  • Nick Wright, Chris Broussard, and Kevin Wildes discuss Denver Broncos coaching issues with head coach Nathaniel Hackett. Broussard explains it would not be a big deal if the Broncos fired Hackett after their Week 8 Matchup vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars. Nick explains firing Hackett will not do anything beneficial for the team because it will only highlight deeper issues with Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson.

He should have been fired as he walked to the locker room after the first game fiasco. You had first down...one minute and 14 seconds left in the game...and you let the clock tick away to take a 64 yard field goal at sea-level instead of trying to get closer. I am sorry...the fact it is taking this long to get rid of him only speaks to as how dysfunctional the entire system is.

Hackett definitely isn't the only major problem, but he clearly isn't the guy. Russ has been 💩and the Broncos still could've been potentially 5-2 without terrible playcalling and decision making. The team (mostly the offense) is undisciplined, unprepared and lacks attention to detail. That's on Russ and Hackett.

That's very concerning going forward because it isn't a physical issue anyone can point to with him. This is deer in headlights syndrome and Shannon Sharpe on one of his bits summed it up really well by saying this year he looks like he don't want to get hit and once you lose that edge it's usually gone for good.

In Nick's own words, Allen beating Mahomes in the regular season means NOTHING! So, by Nick's own logic, old Brady is undefeated against Mahomes in the post season and has won twice as many super bowls since Mahomes has been in the NFL, beating Mahomes both times to win those super bowls. When Brady was at Mahomes age in the league, young Brady won THREE TIMES THE NUMBER OF SUPER BOWLS AS MAHOMES! So both Young Brady and old Brady is by Nick's standards, UNARGUABLY BETTER THAN MAHOMES! Then between young and old Tom Brady he won Three other super bowls! So how can he be the best when not only was young Brady better, but old Brady as well? That's not even including the three super bowls between young and old Brady..... Nick makes sense in terms of why you might keep Hackett. However, I think long-term, that’s a cancerous thing to do to a team. Firing the coach now sends the team a message that you care about winning, and a team who believes they don’t have the right coach, has some sense of hope that the organization is serious about turning things around. If you keep the coach, you send a signal to the locker room that as an organization, you want to deliberately tank. And these players have limited windows where they can have an NFL career. Each year is precious to that player who is one injury away from never playing the game again. Or just one more year and age which makes them one step closer to being outside their prime.

The thing about Russ telling the sideline to yell run or pass was because he didn't change his hand signals from when he was qb in Seattle and mid game he realized that the defense could tell what was going on no matter what so he might as well have it yelled from the sideline because the Seahawks D was going to know either way

oh boy ... I know football players do not need to be Einsteins, but come on... if this is true - their oh so glorious always high-flying 240 million man forgot to remember about this? Overall it becomes pretty clear that the QB is the problem, not just the bad coach. The owners are heirs of the Walton Family? They really deserve each other. Dumb money all along.

WHAT?! He was wanting the OFFENSE to tell the DEFENSE what was happening as soon as they saw it. I mean, it's still goofy but it wasn't as tho he wanted HIS plays yelled into him from the sideline. If you go back to the games with no fans during Covid, you can hear a lot of teams doing it.
