Orb Weaver spider

WARNING! Arachnophobes: SCROLL AWAY! Spider ahead!
Meet Dotty! 🕷️
This daring spotted orb weaver spider has set up her high-wire trapeze act right near my front porch.
If I'm up early enough, I'll glimpse her carefully packing up her expansive web, before hoisting herself up into her treetop hideaway for a daytime snooze.
When night falls and it is good and dark, she gets back to work. She meticulously spot-welds each intersection of her intricate trap, preparing for her next meal. 🕸️
Any bug unfortunate enough to fly into her stealthy web promptly gets wrapped into a small bundle for her pantry.
The sun comes up and it's time for Dotty to methodically deconstruct her web again. Watch her at the 1.30 minute mark, as she eats up her silky web before heading back up to her daytime lounge.
