- This was my daily driver for many years. It also took me across the country three separate times without any serious issues. Because of that, I have a great affection for this van. It has a now tired 250 engine that I plan on replacing. The trips to Branson, MO, the 48th NATS and a vantainer parts run from KaliFourKneeYa to Arizona, down Texas way, near the Mississippi, up North and through the Cascades. That last trip was solo. Great memories!
I seen this van, when you drove it to IN. It was Great to Finaly meet you.
You are correct Tom. This is the same van. We had that mini rally in Indiana. It was at the height of the Covid stuff. I remember it well. You let me drive your van. It somehow seemed strangely familiar ;>).
Pretty sweet ride, can't imagine what a triple digit ride would be like, lol
Im sure hitting the brakes isn't an option at that point...😊
The only time that was possible was on a long downhill ride on I-20 from Texas. I was able to pace a car long enough to see the 100 mph+ on their speedometer. Be advised its nothing I'd recommend but for the WedgieVan, it was surprisingly stable. The lesson was that I don't need a 2.76 rear axle ratio with 215 70-15 tires and don't need to be able to go 100+ mph on a van that was not designed for it. In the future, I think I'll settle on the 3.08 rear axle but if anyone has the stones to ride with me on that same route while I still have those tall gears installed, well just let me know.
We are glad to support you guys! Vintage Chevy Vans need specialized parts. Those car/truck guys have no clue.
Great doing business with you.
Does every van have a moniker?
We are associated with the vintagechevyvanparts.com website, 108 VanGuy is a good friend, and this channel. We are working on providing specialized parts for these vans. Window regulators and other parts are on the way. Stay tuned since we know what is needed and are committed to providing it.
@@vintagechevyvanparts Thanks for the reply!
Didnt quite answer my question although...
It seems as if every van has a special name attached to it. "65 Dream", Beachcruiser", "Wedgievan", "VinVan"...
Is that a thing with these vans?
Some VCVanners name their van and others just have a name for themselves, others have neither. These vans are like a blank slate that the owners customize to their whim. That’s part of the beauty. Most of it cannot really be explained, mostly it’s just felt. Join the brotherhood if you hear the call and help contribute to that 2%..
