The real deal folks.....RIP RORY.
Gerry McAvoy . . . Rory’s secret weapon.
One of the greatest musical duos ever! Gerry shows as much excitement and energy as Rory, and is absolutely rock solid on bass.
Absolutely wonderful. He was peerless, magnificent - and anyone who ever got to see him live will of course already know that.
Hey there, I got to see Rory Gallagher at least 11 to 15 times at the Columbus Agora Music Hall on Ohio State's campus back in the early to mid 70's. Several times I was lucky enough to be down front staring right at him, and the faces he made when he was soloing are some of my best memories of some of his shows...what a privilege it was to be in his musical world.
Got to see him live a few times, absolutely brilliant! Hard to think it was 50 years ago.
I did see him Manchester Free Trade Hall
He died before I got the chance to see him. You guys are a little older than me, so lucky you 🍀
Saw him live in Holland when i was a kid he was messing with in a musical way.Ran on stage in the break,Rody s brought me down nicely.Itvwas a great concert
The man lived every note he played, none like him, doubt there ever will be.
Just 24 yrs old on this clip , master craftsman at work
The king of the stratocaster is dead. Long live his memory.
My buddy and I will being paying our respects at Rory's grave in Cort next month. We both saw him 4 times in SF bay area in 70s. We both play. Long live the memory of the great Rory!
For those nine minutes I was nineteen again.
Used to see Rory all the time at The Sundown, (The Regal, Edmonton) all the time from about 1971-76. And once at The Bridge House, Canning Town.
Wowww
me too!! Rory was a resident at the Marquee club back then every Wednesday night, I must have seen Rory twenty times I lived in the UK until 1974 I live in Ireland since but never got to see him play here. But I did get to see the 'Band of Friends in Cork some years back.
Saw him with both Taste and this line up. The man was simply magnificent.
Rory will always be the man. I not only her his music but I feel it down deep in my soul . I love Rory so much.❤❤❤🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Anyone who ever attended ‘The Grove’ in Artane/Clontarf will know this was an anthem.
we cover this tune, great energy... Rory was a true guitar/string hero
Saw him about 30 times in the 70s absolutely untouchable
30 times???lucky you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are my hero
Reattached his guitar strap without missing a note. Incredible.
I saw that!! 😲
Classic Rory!!!
There was another famous time at the Glasgow Apollo that he changed a string without stopping the song, sensational guitarist, the greatest of all time
i saw that too
No panic...
Absolutely amazing, Had the luck of seeing him live. He meant it. NO MESSIN WITH KIDDO RORY
THE OLD DAYS FOR ME... 75 YEARS OLD AND STILL LOVE THE WHITE BLUES !

BEST ever take on the classic Junior Wells tune. We miss ya Rory!
Saw Rory in club..sat in front of Gerry..couldn't hear Rory for shit..was still cool to see him
The greatest
There is no way I can give any more praise to Rory than the many comments I have already read...so I'll just say, love the bass solo, love the tone!
Amen!
Still remember him playing this.
I was 17 , it was November 1975 at the Blackpool Winter Gardens.
Saw him again 2 years later at Lancaster University .
Brings back good memories listening to this and now jamming along on my Stratocaster .
How about that drummer!!!
Rory and his band at the height of their talent, just incredible.

Each musician gave it their all... Rory was so gifted. Rory definitely left this earth too soon. No comparison then or now.
And yet once more..the You Tube Algorithm of Blues Rock Gods look down and smile on this humble mortal!!
Jerry's bass be buildin a face while you here Rory tell his story...... ain't no muff to tuff. Will dive fo five
"It ain't easy being green" 💚💚dig! 💚 ua-cam.com/video/RkuGCI1ZofY/v-deo.html
Good to see the Chicago blues made it all over the world. I got to see the late great Junior Wells (and Buddy Guy) perform his theme tune dozens of times.
Rory was ALWAYS UNBELIEVABLE!
I never ever heard something like Rory. My god.
Wish I was there...
not forgettin' the great Wilgar Campbell on drums had the pleasure of playing with him in 1978-79'' with my rock +roll band Yakety yak amazing drummer !!
Greatest to ever hold a guitar.
Wilgur was a superb drummer
No comemt. THE BEST...........
Memories memories.......the year I discovered Rory (aged 15). In his early prime. Still love the man.
How did I, or should I say we missed this guy?
That depends on when & where you grew up at. You must be rather young to have missed Rory in the 60s & 70s. You need to drop the we in your comment , as a player myself i learned about him while he was still in Taste the rest just followed. I guess better late than never.🎸
@@paullevine1813 I didn't say "we all." You are a musician, so I'm not surprised you know of him. A guy like me who really likes Rory's style would typically latch on to him for life. But yet this is the first I've heard of him. Good stuff though.
Saw Rory many times from packed out theaters to the half empty Leeds Town and country club. Brilliant wherever he was. What a genius.
Rory he the man!!!
Wowwwww😍
1972 and he wasn't even close to being the finished article. Still the greatest white bluesman and blues guitarist ever.
Still have this Live album
the absolute best
R.I.P L.E.G.E.N.D 🎸🙏

Gerry McAvoy - the man is a beast!
Gerry & Wilgar 💚💚 Roar-ree rhythm section!!!!! 💚 ua-cam.com/video/RkuGCI1ZofY/v-deo.html
yeah he is , but very underrated😥😥
Yes, both the bass player and drummer add so much to this 3 piece sound.
This was my introduction to Rory Gallagher. I heard the live albums of RG, Robin Trower, Frank Marino, and Ted Nugent in 1978 at 15 yrs old and my life was changed forever. Still my fav guitarists, among others .
Check out Buckethead 'Blue Dunes'. Some fantastic blues rock guitar still being released today
Rory Awsome
Rory was great 'dont mess with the kid' 🙏
One if the best Strat tones ever!
As always, superb. Huge shout out to Wilgar Campbell, absolutely magnificent drummer. RIP Rory, Wilgar, Ted, Rod, Lou…. A line-up of the finest.
👍
Keep rockin Gerry!
@@SusanHeaton completely agree! My daughter Isobel Thatcher (see UA-cam/internet site) met Gerry in London and had a great chat! He was delighted that a young lass, also a stunning musician, knew all the words to Rory’s songs. Gerry’s legacy is massive and he’s a lovely man too! x
@@theesbband Ooooh YOUR daughter is really lucky...
I think Gerry is the onlyone member who is alive❤❤❤❤
@@lillyk2315 😁😁😁🎸🎸
@@lillyk2315 Rory was a great guy and a superb musician. I met Rory about 25 times and took him for supper in Salisbury in 1971. Rory let me “play” his old Strat on six occasions: I’ll never forget him or the guys in the band. Magical. 😪😪🎸🎸
Amazing performance: his playing so melodic and even when his guitar strap detached mid solo he kept his composure and didn’t miss a beat!
Often unearthly 🎸 guitar skills. Sounds so good always
Nice Hendrix homage :)
Magic. Was there. Breathtaking...❤️✌️
His playing aside for just a moment (which is just Soooooo tasty, no pun intended) Campbell's live sound is among THE best live drum sounds I have ever heard and VERY comparable to Bonham. The snare and kick and are in perfect balance to one another and the toms are thunderous. Just perfect.
Well said I agree with that
Effing brilliant. Playing on the fly, Improv at it's best.
Right on! I was lucky to see Rory play at Her Majesties Theatre in Perth Australia, 1970's something. he blew the roof of the place along with thousands of minds.
Restlessdog band did an amazing cover of this, god bless rory
Incredible quality video. Master at his craft going full bore. As the Irish would say, ‘that’s class’.
pinch harmonics galore, awesome,
master rory we love you !! rip bro !!
My sweet baby! 💞❤️🎸
so good
Watching and absorbing these famous legendary clips totally eases the discomfort I have in my life due to a lack of socialization. So real its scary...music and the arts is healing
Same here Rory on
Brilliant
It brings me back to when I was a teenager, I was a big fan.
Wonderful. Saw him in Dundee, Caird Hall, '72 and '73. Great stuff!
Nada pode ser comparado a Rory!! Lenda absoluta!!!!!!!
He breaks my heart every time I listen to him
Concordooooo
Thank you for the 4K restoration. Great performance made better with 4K.
Rory was brilliant!
We miss our kid so much...cuanto te echamos de menos Rory 😢
Best version ive ever heard!!!
Rory Gallagher Live In Europe, opening track in my opinion the finest rendition of this track, Rory and his boys were really on it. This rendition is awesome, but for me the Live In Europe version shines!
Truly magnificent, never be another like him. It was never a job just his love for the guitar.
Thank you for sharing this recording. It was actually filmed on Sunday 9th April 1972.
My goodness! Proper blues/rock !
Legend.
Individuos formidáveis
RAW,Rock on!
Strap comes off and he just breezes through it!
