NYC - A Leica Film Story

Come along as we go to New York City to see Oppenheimer on 70mm Film Imax and turn it into a full blow photography vacation! We take the Leica M4 along with multiple different film stocks and our Canon EOS R with a selection of vintage lenses.
We visit B&H and do tons of activities in NYC!
All photos shot with the Leica M4 using various film stocks and the Canon EOS R using multiple vintage lenses.

Thank you! The M4 is seriously my favorite camera. I love my Voigtlander 40mm (although I have some issues/concerns with it).
I was super happy with the shots I got in NY. I really need to get around to printing some.

Dude i LIVE IN NYC and shoot with an M6, My favorite shot is the one you took up on the CASTLE @13:50 OUTSTANDING. I shoot up at the castle and have yet to grab an image like that! Love this video because i shoot in all these places in my BEAUTIFUL CITY. You did GREAT.

I would agree that the film stock and the Voigtlander lens did most of the heavy lifting. I’m very impressed by the Voigtlander being a “cheap” lens.

Voigtlander is cheap for a Leica M lens, but it is not exactly a give aay is it? I have no idea what it retails in the US, but as usual here in the UK it is just shy of £500.00. They don't call it Rip Off Britain for no reason!@@michaelmarshallphotography5515

I’ll give you that. I didn’t think about that. I bought mine second hand so I got it for $200 USD. It does retail US for closer to $500.

Lovely work and thanks for sharing. Quick question though - given your love of Leica cameras (which, incidentally I've never used), do you think that similar (or equally excellent) images could be made with a more humble products? After all, the vast majority of us cannot afford Leica cameras/lenses.

Thank you for the watch and the kind words! To answer your question, yes absolutely! Being that the Leica M4 is 35mm, the film stock plays a huge part. And I'm using a Voigtlander lens (as I can't afford Leica glass at this time either). The lens and the film stock are doing most of the work for the image. You could definitely get similar, comparable or better results with different/more humble gear.
