I visited Haiti about 8 years ago & have very close Haitian 🇭🇹 friends right here, in New York City! …I indeed felt right at home in my country of origin as I come from a French speaking African country….

The real name is actually Ayiti which is part of the original indigenous name the original habitants called the entire island. Haiti is the name other countries call Ayiti or the English name…Ayiti Kiskeya Bohio was the original name before the Spaniards changed it to Hispaniola; when the slaves obtained their freedom in 1804 they changed the name back to Ayiti 😉☺️

Im American born but use to go to Haiti as a child for the summers. This in March for my 50th birthday I went to Haiti after being away for 40 years .. I felt so ashamed because I took so long to return and to enjoy Haiti as an adult . I cried like a baby when that plane landed in Cap Haitian it was absolutely amazing. I had a time !! Top tier island , food on point , people weee welcoming , i can’t wait to go back !!! I have been to almost all the islands but nowhere beats Haiti !! Beauty is her name Ayaiti Cherie! 🇭🇹🇭🇹

I am originally from Trinidad and Tobago but have been living in Canada for decades. J have visited all the islands that you have been to thus far , except Haiti. I have to tell you that i am enjoying Haiti the most and I think that you will also agree with me. I no 3:38 w hope to.make it there one day.
You will love it, first time I went I fell in love with Haiti, it was so beautiful and peaceful. I then went on my own the following year and had a blast!! The food, people and beaches were all amazing and fun!! And the clubs they played it all and they can dance, the compa was 🔥 the rum was amazing 👏 🤩

Haitians in Haiti do not like to be filmed because they do not want to be exploited. Western media has recorded Haitians without their consent only to further their agenda of bashing Haitians and Haiti. Imagine being filmed at random then seeing your image used for propaganda. It’s rare Haitians see outsiders film them to promote positivity.

I was in Tampa last week, I spoke with my Haitians friends, some of them understand the boundaries between politics and personal life and others seem to have resentment towards all people from Kenya. Some of the people I thought we were friends seem to give me cold shoulder because I'm East African. I'm Tanzanian married to a Kenyan woman, I can tell you this, not all people feels like you and in a foreign country, it only takes one person to put your life in danger. I'm just asking her to take precautions. That's all.
