i love that you mentioned how beautiful chenle and haechan sound together. most of the times ppl dont really notice how well their voice compliment each other, their tone is really similar but different at the same time, its just so pretty. really the gorgeous vocal twins. also renjun (the yellow sweater guy) was actually sick during this performance but he does go higher during songs. they have two vocal line songs (be there for you and sorry heart) there are also a lot of vocal leaning songs like teddy bear (you should definitely listen to this), rainbow, moon, trigger the fever .

When you mentioned how this group of voices was put together I got all emotional.... they debuted when they were 14-17 years old so no one had any idea of where their voices were going to end up as they matured. And Dream was not initially designed to be a permanent line-up but a place for the younger NCT members to develop as performers and then "graduate" to another unit. (Only Mark and Haechan were set in NCT 127 permanently from the beginning). But after all the difficulties and uncertainties, their chemistry and magic together just could not be denied. This was lightening in a bottle, this was the most lovely luck or fate. What I loved most about this set for Killing Voice was seeing how their voices have changed and how confident they are to create variations and performance together. I could hear the original earlier versions in my head from those young kids while watching these seasoned young men just kill it. I look forward to hearing them when they are 30 too and seeing all the places they will go, they still have so much potential to tap. Their energy has always been amazing but you can really feel that they just came off a very successive world tour when they did this, they are so tight and also relaxed. The only thing that makes me sad is that Renjun was a bit ill so he had to hold back from what he could normally do. Anyone who has heard him sing before could tell he was being a little careful. I hope someday you'll listen to their live performance of ANL and Life is Still Going On (it's on their YT channel) because it's another real vocal tour de force (along with the full performance of Graduation...) They always give us some beautiful live versions of b-sides with each comeback. I just love these guys like they were my own nephews and so wonderfully proud :D

As someone who LOVES Renjun's voice I feel so robbed by the time they had to film bc my boy was obviously not 100%... its so sad that we cant have more of his angelic voice live like we get in the albums recordings behind the scenes.

I love the way you aware about rap line, they are so harmonise with each other. The lower voice are mostly handle by Jeno (they white hair) and Jisung (the blue hair). 7Dream actually had the best chemistry among idols they complete each other.
one thing to note about dream is that while haechan is the backbone of 127 in the sense that a lot of the harmonies you hear are either his or doyoungs, he usually takes on the lead role for dream- which leaves the backbone of the harmonies to chenle. haechan’s voice is INCREDIBLY distinct so if he harmonizes, you know it’s him, but every unrecognizable high harmony? most likely chenle. that’s not to say renjun doesn’t do this as well, but chenle’s are so extremely prevalent and it always amazes me when i really listen to the backing vocals. of course, he’s not alone in this- you’ve mentioned the lower harmonies and i’m pretty sure most of them are jeno, though jaemin/jisung and mark usually play a part in them as well or all of them do them together. i respect chenle and jeno a lot for that bcs you don’t always notice these subtleties & i think killing voice rlly gives us a chance to appreciate the details that are maybe drowned out in studio versions and usually get discarded for an easier live performance. edit: also since you mentioned it being a blessing that gorgeous voice twins haechan and chenle ended up in the same group, you really couldn’t be more on point. chenle had already established himself as a child star in china & him coming to korea was a huge gamble since he already had a solid career. i believe he joined sm barely two months before nct dream ended up debuting in august 2016, and he couldve just as easily been stuck training with no debut & leaving the company but thank god he didn’t!
You are wrong about the lower harmonies being mostly Jeno. Cause it is actually Jaemin and Mark. You can hear Jaemin tone poking through these harmonies many times in the video if you listen closely, his lower register is very strong even when he talks his voice naturally drops. As for Mark I know he is doing it as well because I heard him do it with Haechan once before and his voice was seriously low but he never lost texture in it.Jeno and Jisung are the addition here not the other way around.

chenle (pronounced more like chun-luh, next to hechan) is a vocalist since he was really really young (he was the youngest singer to hold a solo performance at the great hall of vienna, age 9) and he used to perform for theater, so that could be the reason for his vocal placement.
i loved this reaction as always !! as i'm sure a few others mentioned, renjun (yellow sweater) was sick during this performance, so he couldn't shine as much as he usually does. he, haechan and chenle (the one beside haechan) are the three main vocalists! renjun has a truly gorgeous voice that unfortunately was not showcased too much in this killing voice. however, if you are interested in seeing more of his vocals as well as more of chenle and haechan, i would suggest the live clip for "be there for you"! its just the three of them and it's a sweet little ballad. thank you!

But I could clearly hear Jaemin’s tone poking through in there.He is the one in the very middle with light pink hair. Love the whole reaction video!! And you are right with every member you pointed out that may have been covering the lower lines during the choruses!! What I love most about Dream's vocal arrangements in the chorus is how they always have the vocal line (the three you pointed out that have gorgeous voices) on the higher side while the rap line (the remaining four) are always covering the lower lines. It's always so nice and makes the song full. Another thing I love about Dream's discography is that they have much more melodious b-sides compared to 127! 127 has a stronger sound that is heavily hip-hop/rap focused so Mark always raps over there, but in Dream, he sings much more and his vocals are amazing (listen to his solo 'Child' if you haven't) and so charismatic too. And also, Mark knows how to beat box. He learnt when he was much younger and that intro that he did for Beatbox -- it was specially created by him for a performance and not in the actual soundtrack. Actually, quite a number of adlibs that Chenle is doing (the guy beside Haechan) are not from the original arrangements too but his ideas. He likes experimenting a lot with the adlibs and harmonies so it's fun to hear Dream live. And yes, their rap line is amazing. Hope you get to explore their discography more especially the b-sides as the 'neo' sound is usually for their title tracks only!

kinda sad that renjun wasn't feeling too well in this bc he couldn't really show his entire vocal capacity, but i'm proud of his professionalism handling his voice in that state. i recommend listening to his covers on the nct channel (playlist "cover by nct"). or to jisung's cover of "heart" by iu, in that same playlist :) tysm for listening to them!

NCT Dream…they are truly dreamy. Seven Dream is perfectly balanced, and I’m glad they achieved their goal and stayed together. Actually, it’s their 7th year since debut. Most people forget that NCT Dream are experienced artists now, considering that they debuted when they were still very, very young (Jisung was 14 y/o). The oldest, Mark, just turned 24 y/o yesterday 😊.
you are soooo right when you say that dream are so balanced and play off each other really well 🥹 to me that’s one of the best things about them bc we have 3 vocal members and 4 rappers and because of this when they all sing in usison it just comes out soo so good!! also in a lot of their songs they take turns to do the same part/melody in different verses and it’s always soooo interesting to see how differently each of them tackle the same part!

oh nct fans (and dreamzens specifically) have been on a crusade to discredit haechan for AGES now🙃 i mean just take this performance for example, they'll exaggeratedly praise and gag over chenle hitting the simples notes or doing the easiest falsetto adlibs and then completely IGNORE haecahn standing right next to him belting his chest out😂it just looks like they're doing it on purpose now like I used to feel sad/offended before but now it's just funny because they don't even try and hide their distaste for haecahn:( not to mention that if we're just being purely OBJECTIVE with critiquing their performance here, haechan was carrying the vocals extremely hard here, he was doing the most high notes and his voice was the strongest/ loudest in the choruses too but i see very very few dreamzens give him his due and it's only sfs praising him. They have been on a tour for a long time now and i feel like you can actually hear it from their voices. When i first listened I was like is Renjun okay and when i continued i realized he wasn't in his best condition. But still he did really well cause i didn't realize it until the half of the video. I wish that we can have Dream on dingo once again with their best condition so that they can showcase their skills fully
If you hear in the end of member parts in some songs, they're doing tone/melody improvisation from the original song (we young, life is still going on, irreplaceable, dive in to you, etc) especially MARK, HAECHAN, and CHENLE. I suggest that low tone has JAEMIN voice, because he has very low tone among the members.

i think the lower voice one you were referring to was jaemin (the pink haired guy)! you can hear him in 23:55 the abrupt cut of the lower voice which matches jaemin going away from the microphone! during boom (40:30), his low husky voice was very prominent so you'll hear him clearly! however in 34:38 all of the rapline are singing in the lower voice :)

Jeno really harmonizes well with the main vocals. During concerts his low tone(?) was obvious and I can hear it all through out. Also fun fact! Jeno is credited for background vocals in the famous Hello Future 💓 And other songs!!

one thing to note about dream is that while haechan is the backbone of 127 in the sense that a lot of the harmonies you hear are either his or doyoungs, he usually takes on the lead role for dream- which leaves the backbone of the harmonies to chenle. haechan’s voice is INCREDIBLY distinct so if he harmonizes, you know it’s him, but every unrecognizable high harmony? most likely chenle. that’s not to say renjun doesn’t do this as well, but chenle’s are so extremely prevalent and it always amazes me when i really listen to the backing vocals. of course, he’s not alone in this- you’ve mentioned the lower harmonies and i’m pretty sure most of them are jeno, though jaemin/jisung and mark usually play a part in them as well or all of them do them together. i respect chenle and jeno a lot for that bcs you don’t always notice these subtleties & i think killing voice rlly gives us a chance to appreciate the details that are maybe drowned out in studio versions and usually get discarded for an easier live performance.
edit: also since you mentioned it being a blessing that gorgeous voice twins haechan and chenle ended up in the same group, you really couldn’t be more on point. chenle had already established himself as a child star in china & him coming to korea was a huge gamble since he already had a solid career. i believe he joined sm barely two months before nct dream ended up debuting in august 2016, and he couldve just as easily been stuck training with no debut & leaving the company but thank god he didn’t!

You are wrong about the lower harmonies being mostly Jeno. Cause it is actually Jaemin and Mark. You can hear Jaemin tone poking through these harmonies many times in the video if you listen closely, his lower register is very strong even when he talks his voice naturally drops. As for Mark I know he is doing it as well because I heard him do it with Haechan once before and his voice was seriously low but he never lost texture in it.Jeno and Jisung are the addition here not the other way around.

chenle (pronounced more like chun-luh, next to hechan) is a vocalist since he was really really young (he was the youngest singer to hold a solo performance at the great hall of vienna, age 9) and he used to perform for theater, so that could be the reason for his vocal placement.

And you are right with every member you pointed out that may have been covering the lower lines during the choruses!! What I love most about Dream's vocal arrangements in the chorus is how they always have the vocal line (the three you pointed out that have gorgeous voices) on the higher side while the rap line (the remaining four) are always covering the lower lines. It's always so nice and makes the song full.
Another thing I love about Dream's discography is that they have much more melodious b-sides compared to 127! 127 has a stronger sound that is heavily hip-hop/rap focused so Mark always raps over there, but in Dream, he sings much more and his vocals are amazing (listen to his solo 'Child' if you haven't) and so charismatic too. And also, Mark knows how to beat box. He learnt when he was much younger and that intro that he did for Beatbox -- it was specially created by him for a performance and not in the actual soundtrack. Actually, quite a number of adlibs that Chenle is doing (the guy beside Haechan) are not from the original arrangements too but his ideas. He likes experimenting a lot with the adlibs and harmonies so it's fun to hear Dream live.
And yes, their rap line is amazing. Hope you get to explore their discography more especially the b-sides as the 'neo' sound is usually for their title tracks only!

NCT Dream…they are truly dreamy. Seven Dream is perfectly balanced, and I’m glad they achieved their goal and stayed together. Actually, it’s their 7th year since debut. Most people forget that NCT Dream are experienced artists now, considering that they debuted when they were still very, very young (Jisung was 14 y/o). The oldest, Mark, just turned 24 y/o yesterday 😊.

I'm surprised that everyone talks about Chenle but forgets to mention how Haechan handles everything so perfectly and easily, NCT fans tend to say that Haechan is only ranked 4th or 5th as the band's best vocalist but we can admit how much more praise he deserves and to be ranked higher than that knowing how angelic yet so powerful and controlled his voice is.
oh nct fans (and dreamzens specifically) have been on a crusade to discredit haechan for AGES now🙃 i mean just take this performance for example, they'll exaggeratedly praise and gag over chenle hitting the simples notes or doing the easiest falsetto adlibs and then completely IGNORE haecahn standing right next to him belting his chest out😂it just looks like they're doing it on purpose now like I used to feel sad/offended before but now it's just funny because they don't even try and hide their distaste for haecahn:( not to mention that if we're just being purely OBJECTIVE with critiquing their performance here, haechan was carrying the vocals extremely hard here, he was doing the most high notes and his voice was the strongest/ loudest in the choruses too but i see very very few dreamzens give him his due and it's only sfs praising him. They have been on a tour for a long time now and i feel like you can actually hear it from their voices. When i first listened I was like is Renjun okay and when i continued i realized he wasn't in his best condition. But still he did really well cause i didn't realize it until the half of the video. I wish that we can have Dream on dingo once again with their best condition so that they can showcase their skills fully

I suggest that low tone has JAEMIN voice, because he has very low tone among the members.

i think the lower voice one you were referring to was jaemin (the pink haired guy)! you can hear him in 23:55 the abrupt cut of the lower voice which matches jaemin going away from the microphone! during boom (40:30), his low husky voice was very prominent so you'll hear him clearly! however in 34:38 all of the rapline are singing in the lower voice :)

Jeno really harmonizes well with the main vocals. During concerts his low tone(?) was obvious and I can hear it all through out. Also fun fact! Jeno is credited for background vocals in the famous Hello Future 💓 And other songs!!
