How to Deadhead to Extend Blooming (lots of different flowers)

- By late July/ early August the first flush of blooms on many of my annuals, perennials and biennials are fading. I am not ready to collect seeds from them yet and want more flowers.
So I help them put energy into creating more flowers instead of seeds. But at the end of the season I will let them set seeds to collect and scatter.
Join me today as I get up close and personal with many cottage garden flowers to give them a trim.
Last week I uploaded a video of how I collect seeds of Foxgloves and replant for a beautiful Spring, see that here: • Foxglove flowers, Seed...

I did get a rebloom and it was shorter but still beautiful!
Thank you, you're the first one to actually show difference between seed stalks and blooming, very helpful.
You are welcome! I am glad it was helpful.
Thank you so much for showing the difference between dead seed pods and about to bloom buds! I "inherited" a garden with my new home and I'm clueless about what's good to keep and what's bad. I followed your instructions and things look much better out there. Hoping for a 2nd bloom later this summer from my larkspur. Well done video.
Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed it and were able to benefit!
Very beautiful garden thanks for your love and passion for the garden
Thanks for visiting
Brilliant. Thanks.
You are most welcome.
So helpful thanks 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Glad it was helpful!
Pam can you tell me please, what kind of Rudbeckia is this?
I wish I could but it is a reseeded one, meaning it planted itself and is a cross from the many in my garden. But I will tell you that I have had Indian Summer, Cappuccino and Green Eyes, and some from neighbors that are a mystery. They cross-pollinate and create their own progeny which this is one of. One of my favorites is Indian Summer!
Happy Winter Solstice, Pam! Your gardens are incredibly beautiful. I always enjoy your blog and videos. I’m a little late to the party in asking about this particular video but wondered if you would be so kind as to advise which variety of Larkspur you have in this video? It’s exactly what I would like to grow this coming season. I’d be much obliged!
I planted these so long ago I don't remember but I also have some from Botanical Interests that are so similar they may be the same thing.
@@FlowerPatchFarmhouse It’s a testament to the variety (and the gardener) that they are still doing so well. I’ll take a look at Botanical and see what I can find. Thanks for the reply! Blessings!
On the white delfinums will you OR have you done a video on how to sow great great tour thanks for your time 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I will do a video when I sow them next winter, but I do have a post on my blog of how I start delphs from seed: www.flowerpatchfarmhouse.com/grow-delphiniums-from-seed/
