This is cool. I can't let my son see this. I've made him quite a few tracks with cardboard. . He has a Darlington, Talladega, Iowa, Kansas, Martinsville, Bristol, Atlanta, Charlotte with RC and a RC I made up. I found him a stop motion app. Ive opened up a pandora's box. He will want me to make tracks like this. Lol this track looks amazing. I went to Darlington this year. It looks like it. I saw the video of the race. I couldn't believe the detail.

Awesome job the track looks amazing I make my tracks out of cardboard but I am slowly starting to use foam to make them and with you showing how you make the banking I might be able to do something simpler for my tracks keep up the great work.

I put books under mats for my banking and layout the walls with leftover Lego I have laying around (a lot of it)

I’m building a racetrack now off of this guide and I have a few questions
Where did you get your styrofoam and how expensive was it?
How did your surface look that smooth after painting it?
What kind of Posterboard did you get? A lot of Posterboard is very thin and the next up is the non bendable foam board.
This is a great tutorial and I love my track that I am close to finishing.

What kind of poster board you use for your walls exactly, please? Foam boards could work too for walls!
I love the idea of using Styrofoam for the banking but I have to find some time and patience curbing and sanding the curves.

Most craft stores have some soft wire meshes than can easily be cut with scissors. I've used some of those myself before and those may be a good place to start!
If you want poles for the fencing, you could paint some toothpicks or use simple sculpting wires!

what kind of Styrofoam did you use?
do you use the mud just for the banking or do you use it on the straightaways too? im taking a whack at this doing the l.a. coliseum and its totally flat lol so wondering if i should just sand the styrofoam and paint or use the sheetrock shit and go through that multi-day process
I usually onlt do it for the banking. Doing the straightaways isn't necessary but it does make it smoother
@@Miscraft yeah i think doing it for the straights would've made it smoother but nothing 4 extra coats of paints and sandpaper wont fix lol
