the reason some people get picky on what you call something is because people who work in that industry ate it when you call something by the wrong name 9i.e. firefighters and fire trucks, soldiers and tanks, construction workers and bulldozers). So when people who work with and are passionate about stuff like that, they tend to get picky when it comes to proper naming. I myself am a heavy construction equipment operator and hate with when everyone calls every machine a bulldozer or backhoe. So that's why some people snap at stuff like that.
