forever, but it was probably weird to everyone including Glenn that they stayed together as long as they did. John wanted more money, money he felt he was promised and owed, but in the big picture, it looks like the whole band got screwed by Rubin in the end, and Glenn made out ok because of his royalties and brand at this point. John, Eerie didn’t feel like they got their fair share, and ditched the band after the Danzig 4 tour with Castillo replacing the now former drummer chuck biscuits. It’s too bad it didn’t work out, but I don’t see many ways that would have lasted anyway, for many reasons. Ok, break is over, take care!
I agree...Glenn needs this man (an awesome musician) very bad...really! I buyed Danzig 5 and I was very dissapointed, so, I sold it back and I never buy a Danzig album again, cuz I don't like that industrial sound. But for the record: I am still listening Danzig 1-4 every day. That amazing records!! Thanx JC for that amazing sounds!
Awesome album. He needs to reunite with Biscuits and do another album. Screw Glenn. Damn where are they now! It's been years since he released this. My comments are still on his site. Heck I even named my Pug after Biscuits. I want 89' back.
@redstacy Chuck has wrecked his leg (knees) from playing drums so long. It happens to a lot of drummers. Last I knew he has sold most of his drum kits and was unable to play much anymore (unless he gets knee replacement surgery)
@gruponaya just so you know.. Danzig 5 is really the only one that sounds that way.. some of the newer ones have a LITTLE bit of an industrial feel but nothing like blackacidevil... The new one is closer to the original danzig sound than any.. I still love Danzig , John , Erie, And chuck(wherever the hell he is) But I sure as hell would like to see a reunion.. I dont think that will ever happen with chuck as it seems he has crawled under a rock and isnt coming out! but IT sure would be the shit!
I'm a huge fan of Danzig's first four albums and agree that John Christ was a huge part of that. But John's first solo album was shit. It's not what i thought he would have done. I thought it would be less middle of the road and more hard rock/metal with pinched harmonic's.
I don't agree. I like victors play8ing and sound, (most the time)lol I love John Christ palying and sound though... (ALWAYS) But still, i think victor has his place with Glenn. but it could be time to get john back though, in that i do agree totally.
Although, I personally thought that Zach's "twangin" and horrible orverbearing pinich shit was unbearable in "Ozzy's" music. Not that that has anything to do with this John Christ awesomeness....just a sayin' lol

@@ayinger2 I will certainly pass on that message to him.😉
Thank You for your support!👍
Untouchable guitarist. We need another Danzig album with JC.
Best Danzig guitar player.Ever........
his brother jesus was a radical revolutionary and one hell of a bass player.
Danzig needs Christ in his life \m/
Russ Anderson
I like what you did there.
John is Danzig
"Hell yes"
😂
"I'm Gone" is a perfect masterpiece. period.
The deathly bluesman for Danzig. Among a handful of solo projects that are a must buy.
John is a incredible musician.......very talent
Keeping the chat going, this is unforgotten
Purdy badass I agree
Great track. Has a real Wishbone Ash/Opeth feel to it. Makes you wonder what this would have sounded like with Glenn. Good stuff.
Holy shit! this is one of the best song I've ever heard!
this song is really fun to play on guitar. im glad this man is still going for some music after Danzig. KEEP ROCKING BRO!
He is an awesome guitarist
And still "awsome" is not a strong enough word to describe him.
first time , i hear his solo stuff and that's great really !!!
Rhythm silk and sin. 🎶🥲🎶
He always was one of my favs on Guitar.
Incredible song!!! Great John!!!
Very late to this party, but this kills.
such a great song.
I wonder how badass a new danzig album with the original line up would sound. that will probably happen right after jerry and doyle put out an album with him lol
Yeah, that'd be fascinating to hear^_^

+slantyrock agreed
Wow, this is amazing!
I really want to get his album.
Very nice, kicking in at 1:00 with the drums, good vocals
danzig's biggest mistake was finding someone other than this guy.
Well Danzig writes all the music but yeah John is a diamond 💎 guitar 🎸 player
Beautiful

Michael Kletz Sadly the case for a lot of artists. Same case with Diamond Head and Sean Harris
@@hmpz36911 "Danzig, what he's missing is Christ" sounds like something pious Jerry Only would say

@redstacy Chuck has wrecked his leg (knees) from playing drums so long. It happens to a lot of drummers. Last I knew he has sold most of his drum kits and was unable to play much anymore (unless he gets knee replacement surgery)
donde puedo conseguir estas canciones
son dificiles de ubicar
Hello does anyone have a link to John's song "For Christ's Sake"?
I cannot find it either....
aziz farhat that tune is a rocker, pretty sure it was like a guitar clinic tape. I had it from Audiogalaxy in the day.
aziz farhat I have a friend uploading it soon
@@jarmyvicious i looked everywhere for it and i couldn't find it...
I'm very looking forward to listen to it

im a big danzig fan of all of the albums but danzig 1-4 would not have been the same if jc wasnt in the band this guys an amazing musician
Check out eerie vons stuff as well. Its unique and awesome. John christ is the shit though.
Yeah, really good stuff.
Both old and new
"Hello my friend ... stay a while and listen."
"Hello, my friend. Stay a while and listen."
Lyrics are not so much, but damn this guy can play. Why he is not in a band that is worthy of him, i have no idea.
FarFromEquilibrium because he is busy teaching guitar lessons. trust me, im his student.
@frankenberry1977 ya deth red sabaoth is all analog
JOHN CHRIST-EX DANZIG.
Id like to see a Danzig record with John, Doyle and Tommy doing different songs.
Man !! Why did Danzig give up on JC and Biscuts ?! I can almost imagine how glorious they'd sound , what they'd be putting out now. Why not progress with the original sound ? Why'd he have to go off on some ®satanoteric© tangent ? Seems to me that he let his personal issues keep him from producing some of the finest heavy metal music in creation. To be fare , I don't know all the facts so , if I've got things all wrong , my apologies but I don't believe there's anything under the sun that could keep me from carrying on with the winning formula and it's as plain as day that they had the WINNING formula with Danzig , Christ , Eerie Von , Biscuts !! I mean , it was Glenn's band and maybe he felt like it was no longer the direction he wanted to proceed in but DAMN !!! The rest of the band lost , the FANS lost , the label lost and although Danzig , I suspect , gained a platform he felt he was meant to occupy , HE lost. I mean , they're perfection personified.
Look at it like this , if you're rich and buy a Porsche Carrera GT , your dream car , why would you sell it and buy a ......Viper RT ? Sure , the RT is a splendid ride but why not garage the GT , buy the Viper and take the Porsche out every once in awhile when your friends get a little to cocky !! Lol !! Know what I mean Vern ? PEACE !
imagine this with glenn singing
Worse, listen to him on his elvis and skeletons albums😅
Totaly
Was the beginning done by John Christ ... or the guy who scored the first Diablo video game? LOL
Why did he leave Danzig and what is he doing niow?
C.J. Henderson i cant tell you why he left, but i can say that he is teaching me and others how to play the guitar now.
He is on staff at Peabody and Mcdanial colleges and also teaches Guitar at Coffey Music in Westminster MD.
Apparently John Christ is my Dad
Wow, how's it going, guys!
then tell your dad to get out of his cave and share his awesomeness with us.

@lippylipman that's bullshit; John and Glenn both made better music when they worked together.
not the same John Christ
Music is good, but I know that the song would kick ass if Danzig was singing.
Christ was a God....
Danzig needs to boot Tommy "Pinch Harmonic" Victor. His twanging is unbearable.
I don't agree. I like victors play8ing and sound, (most the time)lol I love John Christ palying and sound though... (ALWAYS) But still, i think victor has his place with Glenn. but it could be time to get john back though, in that i do agree totally.
