That’s what most people want. The Invictus Games should exist and be seen independently of “Heart of Invictus” which is a Netflix propaganda pitch for H&H
Unfortunately though it did include his dig about the RF, lies about the British press and talk about his mother again, and nobody is sure how much is being donated

If you want to support a charity, come free of charge. Don't bring your production company, don't sell on to Netflix. Be financially transparent. Don't charge ridiculous expenses. Unless you can pile up the clothes and stand in front of 1 competitor. Look them in the eye and say on camera "I needed these clothes more..." imo New representative each event. Great idea.

This actually shows the power and benefits of the Royal family. They have the funds and the star power and can gather expertise so easily for any worthy cause. Imagine a government institution with all their bureaucracy wanted to organize this. It would be a lot more expensive and with no glamour. Too bad Harry and Meghan were not smart enough to realize that.

HMTQ said this just before she became Queen, she and Prince Philip went in their first tour after their marriage. The crowds to greet them after the Britannia docked. The Minister gestured towards the mass of cheering people and said ‘You see how much they love you?’
She shook her head a bit, disagreeing with him. “This isn’t about ME, I’m merely a representative of the Monarchy, I would be concerned for the mental health of anyone who thinks it IS about their personal popularity, it would not be a healthy way to think.”
She was only 25 years old when she said that. It is in the video ‘A Majestic Life’. I binged a variety of videos last year after Elizabeth II’s death. It was a wonderful review of her life and views. Pity Harry didn’t bother to understand the Monarchy, with its rules and protocol are a part of a history he doesn’t know nor respect.

I feel like this docuserie is not truly about the wounded veterans but more about him as a saviour for these veterans! And the veterans stories are simply used as emotionally supportive evidence to make his act even more glorious!
The game was inspired from the Warrior games and certainly prepared by the palace. He has done nothing but showing up and give empty words speech!

I don't have Netflix.... but just wonder after seeing videos IF there could have been a better way for Harry to 'get his story' out. Instead of his straight 'interview' style, eyes into the camera, full focus on Him.....had we picked up bits and pieces of his story as he spoke with the Veterans I think he may have had more success.
eg...While talking to another vet and the fellow says, 'he felt lost on his return' and Harry comments 'he knew that feeling,' then moves on to more conversation... etc.
When snippets come out within normal conversation I find it more compelling to listen closely, I don't need Harry's 'story' to be placed front and centre before me!
Also IF Harry put some of his story in a more 'reflective' way by saying 'as I look back....' again more compelling as we 'think' he has learned from/discovered what was going on over the years since those moments, Not just flat facts that are eventually disputed... eg. press not supporting the men and women when they were doing just that!

While I truly do appreciate your perspective Shauna, I also come from a military family. And none of my relatives both here in the United States or in the UK were at all impressed with Heart of Invictus. It had nothing of course to do with the veterans being spotlighted or their families. It was instead more about how Harry and Meghan continued to make it about themselves. Many of my relatives who are also veterans felt as though their intelligence had been insulted. With regards to the original Brat Prince himself-if you listen carefully to him-Harry had admittedly never acquired the actual frontline experience (whether you believe that he had been deployed to Afghanistan for the reported ten weeks or not) that most the actual
veterans depicted in Heart of Invictus had. To this very day, Harry does not act or behave like a legitimate military veteran either as he does not appear to have learned or possessed any of the core values that are taught in the military globally such as honesty, character, integrity, courage, bravery and loyalty-which are integral to those serving and their families. Harry similarly does not embody principle-nor did he speak from a place of genuine triumph or resilience or even inner strength. Disabled veterans and their families go through so much and they need every ounce of healthy-minded support and encouragement that they can possibly receive. And not once did Harry come across either as having really understood the entire purpose of what the games were to mean and really failed to relate to the veterans on any real level. Furthermore, we had several minutes of Harry essentially seeking to justify using his own mother's tragic death as the primary reason for why he cannot stop his ongoing use of drugs. He also looked and sounded very much like he was on drugs as well. The last thing that anyone should be doing is promoting the use of drugs in a documentary about disabled veterans-especially when there are millions of veterans in here in the United States and elsewhere around the world who continue to struggle with suicidal ideation. Additionally, given the way Archetypes turned out-it really does not surprise me that Harry would appeal to Sir Keith Mills' for help. My point here is that a lot of veterans around the world who not only feel betrayed by Harry-but after having given him chance after chance to prove himself-but also grossly misrepresented by him as well. For one thing, Harry is not physically disabled and secondly if you remember he did actually mock the pain of a physically disabled matron at his school-having noted that she was both unattractive and didn't make him the least bit horny. He also stated that she had a deviated spine and her knees were so stiff that she had to descend from the stairs backwards. So what does he do to get a laugh from his peers? Harry performed mocking little dances and making faces at her discomfort. And
most respectfully-how can anyone really condone that type of egregious behavior much less consider that to be some kind of profile in courage from a young Prince-now a father of two? Drugs also gives you a very distorted view of the world and I'm really sorry but respectfully-I for one do not believe for one second that Harry and Meghan personify the true spirit and essence of the Games themselves or the participants featured in them and that they should both be completely removed from the Invictus Games going forward.

Good Evening! Shauna .. there are a few points here (that you didn't mention). H did have supporters still probably until the coronation . We don't have to respect H because of his service (according to veterans) because they make an oath to the Queen as part of their roles, loyalty etc.. and those veterans that disagree with him these days state he has proven he has no loytalty to the Queen. Then there is the matter that at his fathers coronation he did not sing God Save the King (and that was a video).. to point being. H is a traitor back in the day he would be in the Tower with the crowd chanting off with his head. the military are loyalist royalist. I'm glad you have identified that INvictus was not really his idea but rather the ideas and efforts of those around him - he's given too much credit for it. He's a talker not a planner or thinker. H is a patron I suppose. "Champion". LOLLL your reaction to the distribution of the money .. is hilarious. I think most people realie that the money will go to the Archewell charity, where they can spend 95% of it on themselves. i won't be watching anything he or she does.

Another unintended, I’m sure, consequence of Harry going on about losing his mother is that I’m hearing more and more people saying that they’re sick of hearing about Diana, even lifelong fans are turning against her but Harry will never understand that his behaviour is causing people to go off of her. Shauna, the comments you read on what Unconquered means to some of the members of the Australian team are truly inspiring, BUT I ask how does all the whinging and self-pity that Harry goes on about fit in? Also The Royal Rogie showed a picture of then Prince Charles and Prince William at the airport to meet Harry upon his return from Afghanistan; William is even carrying Harry’s bags showing that yet again Harry is telling another fib. Also, as a person whose father died when I was 14 & 2 months old I am tired of Harry 2 weeks shy of his 13th birthday carrying on about the death of Diana. I did not ask for pity; in fact, when summer vacation was over two months later and returning to school my mother said to me will you kindly mention your father died during the summer 12:45 and not answer your summer was fine. She said I know you, you will not say anything, and here is Harry 26 years later at almost 39 in September still wallowing in self-pity. He disgusts me; there I said it. Sending greetings from NYC 🗽⬇️; go team USA 🇺🇸

Harry didn’t start Invictus ,it was his family in an effort to give Harry something to focus on as he was running wild, making very inappropriate life decisions and the Royal family were constantly having to cover up for his behaviour .William not only helped at its inception but also gave generous donations. Unfortunately since marrying and leaving the family he appears to be driven by greed As a Royal he would have given of his time free and all money raised would have gone to the games as it should do ,instead he is now drawing on funding for himself and his equally greedy wife

He might well have been in Afghanistan but it was only for a few weeks but he spent his time in a bunker playing games while the real soldiers fought the enemy and this comes from soldiers who were there with him. Queen Elizabeth II started this process to give master harkle something worthwhile to do. It was Prince William and Princess Catherine’s foundation that gave funds to start this and then when Prince William and Princess Catherine received a payout in a court case all of that money went to charity including the Invictus Games but of course the whinging brat never tells the public that. He should not be anywhere near the deserving servicemen. While I appreciate your opinion, that introduction from the spoilt brat could have been taken out but he chose to leave it in.

Yes, I agree, and what was also good was a retired high ranking officer confirmed on UK news that Harry was quite a way back from the front line, so basically, in no danger. He was not impressed by what Harry said in the docs and he had lost a lot of support from veterans... even one of his mates spoke up saying Harry was wrong.

Absolutely the best analysis I’ve heard Shauna and so on the mark. How right you are when you say no to an ex royal but a big fat yes to an Invictus competitor beginning and concluding the games - this would be brilliant. To think that only a percentage of profits will go to the veterans is appalling and I think one of the reasons that Harry has received so much negative press- amazing how he never mentions this point amidst all his whingefest. . Do we know what percentage - every single penny profit should go to these men and women who served their countries. Well done Shauna 👏👏

He missed a veterans’ memorial event to attend that Disney premiere. Anyhoo, Harry’s “pitches” were 99% “I’m the grandson of the Queeeeeen!” and 1% “please punch me in my lazy, entitled, grifting face!” Now that he’s not a part of the BRF he’s 100% the later. Bravo! 👏 I love the idea of a service man or woman heading the games. Trevor Coult would be a wonderful choice...his valor on the battlefield and non-stop work for veterans was recognized by his country and Queen with the Military Cross and her Assent. Coult's passionate advocacy to serve his fellow veterans makes him a hero many times over (thank you for pointing me to his inspiring book). It's time for Harry to step back, his reputation is no longer an asset...he's damaged goods and that is the simple truth. If he really cares about veterans as he says he does he will hand the Games off. As to the profits, I expect the age old entertainment industry's infamous creative accounting will insure that few, if any net profits are realized.

Great research and it gives us insight into the origin of the games. I hope a different member of the Royal Family can show up every year - it doesn't have to be Harry. I think a royal does bring exceptional attention to the games and they deserve that spotlight. So far its been Harry that stepped up; now however, he's abused the games.

  • @jackiegould1569
    @jackiegould1569 Рік тому +5

Good video and the unconquered bit at the end was wonderful. Especially when you realise these people have actually lived what they say. I dont agree that Harry should be respected for his service. Having been allowed in the Army, despite not having entrance qualifications Harry himself insisted He wanted to go to Afghanistan. They tried to say no because Harry would have to have 24/7 protection and would put other lives at stake. Harry didnt care and insisted and as he was a Prince he got his own way, as usual. He was sent as far away from the fighting as it was possible to be with all his guards around him and a bunker was where He stayed with his protection squad, when the real soldiers had to go off somewhere - hence Bunker Harry. With regards to the newspapers, they all knew he was there but kept it quiet in the UK. I cant see why Harry had to tell that lie even if it was back then but the most upsetting thing was to say the papers didnt care about the soldiers and were doing nothing for them. Some of the reporters lost their lives trying to report on it and some were badly injured. Harry just slapped all the relative of those dead in the face. Wooten Basset where the soldiers were returned to was always covered while the general public lined the streets and mourned on behalf of the nation as the coffins went past. Everyone expects him to have a go at his family. If his Dad wont do anything about it then thats up to them but not to tell lies about the British people, some who are now dead because of that war. So no, not only do I not have respect but I think his very presence is an insult. I do think the idea of having one of the veterans hosting and a different one each year is brilliant. And on the behalf of the UK I would like to say to your team Good Luck and you should be very proud of coming second. Obviously the UK will be first 😂😂 Seriously I wish all the competitors well. I doubt I would have the courage if it had happened to me. To reach any level in a sport is taxing enough for the fully able bodied.

Sometimes subsequent behaviour cancels out the respect one gives to a veteran for his/ her service. For example, Prince Andrew served in the military 3 times longer than Harry, and was a genuine hero of the Falklands War. He is now persona non grata due to his relationship with the notorious Jeffrey Epstein. Similarly Prince Harry has eliminated the good will that previously existed by virtue of his lies and constant attacks on the Royal Family. It's too late for Harry to recover in public esteem. It's over, Harry. Please go away and shut up. I love your idea of every year having a respected participant in the Games be the host and make the speeches. That wouldn't be Harry, and certainly not Meghan.
