Hello! My hubby and I have been enjoying your videos and just subscribed. I was wondering what your advice would be to a couple of newbies who have very little experience with boating other than the occasional outings with friends who own boats on lakes. We are interested in learning more about boating, cruising, sailing...etc... We also want very much to visit the Bahamas! Any advice would be appreciated!
Hey, thanks for watching and subscribing! Anything we do on the water is on someone else's boat. One of the reasons we started to film our trips was because many of the Bahamas video on UA-cam are from boaters and we wanted to put a different perspective. I would absolutely recommend subscribing to the @SearchingforCShels channel for boat content in the Bahamas. Their films are amazing. They have not done much content in the last year or so, but go back over their older stuff. With the Bahamas in general, work out what you want from your vacation. If you want the all inclusive or hotel type break with a more Florida type feel, then Nassau is your place (we haven't been but understand Grand Bahamas is similar). For what we would consider a more true Bahamas vibe, the family islands are where it is at. We always AirBnB or Vrbo. If you want the warmest water, travel between April and August, but remember it is hurricane season. It is EXPENSIVE. Everything is imported and there is no income tax, so everything in imported and heavily taxed. You need a car and that will add $80 - $100 per day to your visit. Be prepared that one visit in never enough. Once found, you will return time after time. Pop over to our website and reach out if you have specific question. Would love to help if we can. www.sarandipitytravel.com
