Let's Make Beef Manhattan!

Darlings, it's a staple of the Indiana School Lunch Program--or it used to be! A dish created by a bar in Indianapolis in the 1940s! The bar is closed, but this recipe lives on--a roast beef (or turkey, or vegetable) sandwich, nestled around a pile of mashed potatoes and smothered in gravy! Delicious!

I always assumed everyone knew what this was! I've yet to meet anyone outside of Indiana who knows about it... SO SAD!
