Always a great year when Domain casually returns after 7 months
When Domain is quiet and absent, it means he is busy. I wonder what he has done with 7 months.
It has been 7 months? Woah that's not too long ago. Also what in the hell, you here too.
Maguire's Rule For Drainage
This is the catalyst that created the modern economic era.
Maguire's Rule -- Vary the gradient of the fall of a pipe with the diameter of a pipe and the pipe is self cleaning with low and intermittent flow rates.
Maguire's Rule applied to sewers.
Thus sewers that had been open so they could be unblocked when they blocked up however this created an acute problem with disease.
Applying Maguire's Rule society can move from open sewers that create an acute problem with disease too sealed sewers as the pipe is self cleaning with low and intermittent flow rates.
Sealed sewer pipes drop in disease urbanisation.
Maguire's Rule for drainage is the catalyst that really created the modern era.
From Maguire's Rule for drainage modern plumbing developed thus rising population and rising population density in urban areas resulting in more competition using the Capitalist Economic Model.
From Maguire's Rule for drainage being to vary the gradient of the fall of a pipe with the diameter of a pipe the modern Global Capitalist Society developed.
Challenge anyone to refute the above.
Comments welcome
@@CENTRIX4 What does the how to do with the comment or video?
@@yytyyy5329 The real reason disease plunged within society is modern plumbing encompassing sewage treatment.
The start of modern plumbing had been Maguire's Rule For Drainage.
Maguire's Rule For Drainage is the catalyst that created the modern economic era.
As Maguire's Rule for Drainage is so important it must be included in the Map of Medicine.

As an aspiring doctor and someone who has a crazy fixation for medicine, I can't thank you enough for this video. I've been trying to find something like this for ages. Nothing of this nature has ever been made and posted on youtube ever; and what's crazy is that it's not even from a doctor. Thank you for such a great vid
He actually is a doctor just not a medical one

I agree!!!
This video needs to play in all Dr waiting rooms on a loop and the series in schools helping kids pick what they want to do with their lives... Incredible work!
I am still just a first-year med student, but I am still incredibly impressed by how well and accurately you were able to summarize the field, good job :)
Are you a urologists, Mr/Mrs, yurineri?
Nope, I am still a medical student, not sure what I plan on specializing yet, there are way too many interesting specialties :)@@F_Du_Sea

Hi, doctor here working in and teaching Pathology. Fantastic, fantastic map! A few suggestions:
- for diagnostic methods, we also have electrophysiological testing, e.g., ECG (you mentioned this) and EEG
- histopathological assessments not only diagnose abnormal cells/cancer from biopsies, we also look at specimens taken out from a full surgery to help stage the cancer
- epidemiology is usually considered the basic science of public health (although your way of presenting it is completely reasonable)
Overall, this was really fun to watch!
How's it like working in the field of Pathology? I am very intrigued by it and maybe want to be a Forensic Pathologist.
What would u say are some pros and cons of pathology?
Hi @@cherrycat5599 , it's an amazing, amazing field that is constantly expanding and evolving. Loads of reading and applying what you've learnt to the cases you see every day.
Forensic pathology is a fascinating field - there's a lot of clinicopathological correlation in the context of suspicious cases (at least in UK and Ireland, uncomplicated/unsuspicious deaths are dealt with by non-forensic pathologists, and FPs deal with suspicious deaths).
Pros: 1. All the interesting cases in the hospital you work in will arrive in your department (benign boring cases, apart from screening specimens, would not usually need invasive investigations/treatments). 2. You stand at the interface between patients and science and get to explain what your findings mean to the patients in your meeting with clinicians. 3. You are constantly learning new things no matter how good you are (from Consultants, trainees and scientists, alike; but the patients will always, always be a doctor's best teachers!)
Cons: 1. Exams are extremely challenging and there is a lot of studying needed (I was in clinical medicine before transitioning to Histo - the amount and level of studying I do every day now is way more overwhelming). 2. Sometimes I miss talking to and examining patients (I try to compensate for this by doing very thorough and in-depth clinicopathological correlation when discussing cases with my students so that I get to keep my clinical knowledge (if not skills). 3. People also misunderstand what I do all the time because they have no exposure to Histo and assume we just sit behind a desk not doing anything :(
I literally exclaimed "Dom's back!" when I saw the upload. Your maps are always a joy to watch, and look at!
Hey, thanks! :)

Thank you for your work sir❤

I'm super grateful for the maps that Dr. Dominic makes/made in this channel. I'm 17 and super invested in science, so it helps me figure out what I want to do and don't like. I'll never forget this channel for the rest of my life. It really has made my occupation options easier and way more fun ❤
Recently retired from a lifetime of surgery I find this a wonderful scenario for anyone entering medicine to view.
I love that paramedics were mentioned early on 🥰 a lot of people see them as just "ambulance drivers" but a lot of them (like ones here in Australia) go through a lot of training and really are experts in the treatment of acute prehospital injuries or illnesses
In the US they are often half rtarded drop outs with barely functional language use or reasoning skills
No. There just drivers. Not worthy if my time.
@@sadikadhaan4595 Learning to spell should be "worthy of your time", doubt you have qualifications to be even a "lowly" driver.
Wait, I thought EMTs were medical troubleshooters (and sometimes diagnostic speedrunners)? Why WOULDN'T that require medical training? Edit: spelling.
Hi, love DOS.
Minor correction: on "biostatistics" it seems you switched the mean and median.
You show a positively skewed distribution where the mean should be right to the median since it is more sensitive to the extreme values.
It is also very obvious that the area right to the median is not equal to the larger left part of the distribution where it should be 50-50.
Cheers.
Whoops, thanks!
I understand that it is impossible to cover everything, but among the things you've missed are: neurosurgery, speech and language therapy and occupational therapy.
I wish everyone who is currently studying good luck! You are all great people and we are very thankful for every Doctor out there who helps and saves people!
i’m about to go to college planning to study a medicine related course and this is such an exciting and informative video! i already have so much love for this field and this video amplified that. i learned new things about medicine as well that i didn’t know before too. this video is a gem, thank you so much!!
Wow, that was amazing. You've cleared-up my previously vague notions on more than a handful of those branches of medicine. That must have taken an astounding amount of work to put together.
I'm a long-time fan of your work. I came for the physics, and continue to be enriched in other unexpected ways.
i am a 1st year med student and when you started talking about those principles, I recognised them from my lesson but my reachers didn't explain they were principles so this feels like an epiphany to me rn😭
Awesome job 👏. I have been an MD and surgeon for almost 30 years and I am happy to contribute if you need.
I use to work in hospital IT and this would have served as a great primer for the different services and words I encountered.
I really like your efforts Dominic like how you try to summarise these different field topics.... Its very informative.
I’d love someone to make these for the social sciences, namely economics, sociology, and psychology
I'm an doctor student. this video gets me so happy, Med. is such a vibe.
Thank you for taking your time and making amazing videos. You teach me so much about the world around me, and for that I thank you.

Word for word
Legendary video as always. Can you do a map of social sciences next, it would include everything not considered as hard science but still are built upon scientific understanding. Many consider them to be not real science but any field that helps us understand the world we live in is a science even if it is not based on the laws of the universe.
I love your map videos a lot! Is it possible for you to create such maps for social sciences like Psychology?
I understand your discipline focus is more towards the natural sciences, however it would be great to see subjects being organized so.
I'm glad to see you again. Great video as usual. I have only one suggestion. In Diagnostic Methods is lacking the complain, history of the actual disease and the historical of past diseases from the patient and family. Talk to the patient is the most important diagnostic method.
Can’t thank you enough for such an incredibly organized explanation, it can even amuse anyone who isn’t in the field of medicine as per my opinion !!!
However , I believe podiatry is also practiced in UK as a separate specialty (just like it is here in USA) , and I didn’t see it listed in the chart, but that’s okay !! My curious mind was looking for the difference between UK and USA !!!
One of the best video out there on internet. Thanks for making such incredible content 👍🏽
Very inclusive presentation on the field of medicine. One area left out is veterinary medicine, dealing with medical issues of animals. Many of the same procedures apply as with humans. Some diseases and disorders found in humans are also found in animals, such as diabetes, cancer, arthritis, etc. Thanks for your presentation.
I watched the whole thing! Thanks for all the hard work!
Keep it up! Additionally, the more details the better! 👍👍👍👍👍
Holy! This video indeed will be another one of the best video that science learner would worship.
This knowledge is worth more than gold and I'm not even kidding. Thank you very much!! I would love to know the nutrition map someday.
This video is crazy i can imagine how much effort you put it in. Truly speechless super informative.
You do such a great work! I‘d love to see a „Map of Psychology“ in the future! Appreciate your work!
It would be really cool to see something like this for the dental field!
This was excellent. One of the most informative videos I have ever watched.
That make your own placebo skit was pretty funny
this was fantastic and very comprehensive. I'm going to link your video in my medical careers talk from now on! One minor point...you didn't include the specialism of genito-urinary medicine...I might be biased but its an important one! (I'm hoping to specialise in it)
Thanks for the video!
I love this! A very interesting and useful map for anyone who wants to know something about medicine, as well as for medical students. Medicine is an extremely huge and very diverse scientific field that is not easy to cover and remember all its branches. Very well done, simple and clear! Can you make a Map of Pharmacy? I think it would be very interesting, at least for me as a pharmacy student :)
My favourite topic😊
Thanks for making this video 👍
These maps made by Dom are so beautiful

I was waiting for a while for another one of these videos! Glad to see another one after a while! Out of curiosity, how long does it take to make one?
Thanks for the great maps. Please also add ones for
1. electronics &
2. music (tone rhythm scale note chord and all later sophistications) and also
3. seperate one on musical instruments
Excellent as always! It makes me proud to be a patron via Patreon.
Great way to describe such complex topic.
Thanks for this comprehensive video and, as a non-native English speaker, I learned a lot of vocabulary ;-)
You are doing wonderful job, love from India, anticipating more and more such diverse content❤
Amazing work you've done
In love with this map ❤
I like these map videos. I wonder if they can be made for any type of career. I love the visuals and can understand the depth of the sciences with this. ❤
For me it makes more sense to first explain the basic facts of human physiology and disease on one map before talking about the ethics of medicine such as what doctors should and should not do or the various healthcare jobs. Medicine doesn't neatly fit into a map of knowledge like in previous videos because its not an academic subject (that's physiology or pathology) its a job that includes "ought" statements as well as "is" statements and its important to distinguish between the two.
Thank you for the information delivered 💯💯💯
So exited for this one
Moving in to my new place soon and will be buying all the posters. Can't wait!
I want to thank you for such an amazing video very much needed
Waiting like crazy for this one thank you 🙏 sir
Thank you for this great video, I would like to see a map that include other medicine Approaches and practices that are not western medicine “ conventional medicine “ , like alternative medicine, complementary, functional and integrative medicine.🙏🏻
Thanks for all the work you have put to make this helpful videos, i hope you are up to something.
Thanks i was really curious about sciences around me and u really simplified it to me
Yt is the best learning platform it's more important than schools
Awesome video again bro , Loved it.
medicine is such a huge work field
I remember asking you to do this a year ago.Thank you
Wow I can’t believe you didn’t use my suggestion to put cardiology in the middle and “all the other crap” in a small circle off to one side. Why ask for my advice if you’re going to ignore it 😤
That's because the heart will always be slightly on the left
@@-w-. So you're saying lungs are better 💀
I love this video! It is such a amazing tool for understanding multi-disciplinary-teams and onward referrals. As a podiatry student I'm a bit disappointed we're not included in the areas of practice section but I guess we live somewhere down at the bottom right, near to nursing and physiotherapy and adjacent to biomechanics?
Best channel ❤️
Great video. Could you please do a video for Map for Medical Training?
great job. I see some extra parts that could be improved. but glad you made it. :)
A map on social sciences and another map on arts will be a very beneficial idea 💡.
Great video! Very informative can you do a map of philosophy and a map of geology?
Incredible!
This is absolutely wonderful 👏 👏
It would be so incredible to see the Map of Economics or Politics from a phyisicist's point fo view.
I'd love to see a map for veterinary medicine if possible!
a timeline series would be nice i think like the timeline of medicine or the timeline of engineering

Excellent...your videos are very beneficial...please keep making
came at the right time. Just got into med school.
I hope you make a video on how you make the map. How you make sure to write the key points and not put too much words that the map might get crowded by words
Thank you❤
Great Video Dom! @Domain of Science
This is amazing.
Please, do a Economics map!
Coincidence power for the 40+ time these past couple of months……..I needed this recently & still do for my German science vocab organization. Let’s hope this helps me.
When an AGI can actually 'understand' this relational map, as opposed to just reporting a great sett of words it has mined to predict what we 'want to hear' about this map, I think that will be the revolution in diagnostic medicine.
Love it. Could you please do a map of photonics at some point?
Thank you ❤️
great to see you back Dom!
Thanks Mel!
