I always loved the 50's Cadillac body style. My boss owned a 1955 Black Coupe de Ville in mint condition, and hardly any miles at all. This one brings back a lot of memories and I appreciate you showing it to us !!
Those Dagmars are magnificent! The mid fifties Cadillacs were beautiful cars. When I was a kid my uncle had one. I don’t know if it was a 54 or a 55. It was somewhere in there. He lived in Arizona in the winter and he would come up to northwest Washington State in the summer to visit with that beautiful Cadillac and his Airstream trailer. He was a cool uncle. He was a rock hound and he used to make Bolo ties out of turquoise and coral for my brother and I. I wish I still had those and I wish I had that Caddy. That’s not too bad of a price on that one. It would probably cost a fortune to restore though. I’d resto-mod it if I had the means.
Leaving a medical facility last fall, an elderly couple were ahead of me and were driving one of these, except theirs was PERFECT, Mint green with white top.
@@johnelliott7375 Mine was a different one and it was in Palos Park, Illinois, west/south of Chicago. Why I cited the color white over green. Mu grandfather had one and I drove it one time, you will not like it. He had a 59 or 60 and it was wonderful to drive in a straight line

I remember riding in my uncles 50"s Caddie as a child. It had the vent tubes for the AC that raised up behind the back seat on each side. Beautiful cars, for sure. Thanks as always.

…nice ‘55 CdV, Jeff… …this mid-50’s premium luxury coupe rolled out in early October of ‘54…just as I greeted the world… …I believe that this year featured the most prominent Dagmar projections of any of the 50’s Caddies…and small wonder considering the continuing public fascination with both Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell… …shown here in Alpine White over Norman Gray, this stately coupe was actually the 4th generation of the 62 series…with the deVille being the top model trim… …the 62 series achieved record sales figures of 118,190 and accounted for 84% of total Cadillac sales… …the slight rerouting of the rear exhaust was often done to prevent bumper corrosion around the exhaust ports… …though seemingly absurd by today’s standards this ‘55 featured as standard equipment turn signals, back up lamps, and an automatic transmission…all of which had been charged as separate options in previous years model runs… …thanks, Jeff…and Country Classics owes you bigtime…

In 1967 I hung out with a girl whose parents gave her a 55 Convertible. That car was a blast.

I had a 54 that my dad and I installed a 56 engine and transmission and that car got amazing fuel economy . I would like to have that car back .

That's a '56 Fleetwood, it has a small block Chevy under the hood.
The headlight trim is factory, nobody added anything.
I've never seen the chrome eyelids on any other Coupe de Ville's.
