- Here is a VHS rip of a long out-of-print video celebrating legendary St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Hall of Fame shortstop, Ozzie Smith -"Ozzie: The Movie" (1987). Starring Ozzie Smith, Whitey Herzog, Vince Coleman, Willie McGee, Terry Pendleton, Tom Herr, Jack Clark, Jack Buck, Bob Gibson, Mike Schmidt, Ryne Sandberg, George Brett and many others.
Thanks Jeff for posting, that's me interviewing at Ozzie at the 40:30 mark. Fun to see this again!
In 2019 If Ozzie was just coming in to the Daseball Game He would be paid in the Millions $$$$$$ Period
Jeff thank you so much for downloading this! I bought this tape when it first came out as kid and cannot tell you how many times I watched it. Somehow along the way I lost it and haven't seen this in probably 25 years. This brings back a lot of memories from my childhood.

He was such a fun player to watch.
He could be laying down on his back, An still throw you out at First Base The Greatest SS ever To put on a pair of Spikes etc.
My absolute favorite player as a little kid. My dad had Gibson and Musial I have Ozzie and Yadier. What's crazy is how everyone makes everything about race these days and in those days in 80s he was my favorite and it never struck me that he was black, he was just Ozzie and that's how I saw him. He was best defensive player at most important infield position beside catcher. Plus back flips and me playing short stop how could I not like him? And I was tall white kid.lol

I would still put him over some of the great SS that are playing in todays MLB And there some really great ones at that etc. Guess I was a big Fan of The Wizards etc
