When a car is set up for run flat tyres the suspension is set different for it because the run flat tyres are really hard so if you put normal tyres on a run flat tyre set up car the suspension will have to be set up too. Hence the reason why BMW simply denied installing normal tyres on your Z4. It is absolutely not preferable to put normal tyres on a run flat tyre set up car!
