John and Bobby you guys are the best .Talking about class act that is you I just love every single video you put out there and this one is top notch .Love y'all so much ❤❤
Thank you for the nice compliment. We try to go to places when they first open. So we don't get a lot of people in the video. Thank you for watching and commenting. 😎😎
@@jbinthehills No, thank you for highlighting something we never even heard of! Any chance you will make it to the NEW National Christmas Museum in Middletown?
Oh! So lucky to have met the Nelson twins ,Was a big fan of their dad Rick. They seam like 👍 very nice young men . You two are so lucky to have met them. I watch your videos when ever one is on. Love ❤️ from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
I watched every single episode of the Ozzie and Harriet show as a child growing up. There grandfather and grandma we're instrumental in early television, they were outstanding people.
Thank you . We appreciate it. They put on a great show singing their Dad's songs and telling stories about him. They both are great guys. Thanks for watching and commenting 😎😎
A warm and welcoming feeling when you enter Bird-In-Hand. Family dining feeling, at the best. Like Grandma's house on Sunday. The food looked so fresh and appealing. So many choices. I likes the salad bar too, very much. The set up for the children is adorable . I was eyeing up that Whoopie Pie cake, looked so so good ! Thank you another great vlog, as always blessings.
Thank you for the video. My parents used to bring me there on vacation, when we were living in Mass. Now they are both gone, and I moved to PA in 2018, and still haven't been there since.
HI J&B, GORGEOS VIDOO OF THE AMISH ONCE AGAIN. THANK YOU FOR TAKING ME ALONG. WHAT A SURPRIZE CLIP OF ELVIS AND THE NELSON TWINS. I LOVE RICKY NELSON AND SO HAPPY THAT THEY FOLLOW IN THEIR DAD'S FOOTSTEPS AND ALSO DO TRIBUTES AND SHOWING THEIR RESPECT. THEY ARE SO DOWN TO EARTH PEOPLE. LOVE THEM. SO HAPY THAT YOU COULD GET PHOTOGRAPHS AND AUTOGRAPH, MUST HAVE BEEN VERY EXCITING FOR YOU GUYS. THANKS FOR SHARING THIS AS WELL. STAY SAFE AND GOD BLESS.
They both were so friendly. They talked to everyone and signed autographs. We enjoyed hearing them sing their Dad's songs and telling stories about him.😎😎
Nelson has played in some small-town venues, including the Sellersville, PA theater earlier this summer. Their early 90's pretty boy look belied the fact that they are pretty decent musicians.
Love the Nelson bit at the end. I've never really followed them or know much about them, but they sure sounded good singing their dad's songs in that one clip. Love the Nirvana play on the Nelson shirt he was wearing! 🤣
Thank you for posting. I'm glad I found this video & didn't waste my money on the lunch/dinner buffet. I would only eat a few things since nothing else caught my eye.
Great video food looked awesome but what made this video special was the tribute to Ricky Nelson his son's are keeping his music alive loved it Thank you both for sharing and Take care you both are Awesome
Nicely done guys. The food items on the buffet looked homemade like it came out of moma's kitchen. I think the price was very fair too. That was a nice bonus at the end with the Nelson boys. Yea, I guess we're all getting a little older, but they'll never lose their talent. Keep up the good work. I'll be watching. Your friend Mike.
Oh I loved Ricky Nelson.. especially the movie with John Wayne and Dean Martin, he would be so proud of his son’s.. thanks for sharing and I’m on a binge watch with your foodie program.. just enjoy it so much..😁
Video was fabulous and I gained a few pounds while watching you eat. Ricky Nelson was my fav back in the day. I used to watch the family sitcom, Ozzie & Harriet. I remember when his plane crashed and he was killed on New Year's Eve in the mid 80s. Thanks for including this in your video.
I’m so glad that you went to The Bird in Hand Restaurant - we love it there any time of day! My favorites are the ham balls, buttered noodles, meat loaf, fried chicken, bread filling, Lima beans and stewed tomatoes - all the Pennsylvania Dutch items are great. For your next visit don’t miss the corn chowder (best around) and the Hot Bacon Salad Dressing is amazing! Here’s a little hint - you can ask for whipped cream for any of your desserts - there’s always someone behind the dessert area. It’s fun to make a little hot fudge sundae if you have room left. Thanks as always for your great reviews!
Recent new subscriber....I am enjoying the videos of all the great stops in Lancaster County Pa. Lived there for several years...hope to make our way back ASAP! Bird in Hand has always been one of our favorites. The grounds out in back of the property are very nice as well. A nice pond with a walking trail around it. You can also feed the fish and ducks in the pond. Beautiful views of the surrounding farms !
My husband and I always have the buffet when we visit Lancaster. I’ll have to make another trip. We haven’t been to Pa., in a few years. Thanks for the reminder.
Thanks for your review of Bird in Hand Family Restaurant. I had no idea that Ricky Nelson even had sons...let alone sons that were performers, so thanks for sharing this as well! Really cool story John! My mother had all of Ricky's 45 records, so my brother and I grew up playing and listening to them. Good memories for sure!! Great pics John & Bobbie! 💞
I saw the Nelsons at the FL Strawberry Festival right before Covid shut us down. Loved them. I saw their dad at the Cellar Door in Washington, DC when he was singing Garden Party. Miss him so much! I grew up watching Ozzie and Harriet.
Good Afternoon John ab.nd Bobbi! Oh I Love Bird and Hand. It sounds like you are having a great time. I have never been to the American Theater. I must give it a try. Ihave been a number of times to sight and sound. Thank you for sharing this video with us. So until next time God Bless you both and have a Blessed day and stay safe my dear and Special Friends. 💚🙂🦋
The American Music Theater has a lot of good shows check them out. We like the Sight and Sound. We have seen all their shows except for this new one David. We need to get back and see it.😎😎
We couldn’t wait until the fall as originally planned, so we went yesterday. We did the lunch buffet. The ham ball was amazing. So awesome! Thanks for giving us the inspiration to go. We had a great time!

Thank you for subscribing. Thank you for your kind words. We are Elvis fans. We got married at a chapel behind Graceland. The Lancaster are is beautiful and a lot of good Restaurants. Thanks for watching and commenting 😎😎
Another enjoyable buffet video. Like the different choices available in Amish country. For the first time they had my favorite dark meat turkey. Being from Massachusetts for me they only clam is a full belly clam and some of the best in Cape COD. Feeling the passage of time seeing the Nelson twins now and remembering Ozzie and Harriet as a favorite show. By the way on the CC front on John's trip around the buffet at the beginning "baked cod" became "baked god". Wonder what they get paid.
Thank you. We went to the Manor Buffet years ago. We were not doing UA-cam at the time, but the food was very good. We might have to put that on our list.😎😎
We just got home yesterday from that area and we had breakfast at that restaurant before we left to come home. The buffet was awesome and the food was delicious. Thanks for sharing.
Food looked great and I like how they make the smaller servings of the dessert. Seeing Nelson at the end was a wonderful surprise…it’s great to see them singing their Dad’s music. They were so nice to the fans signing autographs and taking photos…show business definitely runs in their family. I’m going to check if they will be in the Atlanta area, I’d love to see them.
John and Bobbie Another great video! Your candid and honest comments are appreciated. What a cool surprise to see Nelson! They are talented and know their music as well that of their famous dad, 🎸🎶🎸 Rick. He would be proud of all of his kids. From what I've read and seen Gunner and Matthew have worked very hard on their music. They definitely look like Rick. ❤️ Loves both videos. ☺️💜💜

Hey guys - well done video as usual! Here's a little tip I found out about when we were there for lunch a couple weeks ago. We were told it would be a 20 minute wait to be seated. My cousin didn't want to wait so we went over to the counter seating area for a sandwich. There were only 2 other people sitting at the counter. When the waitress came over for our order she told us we could have the buffet if that was what we wanted. She said just walk over there and bring it back over here. I was surprised at that. John, I hope you did try their shoe-fly pie either there or down the road at the bakery. It is THE BEST you will find in Amish country! The Nelson bonus was awesome too.
That is nice to know that you can go sit at the counter and get the buffet. John did not get the shoo fly pie this time . The Nelson's put on a show. Very friendly. 😎😎
Thanks again. It's pretty good the best deal in town is Dienners. They are not as big but cheaper. But this place has a great buffet also. Don't forget the largest Buffet in the US is 25 minutes from here. Shady Maple. Alot of choices.😎😎
Was happy to get to see Ricky in concert in the early 80’s…Matthew and Gunnar (and their 2 siblings) had a rough childhood, especially after the divorce. 😢 Love their music. I bought that “After the Rain” album when it came out in 1990.❤ The food looks delicious. Road trip. I enjoy having so many options at a buffet, and try to take very small portions, so I can try several dishes. (New-ish subscriber.)
Matthew and Gunnar were so friendly. I grew up listening to them. I take small portions, too. I like trying several dishes also. Thanks for watching. 😎😎
Still catching up with your videos and like I said before one of my favorite places to go at least once or twice a year is Lancaster PA. Great place Bird In Hand as is Millers, Good and Plenty and Hershey Farm that burned down and is rebuilding. Thank you for your videos. Be well , be safe and remember, it’s only rock n roll 🎸👍
Great video guys as always!! Loved the added bonus Those boys are as handsome as their Dad Showing my age but….. I loved the show Ozzie & Harriet 🌼 Waited to see Ricky Nelson sing during the episodes Thanks again for the “memories”
I will be in Gettysburg late June 2025 to July 5th . Many thanks to both of you , J &B .. You have been a great help to me !! I will give you a shout out in my video log !!
Pretty memorable getting to meet and smooch with the Nelson Brothers. Too Cool! Looks very good to me and the prices sound good. I went to their website to see current prices and menus. It's a big website and they are more than just a restaurant. I think the dinner would be worth the extra $5 Too bad we don'y have them here. We do have some decent ones here in western Washington though.
Definitely like it there, love cod and zucchini, can't wait to try. I'm spoiled, our Amish market is about 5 miles from my house. Meatloaf always A+. Glad they have diabetic deserts.
Yes I don't like the dark meat as well. Especially chicken I love the breast the best. Appreciate you watching us. We are not professional food vloggers we just love showing people what is out there. 😎😎
Hey guys. The wife and I always seem to just miss you. I started going to Lancaster area in 1973 with my family, then when I met my wife in late 80's I started bringing her. then the kids. Have you guys ever tried Agape for breakfast or lunch? Located on 896 south of Steamboat, north of Creamery, near Tractor Supply. Good food and they have a little home shop next door. Only one problem, to quote Yogi Berra, " it's so crowded nobody goes there anymore"!
We have been in the parking lot several times and decided not to go in because of the crowd. Even the outside seating was packed. It's hard to film anything with that many people. People look at us like what are they doing with that camera. Also I noticed they are very expensive for the food we thought. Must be good though. We will try to do it in fall or winter months when less people are there. Thank you for watching. 😎😎
I watch you both on UA-cam all the time. And I noticed that you guys come to Lancaster Pa a lot. I’d really like to meet you both someday. Im a lifelong resident of Lancaster. Love you guys ❤🥰
It all looks good, I'd have to have turkey because it's so hard to find turkey dinners in California, it's something I always crave but we just can't find it much of anywhere. That salad bar looks delicious too. John, I would have put a little of that hot bacon salad dressing over the green beans, yum. I usually eat a big salad first, then the proteins, I skip the potatoes and such and if there is enough room for it I'd have a slice of sugar free pie. Thank you for sharing this with us.
We have eaten there a few times but it was awhile back. The food still looks as good now as it did back then. I have never eaten a ham ball. Nice to hear that John really enjoyed it. The Nelson guys seem so down to earth. Those were nice pictures the two of you took with them. I could really hear their dad in them in the singing clips.
Almost bought tix for their show too, but I've had my mother at the AMT 3 times this year already lol Glad ya'll had a good time! And great vid as always. You know you're in Lancaster County when there are ham balls, it's hard to pick who has the best honestly.
They make the best tapioca pudding there. Also think they have some of the best chicken corn soup in the area. Best pickled beet eggs, too. Bird in Hand and Dienner’s are our must go to places when we go to PA.
We love the bird in hand restaurant, we live close. But, my favorite part of this video was the Nelson twins. They were very down to earth and so gracious! Thank you for the clicks of older videos of them. Great pictures of the both of you!
They are very down to eat. It was like we knew them forever it was so easy to talk to them. We loved the tribute show .They sang their Dad's songs and told stories about him. Great show 😎😎
The food look great. We ate there many years ago and it was good but i guess im partial to Shady Maple but then i only live 20 minutes from there. Most of the PA dutch food is so good, especially the baked goods.
Excelent video, as always! We are excited that we might be at the same concert! It will be an opportunity to thank you guys in person all the contribution you have given to our trip. So, LET’S ROCK AND ROLL! 😝 Luís and Isabela from Brazil.
Love you guys hey give a shout out to sandy and Darlene from Oklahoma city you're grand children are beautiful their real cuties so darling just adorable
Hi guys! Love your videos. Were going from ny to pigeon forge and were going to be on i81 for a lot of the trip. Can you point me to any of your restaurant videos which are close to i81? Thanks again. Youre a lovely couple!
I think Gettysburg is the closest and it's 24 miles off of interstate but Chambersburg has a Bononza we just ate at and filmed. Only 8 of these left in USA. Most of our reviews are in Lancaster PA and not sure how far that is off 81. Sorry we can't be more helpful. Stay safe and have fun. Make sure to go to the Old Mill in Pigeon Forge. 😎😎
Whoa! Green veg on your plate??!! Haha Bobby, have you ever tried a little cranberry sauce with vanilla ice cream? It’s kind of good, especially if it’s homemade cranberry sauce. 🍧
sooo, im just going to put it out there on this one. i dont think much of their food is homemade. but thats just my opinion from the video. but i still watch all of your videos and love them very much. :-)

They have a nice buffet. They kept everything full. Thanks for watching. 😎😎

Thank you for the nice compliment. We try to go to places when they first open. So we don't get a lot of people in the video. Thank you for watching and commenting. 😎😎

A lot of good places to eat in Lancaster. Have safe and fun trip. 😎😎
You've sold me on coming here next time we're in Lancaster County! Planning a trip in the fall. You guys are AWESOME! :)
Thanks again. It's pretty good the best deal in town is Dienners. They are not as big but cheaper. But this place has a great buffet also. Don't forget the largest Buffet in the US is 25 minutes from here. Shady Maple. Alot of choices.😎😎
@@jbinthehills - Sounds like a multi-day road trip.❤
We heard about Hershey Farms burned down and Food and Plenty closed. We plan on going back to this area soon. 😎😎
Great bonus footage! I didn’t know he had twins!
They look just like their Dad. They are so nice.😎😎
Great video guys as always!!
Loved the added bonus
Those boys are as handsome as their Dad
Showing my age but…..
I loved the show Ozzie & Harriet 🌼
Waited to see Ricky Nelson sing during the episodes
Thanks again for the “memories”
They do look like their Dad. It wad a goid show. They sang their Dad's songs and told stories about him. 😎😎
I enjoy the way you pronounce potatoes and tomatoes 💜
Didnt think we said it different. Glad you enjoyed it though. 😎😎
I will be in Gettysburg late June 2025 to July 5th . Many thanks to both of you , J &B .. You have been a great help to me !! I will give you a shout out in my video log !!
Have a great time in Gettysburg. We are glad our videos are helpful. Gettysburg is one of our favorite places to visit. Thanks for watching. 😎😎
That was a very good looking buffet
It is a nice buffet. Thanks for watching 😎😎
That's great that you got to meet Nelson! Heard they are good people. Love their last name! 😉
They are very nice and friendly. 😎😎
Pretty memorable getting to meet and smooch with the Nelson Brothers. Too Cool!
Looks very good to me and the prices sound good. I went to their website to see current prices and menus. It's a big website and they are more than just a restaurant. I think the dinner would be worth the extra $5
Too bad we don'y have them here. We do have some decent ones here in western Washington though.
The Nelson Brothers were so nice. They did a great Tribute to their Dad. Thanks for watching and commenting 😎😎
@@jbinthehillsThanks for the entertaining video.
Definitely like it there, love cod and zucchini, can't wait to try. I'm spoiled, our Amish market is about 5 miles from my house. Meatloaf always A+. Glad they have diabetic deserts.
John and I always say we wish we had a nice marketplace like they do in Amish country.😎😎
Great Video John & Bobbie. Nice Selection on their Buffet. 🤗
As a Culinarian & Foodie I agree with you John on white meat turkey. So much better 🙌
Yes I don't like the dark meat as well. Especially chicken I love the breast the best. Appreciate you watching us. We are not professional food vloggers we just love showing people what is out there. 😎😎
@@jbinthehills same here! I enjoy white meat chicken too. You guys are great! I enjoy your videos. ❤️🙌
OMG, I think I may have eaten here back in the 70s!
They have been around for a long time. 😎😎
Awesome video!!
Thank you 😎😎
Yum! Great video.
Thank you😎😎
Oh yeah I remember this place awesome. ❤
It is very nice 😎😎
LOL! Rookie mistake! No gravy on the turkey! 😂 As always, love your vids. You guys are awesome! Thank you for sharing your adventures.
The turkey did need gravy. I always put gravy over my turkey at Thanksgiving. Thanks for watching 😎😎
Always…gravy.❤
Buffers in Amish Country used to be better values, but sadly it seems that that is yet another casualty of inflation.
Everything is going up. It is sad😎😎
Mr.Joe says “ahhh c’mon man” 👴🏼
We appreciate you watching and commenting. We need to get back to Lancaster. It is a beautiful area. 😎😎
They had a nice salad bar. Thar is a good idea to pit the hot bacon dressing over the green beans. Thanks for watching and commenting 😎😎
John loves the Ham balls. The Nelson's look and sound like their Dad. They are very friendly. 😎😎
Everything looked good. I like the Italian style green beans
Thanks for watching and commenting 😎😎
You guys had me at fried clams and apple crisp!😋
Both were very good. 😎😎
That looked delicious. I'm a fan of plexiglass over buffet's.
I am a fan of it too.😎😎
Almost bought tix for their show too, but I've had my mother at the AMT 3 times this year already lol Glad ya'll had a good time! And great vid as always. You know you're in Lancaster County when there are ham balls, it's hard to pick who has the best honestly.
The American Music Theater have some great shows. We also enjoy coming here.😎😎
They make the best tapioca pudding there. Also think they have some of the best chicken corn soup in the area. Best pickled beet eggs, too. Bird in Hand and Dienner’s are our must go to places when we go to PA.
Everything was very good. Thanks for watching and commenting 😎😎
Great show 😎😎
If you guys ever get back to Lancaster County again there's a very neat mini golf course behind the bird in hand family restaurant
We played miniature golf there before. It was fun😎😎
The food look great. We ate there many years ago and it was good but i guess im partial to Shady Maple but then i only live 20 minutes from there. Most of the PA dutch food is so good, especially the baked goods.
We like Shady Maples too. The baked goods in this area are some of the best. Thanks for watching and commenting 😎😎
Excelent video, as always! We are excited that we might be at the same concert! It will be an opportunity to thank you guys in person all the contribution you have given to our trip. So, LET’S ROCK AND ROLL! 😝 Luís and Isabela from Brazil.
We might be here. Johnny is amazing. 😎😎
Hi guys!! Are you in the concert?? Looking forward to meet you 😃
@@drluisfiliperoriz No we didn't get to make it to the concert. Sorry we missed you.😎😎
Love you guys hey give a shout out to sandy and Darlene from Oklahoma city you're grand children are beautiful their real cuties so darling just adorable
Those babies are precious soooo cute
Thank you 😎😎
We will write their names down. Thanks for watching and commenting 😎😎
Yummy 😋
Thanks for watching. 😎😎
Great video. Those guys sure got handsome, say?
Thank you. They are very nice. 😎😎
@@jbinthehills thank you guys for the tips! Old mill is on the list, it looks beautiful! Keep up the good work :)
Whoa! Green veg on your plate??!! Haha
Bobby, have you ever tried a little cranberry sauce with vanilla ice cream?
It’s kind of good, especially if it’s homemade cranberry sauce. 🍧
I know I was shocked he got green beans too. Lol I have never tried cranberries on ice cream cream but I will now.😎😎
Spectacularly ordinary!
Thanks for watching 😎😎
I wish y'all would try the cold prepared salads and rank them too. Also interested in that hot salad dressing.
We will try a few more things off the salad bar. We have tried the hot bacon grease before we do like it. But it's not good if it's cold.😎😎
sooo, im just going to put it out there on this one. i dont think much of their food is homemade. but thats just my opinion from the video. but i still watch all of your videos and love them very much. :-)
Some of the food items were homemade. And some were not. Thanks for watching 😎😎
Now that is my kind of smorgasbord!
It was very good. Alot of food for lunch. 😎😎
The beans looked like a variation of calico beans which is popular here in PA and delish
They were very good. Place was pretty good. 😎😎
My parents love this restaurant 🙂
It is a nice buffet. Thanks for watching 😎😎
I love chicken corn soup!!
We didn't try any soup that day.😎😎
@@jbinthehills sometimes it's to hot for soup
@@TrishPage you are right and it was hot that day😎😎
Everything looked so good but, I'll pass on the clams! Really enjoyed your video.
Thanks for watching 😎😎
