I love how there's no 3 minute intro, 3 seconds in and we are already looking at the main content. Subbed
I subbed while looking at the ad before the video
The next guy: “I subbed before he made a channel!”
I subbed before he made the channel!
i subbed before youtubd existed
This is such a perfect video in EVERY aspect. Concise, straight-to-the-point, so informative, and tangible because of your ingenious metaphors and explanations. The content was sorted in a perfect order and flow too.
I went with the Aqua King switches after Gateron Red switches and I'm supper happy with them. Thanks for pointing them out.
Was looking for a video like this. Thansks
also i highly suggest the haimu whisper and heartbest silent switches! a bit less of that mushy feeling because of the cutouts like the ws tactiles!
I so wish there was a silent low profile switch, I've been looking up and down for the longest time. I've heard kailh was coming out with one but there's no news on it :p
I'm curious how JWK Silent Alpacas would do with your setup and sound setup. They're currently my daily driver and with a tiny bit of lube, I can't actually hear anything.
As a silent lover I'm glad to have found this video, I've been curious about the TTC Silent Bluish Whites and the Silent Frozens, and your video was straight to the point
Great video! I was excited to try a few different switches but saw you guys don't ship to Canada. Bummer. Maybe in the future!
Kailh midnight pro silent switches are an absolute one of a kind switch. They use a silicone pad on the the bottom housing instead of the on the stem that while harder than what is traditionally used to make a switch silent it mutes the switch to almost 0db. Keychron sells them for a fair price and Drop also had a produstion run calling them Kailh elf ultra silent switches. Keybored also did a review on them for a reference.
If you like the midnight, try the deep sea silent switches.
Kailh midnight pro are close to Gamakay phoenix. The biggest difference is a clack of the phoenix vs a thoc of the midnight pro. I still have to give the edge to the phoenix switches, probably the most silent I've heard yet. I don't find any of the switches in this video as quiet. I'm still hunting for quieter yet, but I just can't find it.
Will all of these work with the redragon K552 keyboard or is it only OEM switches? If that's the correct word
What do you recommend for office ttc frozen or ttc silent blueish white. Im not from us/canada so cant ge the try the home kit
I tried a couple of different keyboards today at the closest Best Buy. In the beginning I was certain that I was set with linear but then I tried the HyperX Aqua which is a light tactile switch pre lubed. I can't explain but I think I found join using that switch. I'd like to find a similar switch to that. Can the Everglide Aqua King may be that right fit for me?
Cool info and I love the try-before-you-buy option. Naturally, I love the clackiness of my mechanical keyboard, but my wife really wants hates it. It's been out of commission for months out. I pulled out my old Logitech keyboard from like 2007 or something.
Holy crap, silent switches are so expensive....
Can the switches with the bars on the side be compatible with the keycaps that fit on regular switches
Still trying to find a silent switch I love, so I appreciate the video 🫡
lucy switch
Should try the try at home kit. It's pretty awesome. That's how I ended up with the durock shrimps
@@calvinlim9485 oh I have been lol
Tried the shrimps, limes, u4s, u4xs, and silent frozens so far. The issue I keep running into is liking the sound and feel in the testing trays but then not being anywhere near as excited by them once I try them in my boards. Idk what it is but they just don't feel as good to me :/
@@GetMyNerdOnyou tried boba gums? I think they are the best silent switches on the market, or i just couldn't find anything better
@@GetMyNerdOn Go for the Haimu ones: WS silents, Haimu x Geon silents. You will like the feel if you dont like silicon silenced switches.
I love Topre except I find the key return speed a bit slow for if I want to type fast. Hopefully these TTC switches will be similar enough to Topre but with a more responsive return.
how do they compare to the Gazzew Bobagum Silent Linear?
When are you going to make your switch tryout program available in Canada
what was the backplate material?
exactly the video i needed, no bullshit in a sea of dudes talking my ear off about things unrelated to the switches or doing skits or whatever. thank you!
i cant find the try at home filter. did you guys remove it?
Outemu Silent Cream Yellow Pros... extremely silent but with a nice early tactile bump and very little stem wobble thanks to the box stem
Yep was going to post the same. I got the cream jades(same thing) and am going to use them instead of my Boba u4 with a heavier spring. So tight not scratchy and smooth with a nice bump.
I want something as good as my cream yellow but for another build, but with linear instead of tactile. Do you have any recommendation ? Pretty happy with the cream yellow
i got the redragon linear cream yellows. rebranded outemu silent yellows love them super silent, also got the silent limes, feels like a membrane keyboard.
@@jorgemendez4517 Outemu SIlent Honey Peach is the linear version, also well regarded.
This is switch really helpful especially when i press 40notes/sec
Milktooth posts a video -> I press 👍
Whats the best silent for gaming? Silent, Linear, RGB?
I have the Boba U4 silent switches in one of my office keyboards but they are partially yellow and clear and white RGB edition. They used to have a yellow and white non RGB edition too. Do the black and yellow variant feel or sound different?
You won't hear any difference in silents, but on regular switches definitely and Gazzew changed material from Gazzew Boba to Gazzew plastic. Some vendors like Keygem use correct naming.
@@MateyDJ89 thanks for the info
Gazzew U4 with 75gr spring is my sweet spot
I hated the U4's, they feel very tiring for me. I bought the WS Linear Silents recently and love them, and for my preferences so much better than the Gazzew's
What Are Thoes Keycaps i like em
Brother I have question , I would appreciate if u would answer it , do the u4 fit in red dragon k644 se 65percent ??
Yep, compatible
at 4:45 what keycaps are those??!! I need arabic/english keycaps like that. also what're the other things in the keyboard so I can buy something similar
21kb.com/products/21kb-arabic-classic-retro-beige-keycap-set
MT3 Serika is other keycap set you see in the video
can you review ttc rabbit silent?
Hey, how do these compare to the TTC silent red V3s( just got them after watching your best linear switches(2023) video)?
Which switches are you trying to compare to the TTC Silent Reds?
The ones you mentioned in this video@@milktoothnu
@@pradyundevarakonda6849 Here's an article for reference: milktooth.nu/comparisons/silent-red-vs-u4
2;55 those WS stem are made by haimu? those stem remind me of the haimu heartbeat
Yep!
where is lichicx lucy? heard great review about it
Request from a newbie - Saw your 5 best tactile switches. Can you compare your fav tactile Baby Kangaroo with U4 and U4T? My experience with tactile so far is Cherry MX brown and mine does have some spring pings.
PS: I’ll definitely buy switches from your site.
For sure. Check out these comparison pages for the Baby Kangaroos vs U4 and U4T, respectively: milktooth.nu/comparisons/baby-kangaroo-vs-u4 and milktooth.nu/comparisons/baby-kangaroo-vs-u4t
@@milktoothnu Has the weighting of the U4 switches changed over time? I have a set of opaque white Gazzew U4 switches (~Nov. 2019, from an authorised seller) and they are 60g. Mine are definitely not 43g, they are amazing but also heavy and tiring.
@@sebastiandraxler6522 The U4 and U4Ts come in different weights. The ones in the articles reference the options with a 62g bottom out.
try the sea salt switches
The WS silents sound kinda loud, or is that the stabilizer sound?
WS Silents use cutouts as opposed to dampeners unlike their other silent switch counterparts. As such, they are a little louder compared to their other silent switches. The upshot is that the WS Silent switches feel stiffer than other silent switches (a common complaint is silent switches' mushiness caused by their silicone dampeners).
@@milktoothnuthank you for the clarification!
what are the least mushy silent switches?
WS Silent Tactiles or Linears since they use a cutout mechanism instead of dampening pads:
milktooth.nu/products/switches/ws-silent-tactile
milktooth.nu/products/switches/ws-silent-linear
Kailh Prestige Silent is what I got and it's dead silent.
3:2 aspect ratio is underrated
WS silent tactiles look like they're taking a page from Haimu woh was the first to do that cutout on the stem in their heartbeat. I stick with the epomaker silent sea salts, and they also use those cutouts on the legs...
WS Silent Tactiles are manufactured by Haimu
@@milktoothnu Yeah, I'm pretty sure everything on the market, at least here in the US, that's using those leg cuts are manufactured by Haimu.. probably some sort of patent in place for em. Cant wait to get my set of WS silent linears and 10 pack of the WS silent liners from yall.. just ordered em a couple days ago.
Could you do a video on Owlab Neon?
Great switches that are incredibly smooth but they can get LOUD depending on the build. Not in a bad way if that's what you're going for. I'm using some on a carbon fiber plate with no foams and it's loud and clacky.
are they really better then cherry mx silent red and mx silent black ?
Cherry silents are barely lubed and scratchy, they didn't change since 2016 but German friends say that new MX2A silents are better. Personally I would advise to try Gateron Gecko if You really need a switch similar to silent Cherry MX and Outemu silents which are my number one.
@@MateyDJ89 but you cant lube switch with rubber. for me I trust the build quality of the germen cherry mx silent red switches, the other clones look cheap to me.
my switches are so silent without lubing and I'm glade of my keyboard.
I have over 60 unique silent switches, don't tell me that You can't lube them. Just use PFPE (fluorinated) lubricants which are compatible with elastomers.
@@MateyDJ89 the rubber is going to make annoying sound if you add oil
bro it's 2023, Cherry is miles behind the competition. "Clones" are always being innovated upon and improved.
I once heard you mention a silent switch that sounded like “walking on snow”. You know which one was it? I can’t find the video lmao
Those are the TTC Silent Bluish Whites :)
TTC Frozen or U4s for gaming?
I'd go for frozens since they're linear

Lol where Outemu Peach Silent, which are best cheap silent linear switches?
And Silent Cream Yellow, which are a great silent tactile
yep outemu is the most silent to me. im using redragon peach, which is outemu silent rebranded.
Love the peach switches, very quiet but I just replaced them with the Invokeys Nightshade which I like much better. My current feelings for silent linear are Invokeys Nightshade > Outemu Peach > Gamakay Phoenix > Kailh Midnight Pro. The thing that makes the Peach and the Phoenix so good is the cost, both are excellent values. The Nightshades require more activation force, have a little farther travel, and have a crisper less mushy feel than the Peach. Also any sound you do hear is lower pitch thocky than the Peach. The Phoenix is higher pitch clacky. None of these keys are picked up by my microphone and I consider them all "silent" but I have vampire hearing so they're all loud to me anyway, even the Aplpe Magic keyboard is loud to me lol.
Would you recommend the Aqua Kings or U4 as an all-purpose switch (casual gaming and typing)? Thanks for the great video.
Aqua Kings are probably the safer pick. But if you like that heavy tactile feel, you'll really enjoy the U4s.
Too bad it's only in the US, price is very good for the european market. Really sad that it's so hard to buy a good keyboard at a reasonable price down here.
i like the outemu silent peach more than the gazzew i find them more silent tbh
Switches name?
Outemu silent peach v2
@@isitgoodtodo2834 ok thanks, and another silent switch you think is good?
epomaker sea salt silent is very quiet
Heey. What about AKKO Fairy? It's freaking void silent.
They're solid. Just reviewed them here: ua-cam.com/video/ZdhLGlIDNPs/v-deo.html
Hi love ur vids, could you please link ur arabic keycaps
21kb.com/products/21kb-arabic-classic-retro-beige-keycap-set
why cant i get a vid without the open mic poetry?
I want to create a switch company and release the teratactyl tactile switch... Because teradactyls...
ttc silent frozen v2 are the quietest in this list btw
how bout compared to the WS silent linear? or the bobagums?
@@user-tb2uz5mu8l no, i can easily say that ttc's are the quietest ones
