For me it was the opposite. I loved Flygon and couldnt figure out how to get one as a kid, because I thought Trapinch was the stupidest thing ever and didn't want to catch it.

I used to like Flygon, now I dislike it, and love Trapinch

@@rockowlgamer631 As someone who spent most of his childhood vacations in Galveston, I just can't wrap my head around thalassophobia. If you live in the continental US, the worst things that can happen to you in the ocean are jellyfish stings and pinches from crustaceans with particularly meaty claws. Okay, _maybe_ dolphins and orcas can harass you too. All those gross-looking sea cucumbers and cnidarians and shit live waaaaay too deep for you to have to deal with them, and marine predators just don't prey on humans unless they're desperate and you're bleeding very badly. Statistically, you're more likely to die from a coconut falling on your head than from a shark attack.
Then again, Galveston Bay is as bleak and devoid of life as the city itself, so what do I know.
It isn't just a hollow intimidation tactic either- Wishiwashi really does get considerably stronger in School forme!
Depending on who you are, Incineroar is either a Pokemon some people would be creeped out if they didn't break eye contact, or the complete opposite.

And to think, all we had to do to get this game was hand the IP over to the Digimon people.
To be honest, I think Cyber Sleuth looked way better than Sword and Shield. So not only can Bandai Namco make better-looking Pokemon games than GameFreak, they can also make better-looking Digimon games than GameFreak's Pokemon games. Also, I remember hearing that the Digimon people want to make a game that has ALL Digimon in it. So they actually want you to be able to get them all. You know, Pokemon's motto? "Gotta catch 'em all!" Meanwhile, Pokemon says "oh, future games won't have all Pokemon". Man. Amazing.
@@obot321sucks4 Cyber Sleuth only looked better than Sword and Shield because it WAS better than Sword and Shield. It did have its own issues though. The animation and graphical quality was still fairly low, but that was due to it being a Vita game that got ported the same way its follow-up and Next Order were. It also had some notable pacing problems, but that was easier to overlook because the time that was used on filler generally had something fun or interesting to offer story-wise, an once things did get back on track the story was an enjoyable one that reminded me of watching the series as a kid. The only objective issue after that, really, was that the multiplayer is kinda lame and not balanced well, but Digimon has always had that problem because balance tends to fly in the face of the series' priorities; namely flash, flavor and rewarding your grinding.
Snap really makes me want to see what the team can do with Digimon if they were given a proper budget. Survive was promising, but has been stuck in development for a very long time now and I'm concerned it's going to reverse the goodwill the series has accrued over the last few titles due to development problems leading to a sub-par result.
I don't recall that part about wanting to add all the Digimon, because that's actually a gargantuan task the team doesn't have the budget to do and never has. The wiki lists over 2000 Digimon, and that's a number that's absolutely nuts to add even for a big studio, let alone a fairly small, underfunded one.
Edit: My math was bad. The wiki actually cites 1366 species.
@@mariofan1ish 2 THOUSAND? Dear lord. I understand why Digimon wouldn't be able to add them all. But Pokemon doesn't have an excuse since one: they copied and pasted the 3DS models, so that means they could do it for all Pokemon. They just didn't. And two: their motto is to catch them all. You can't catch 'em all if not all Pokemon are in the game.
@@obot321sucks4 Pokemon officially dropped that Slogan with Gen 3, and it has not appeared in the main games since. It was revived after the nostalgia-fest that was X/Y, but still hasn't made a proper return to the series. So it's not like the teams aren't aware of that being an issue (The Japanese slogan, GET Pokemon!, is a bit more vague and applicable to all gens, but still).
As for the asset flips.... yeah that's pretty hard to forgive, particularly when they cited better animations and such for the roster being cut down. Digimon does this too. Digimon World 2 had a LOT of assets reused from World 1, and Cyber Sleuth's models have been reused for Next Order and Hacker's Memory. It's a cost-efficient means of keeping a larger pool of content between sequels. The difference is that Bamco never *lied* about new assets.
I'm not defending Gen 8. In fact I think it's a travesty. But I do think it's unfair to criticize Pokemon for doing something wrong and praising Digimon despite doing the exact same thing, and complaining about the Gotta Catch Em All motto when the series itself hasn't officially used it in 17 years. Context is important, and there's a reason for... well, not EVERYTHING, but most things.
@@mariofan1ish Understandable. I now have new info that Bandai Namco technically do the same thing of reusing models and that Pokemon dropped that motto. But hey, at least you also think that Gen 8 is a travesty, and I respect that to hell and back.

If this wasn't a detailed game, it'd kinda ruin the whole point of it being, y'know, a photography game. The entire point of the game is to take pictures of Pokemon, if they didn't sink a lot of effort into making it look good the entire appeal of the game gets hit.

To answer your question, I’ve seen multiple hints suggesting that this game will likely get a dlc island.
When you find all the Pokémon on an island, you get a sticker put on your photodex. After getting all the stickers, there’s a conspicuously sticker-sized empty space still left between two of them.
There’s also a large, suspiciously empty space on the final full map. Practically the whole lower-right quarter of the map is just water.
Finally, there’s still some loose ends left at the end of the story that even the characters acknowledge haven’t been resolved. To me, it is clearly setting up dlc that ties directly into the story.

2:39 same my dude. growing up on Gold/Silver/Crystal, there were Pokemon i loved and those i never touched like Gligar. then later on Ash catches one and as soon as it was being cute and goofy, i just started to love it. i guess when i like a certain Pokemon, it has to be shown actual emotion which helps with newer games since you have features to pet and feed them now and you get to see them react and do more than fight.
I get that. I never really thought much of Ekans until i played one of the games that let you pet the pokemon. It's one of my favorites now.

Back in '99 the average price of a game rarely broke $40 in either USD or CAD. The price of almost all luxuries has doubled in 20 years.
That said, Switch games are always overpriced.
Honestly this game seems so much more charming than Sword and Shield. Maybe they should get this team to do the animations from now on.

I generally use the time played/replayability to determine if the game is worth the price.
If you can sink 60+ hours into a $60 game, it's worth the money.
Edit: I agree, Trapinch is an absolute baby but I wish it wasn't a part of the Flygon line.
