What a beautiful day this footage was taken on. This is exactly how I remember Blackpool in summer as a kid growing up, amazing memories. I live in Manchester so we used to have a ride out to Blackpool a lot. I’m 34 now so I grew up in the 90’s and remember it just like this, really happy times, loved the Pleasure Beach. Proper family days out, not like it is now (Blackpool in general not the PB) unfortunately.
Best video I've seen of the pleasure beach and why did they get rid of the log flume, what a ride that was knocks spots off Infusion as well as the gold mine, far better than Wallace and Gromit
Fascinating. I was in the park in 1992 and 1994. In 1992 there was a display of the Big One proposals which had me and my dad very intrigued hence we came back two years later when I rode The Big One first time. I presume the footage from the monorail is from 1993 as you can clearly see the support foundations for The Big One track (the station foundation) and the track that runs where the log flume used to be. I should look to see if I have any photos from this era. Definitely no video as I didn't have a camcorder yet. Thanks for uploading!
Great footage. I remember the park as it was captured here and they were some of the best memories ever. If only they could have kept some of the older rides as well as bringing in the new ones!
Some of these rides can be downloaded & ridden for nostalgia on the game 'planet coaster' PS5....(all dlc needs downloading too)....the ghost-train, river caves,Alice in wonderland, big dipper, gold mine even the log flume is there...... arthurperno 2 has videos on youtube and is same name on the game to subscribe to...he's done a great job!!!
Yes - I already had some footage of the original model that was destroyed in a fire at the Pleasure Beach so I included it here together with the replacement.
Back in the day when you could go to blackpool for a day out and spend a couple of hours in the pleasure beach just for fun. Now a small bank loan is needed to get a pass for my family just to enter this place so sad to see what greed has done to this place .
@@masterknife8423 Are you serious ??? £39 each for 12 years and over .£33 for under 12 years . So for me ,my partner and our 3 kids £177 ! !! Now add our travel plus food an you're looking at £ 300 to visit a run down dump.
@@masterknife8423 the big one didn't open until May 1994 . Yes it was expensive I remember but other rides were £1.50 to £2.00 . My point is you could walk around and be a part of it all without spending a fortune . You would go on with a bunch of mates and only ride certain rides while you waited for your mates to ride others ,now you pay to ride all ride regardless
@@ianhadfield65 But also it was a different time as well. This decade has been a lot more dangerous and if the park still had free entry god knows how many thugs could wander into the park and cause chaos. Plus the entry fee stops school kids from wandering out as well. I personally like the wristbands you can't say no to unlimited rides man
Why not just get an unlimited all year round pass yes it's for locals apparently but I think all you need is friends or relations here in the sh💩t hole sorry I should have said town
Love this, it was such a magical time to visit in the 90s
It was indeed! Thank you for your comment.

Fabulous memories of much missed wonderful family rides. The Log Flume was a classic ride and should never have been removed.
The log flume , I miss it still , the park was better then for sure
Ahh the maze I got lost in it once love the video brings back happy memories
So many memories 💛
My family must've visited Blackpool at least twice a year when I was a kid 🇬🇧
Happy memories.
Shame we lost the monorail. It gave a lovely tour of the park.

Great film capturing lots of my memories. The Monorail and Log Flume should never have gone. Great that we get to "ride" them.
Ahh the nostalgia!!! Great upload.

I remember queuing for the Big One after it opened. A 3 Hour wait and £4.00 to ride. Good times indeed.
Love this thank you 💕

The ghost train has changed so much. I remember the ticket booth on the ride lol

I think there’s been some extremely questionable decisions since the 90s
The Tidal Wave/Pirate Ship ride featured i n the TV series "COASTING" - They held a bizarre funeral ceremony on it !
5.22 nightmare induciung lol. the pleasure beach was great in the 80,s so many good rides.
I wish I could see more footage of the laughing man near the fun house
The park looks very different without the Big Blue hotel and the Big One. What used to be in it's place?
Oo - I don't remember the steam train ride - was that on the same site where the Tom Sawyer ride used to be ?
Haha advertising the first PlayStation omg I feel old
Superb
0.18 a arrhghhh 😱😱😱 I use to run up to that hoping I was tall for the big one 😭😭😭 great memories and that laughing man 😱
5:14 is that the original laughing man? Then it moves over to another?
Yes - I already had some footage of the original model that was destroyed in a fire at the Pleasure Beach so I included it here together with the replacement.
Weird how some clips are before and after the big one was built

Dude it's not that expensive ffs. Greed hasn't ruined the place in fact over investment is what nearly ruined the park

Laughing man is now by avalanche (bob slay) and it’s 20p per laughing fit
Its all £££££ there nowadays. £50 to gain entry & go on the rides😢Get fooked.
It still looks the same😂😂😂😂
