I don't feel comfortable wearing short dresses now,I am born again and I came to know that our flesh is useless, we don't need to impress others. I don't need to follow the crowd and this world, I need to follow the Christ.
*The idea of "modesty" is an absolute joke. “Do not conform to the patterns of this world. “. Yet my mom doesn’t listen and drinks and gets a lil drunk and says “ask anybody and they’ll say it’s normal”. She thinks normal=good

Personally, I have been taught that when going to church, I should view it as going to see the Queen. In that circumstance, I would dress up and probably wear a dress/skirt etc. In the same way when I go to worship the King of all Kings and the Lord of all Lords, I feel more comfortable and respectful when wearing that type of clothing. Thanks for the video, it was really helpful!!! x

I personally don’t wear bikinis but I’ll wear a one piece or wear a high waisted bottom with a top that doesn’t reveal too much midriff. I went to the beach with my church the other day with a crochet top that showed a little midriff and some loose shorts and I was told it was inappropriate smh.
Then you are not belong in that chuch, you belong to curch who is wearing top and do your own or what you want. Remember you enter a church which has set of members worshiping the Lord in unity so you should submit in the church as you submit to the Lord. Romans 13:1-7. Bye sshhs shhh shhs
Eco Kanjukuoh I am all for abiding to rules and dressing modestly. To my belief my beach attire was modest. However, there was never a set of rules written about what to wear to the beach by my church leaders. That should be addressed. Also my pastor and many other men wore swim trunks and no shirt. There is a time and place to wear certain things. I believed what I wore was modest and was appropriate for the beach. I showed about 2 inches of my stomach and there were men that had their whole upper body showing. Make that make sense. The church puts more effort on how women should act as oppose to how men should act. We both need to be held accountable. God bless.
Btw i meant like I want a girl to be modest,we don't date lukewarm Christians out here ye digggg. If that's the case I will rather help the girl be holy and pure in a stronger relationship with Jesus Christ
The same thing I say but for my house cleaning lol.. if Jesus stopped in unexpectedly would he be pleased my house is a mess ? No. He would want me to try every day to clean up as I go. Lol that helps me
*The main problem with us as people regarding physical modesty is that we view our bodies (nudity) as being inherently sexual. This is a false premise for the following reasons...* *Bathing, changing clothes, childbirth, breastfeeding, using the bathroom, sleeping, going to a sauna, getting a massage (at a spa), nurturing the elderly, nurturing the handicap ♿, locker rooms (for athletes).* *All of these things require (or can involve) nudity but have nothing to do with anything sexual. Why? Because nudity isn't inherently sexual, it's only looked at like that because we make it sexual. So we can't assume that someone showing skin (not necessarily completely nude) is "sexualising" themselves so we can't say that you can "cause someone to lust" by not dressing "modestly".*
Just to be clear, you believe we shouldn’t care if our dressing ways make others sin, make us sin, and we should cross dress and shouldn’t rebuke others? Tell me, how do I know you are a daughter of the most high God if you don’t believe his word?
You literally said that sin is subjective and as long as you’re comfortable then you’re good and not sinning.... really? Where exactly did that get said in the Bible?
Feels Honestly that’s today’s “Christians”. They are being taught in today’s churches that it’s ok to do as you want. They believe everything a person tells them instead of what the Bible says or not being led by Holy Spirit. Most people are being led by the kingdom of darkness & the world.
EXACTLY MY POINT that how the modern christian justifies their sins or wicked lifestyles Do what you feel is right???? Do what is comfortable with you???
Women should wear what they want as long as they dont define their beauty on the Pearls and Gold they wear it and it reflects their heart also try to dress modest because sexual sin
thank you for this video. you really changed my view on modesty. i can tell you put time and thought into how you were going to come across, and you came across very well. i'm about to enter college, and I'm going to have a lot more freedom, so having your advice in mind will *really* help!

On top of everything, the question isn't what can i get away with wearing. Its how can I honor God. The goal is to pursue being perfect. Matthew Chapter 5. Not even thinking about Pride in all forms or being a lover of yourself. Yes you can look nice but dont being thinking about it like your trying to get attention. What you said in the video. Amen
Ok, I shouldn’t but here I go…. The way I see this and again, I repeat, I see it this way: on the subject of using a bikini; would I allow someone other than my husband or mother, see me wearing only underwear and bra? The answer is definitely NO! Now…..what is the difference between a bikini bathing suit and an underwear and bra other than the king of fabric that is used? Nothing! I honestly think it’s not a matter of feeling good or bad about your body. I PERSONALLY, would like to reserve my body only for my husband to see but that is just my opinion.
pornography was viewed as immoral and bad 100 years ago 1920 now in the year 2020 it is viewed as good and normalized in mainstream culture..mainstream culture is so different than the bibles culture its like night and day.
I PARTIALLY agree, that what is in the HEART is what matters, BUT God does ask us to be modest & respectful, & in addition, when you go to church dressed inappropriately, you are distracting other people and leading them into sin B cuz when they are trying to focus on GOD, and they see immodesty, they are enticed into thinking sinful thoughts. They may be good and decent people who are not deliberatly trying to notice what other people wear, but if you are right by someone it is difficult not to notice them. The Church is the house of the LORD and we should heed his requests and not disrespect him. It is not supposed to be like the beach or a bar
*There is no such thing as "modest or immodest" clothing. It's a false premise created out of ignorance and lack of understanding of what our bodies represent. Physical modesty varies all over the world throughout all nations, religions and cultures and has done so all throughout history. It's not something you can put under a microscope and study in a science lab or back with research or data or defend with faith (The Bible). It's just something based on feelings and emotions and that makes it empty.*
So I have a question, so is weird that things only feel sin just because adults and family members make you feel like they are bc that happens a lot. I only feel like I shouldn’t be doing something because my family makes it come across as sin.
When you've got the Holy Spirit within uu, you'll immediately know that whatever it is you're doing is wrong. I was addicted to watching p*rn at some stage and I only stopped bcoz I wasn't comfortable watching it. Everytime i did, it felt like i was drifting away more and more from God. Same with listening to music like rap or watching anime like Naruto, it just didn't feel right. That's how I knew it was wrong and why I stopped. Once it took me away from God, I classified it as wrong and dropped it.
There is what you show (what is visible), and what you project by means of behavior, expression, posture, gesture, and response to any given man; or men in general. It is possible to provoke sexual attraction while dressed modestly. It is possible to project no attraction while dressed in a bikini. If you want to completely avoid triggering a man's instinctive response, cover your face and wear a potato sack. As that seems overboard, it points to the fact that men are responsible for how they respond to the women around them; and for their own thoughts and actions. While the topic is important and something you have to decide for yourself, it becomes problematic when there is a preoccupation with the immodesty of others. That said, taking into consideration the opinions of others when around them is the gracious thing to do. That does not mean that you have to conform to their "rules" when you are away from them. It means that you should conform to your rules. Your rules stem from the conviction placed in your heart. This is like eating pork. It may be OK for you, but don't do it in front of those that believe it is wrong. However, non pork eaters have no right to impose their convictions on others.
What makes a woman attractive to a man? She does not look like a man. She looks fertile. A healthy woman who would never be mistaken for a man, and is of child bearing age is not less likely to draw the gaze of a man because she is wearing a one-piece bathing suit, than a bikini. She is not less likely to transmit a message of availability with a one-piece, than in a bikini. Every aspect of a woman's body is attractive to a man. However, the navel and midriff are not more provokative than any other aspect. Men are hard wired to notice women that have a waist to hip ratio of 0.7. Covering the waist with a one-piece does not obscure that. If women are concerned about broadcasting availability to men, why do they wear lip-stick in public? Lip-stick is used to look more attractive. To draw attention to the mouth. This provokes a response in men at an instinctive level; even if that response is not acknowledged or acted upon. How does that square with the goal of not sending out the wrong message, or attracting the wrong men? And, no; I am not suggesting that lip-stick is inappropriate. What might be inappropriate is a hierarchy of legalistic rules that appear to contradict each other. Such rules may be based on a lack of understanding about what excites men. In a word; women. Complete human beings. Men are not just attracted to body parts. They are especially attracted to a woman that is happy to see them. A genuine smile is a huge turn-on. A miss world winner who scowls when she sees a man will be a huge turn-off to him. In both cases, no matter what she is wearing. If a man loves a woman and she looks pleased to see him, she is the most attractive woman in the world to him. Especially when she loves him back, despite knowing all his flaws. If your man's friends point out a woman in a bikini they find attractive, your man might notice her, but she will not trigger any aspirations for him to get closer to her, on any level. If he is instinctively aroused by her, he is likely to be reminded of you, and want you. If she is too interesting in a bikini, she will appeal to your man, even fully dressed. Rather than fret about that, your man already chose you based on knowing you. He does not know the stranger, so he could not possibly find the real her attractive - unless you somehow crush the idea that he is worthy of your love.

Great Video Sister,im over here being single but still with the Lord, viewing Christian Girls modesty style to fill what I want. Is that bad hopefully not im fine being single now. 😂🙏I will say that the spirit shall guide you and if you made a mistake,God won't judge you for what you didn't know. Like you said though if your serving the Lord Jesus and bare good fruit, your spirit thats a temple of Christ is going to make you feel wrong. If not then you know what's right. The Lord's Guilt in our heart is amazing too because sometimes your flesh can make you go through anyways on a thought and that's dangerous for potential willful sin ,therefore Repent immediately and dont do it again. Prayer very important and just fully living in righteousness and obedience. Hallelujah Yeshua Hamashiac

But I feel it’s ok when in the bedroom with your spouse. However, it should be strictly in the bedroom especially if there’s children or maybe the parents or domestic helper at home. Sexual intimacy should be enjoyed by couples in private as their bodies belong to each other and they are allowed to be naked in front of each other.
BTW Comparing the standards of modesty in Islam to the standards of modesty in Christianity is like comparing apples to oranges, and thus sinking into "relativism"
All sin is the same to God , regardless of your spiritual maturity just because you are innocent in your thoughts doesn’t excuse dressing like a worldly woman who believes in herself not God.¡,,, No Jesus would not be okay with a woman wearing a thong or a bikini in front of men and families. A woman should be modest at the beach or pool because a man is a man Christian or not.
*There are two types of modesty: Spiritual and physical* *The Spiritual aspect is true 1000% and is made perfectly clear all throughout the Bible. It shows in the way we act and treat one another. It's what we carry in our hearts and minds and spirits. This is what God cares about and what we should be striving towards.* *Physical modesty is a lie. It's nothing but a man made ideology designed to manipulate and control one another due to our lust for power. It's based on ignorance and our lack of understanding of what our bodies truly represent. This has no basis in the Bible or science.*
We also can’t judge others based on a standard they don’t believe in :) it’s some of the best advice I’ve ever heard and honestly helped the fact of judging other people a lot for me
@@AlaskaWild For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge? God judges those outside. (1 Corinthians 5:12-13) Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye. (Matthew 7:1-5) Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven; (Luke 6:37) The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor? (James 4:11-12) Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone (John 8:7) Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted (Galatians 6:1)
the lord calls above christians to criticize each to become better christians. read Galatians. Although everyone should feel welcomed to the church. There is about 5% of the bible that can be interpreted. The rest is wrote clear as day.
We sin by acting against God's will, in thought, word, and deed. I don't agree that everyone has their own personal sins that are based on their conscience. I think I get where you're going with that though. And I really appreciate that you made it a point to say that we aren't called to judge one another but to correct eachother with discernment in order to honor God.
I love that you are okay with things that others aren't. And You and Hannah are such good inspirational people to help those who may struggle with their Modesty. But others do have their own Modesty standards.
A female and males "knows" what there trying to do ignoring it saying it's not wrong you will be lying which is sin by denying you ignore conscious says it wrong
Thank you so very much for this video, I found it very informative. I personally do not feel comfortable out with my guy friends in a bikini. With my girlfriends I'm ok but I don't feel ok around guys. My question is I like gymnastics but I have an issue with the Leo's and the fact that they are tight fitting. What do you think about this?
Out of curiosity, do you believe it's a sin for women to wear bikinis around men? I mean, the Bible doesn't really say anything about bikinis. At most, it says that women should dress modestly, but it appear to define modesty as not wearing braided hair or expensive jewelry that flaunts one's wealth.
@@technoloverish The quote says for women to adorn themselves in modesty which goes from the way you act and speak to the way you dress, flaunting your body parts wouldnt be a modest thing to do whatsoever. The part about not braiding your hair or wearing certain parts of jewellery is said because they are just some examples of what can be immodest but not really come into our heads instantly.
@@al.345 Just to be clear, are you saying that it should be illegal for women to, for example, wear bikinis at the beach, or are you just saying you don't agree with it? Also worth noting is that the verse says "women should" and is probably in the context of women who are praying in the temple. It doesn't say "women must" or anything like that, and the notion that it has to do with women who are praying in the temple is further supported by the fact that the New Testament also says that women who pray pray or preach to people have to cover their hair while doing so. Furthermore, you're forcing a modern definition of modesty into the text that isn't found in the verse. What is and isn't modesty is subjective to culture and context and you could even probably argue that completely cover up at a beach where everyone else is wearing bikinis is immodest in that context.
Have you ever considered that your bikini may cause your girl friends to stumble and not just your guy friends? If you're going to say that wearing a bikini is a sin at least be consistent because there is such a thing as lesbians or just girls that find other girls attractive. You may not even realize that even girls that go to your church may have these "impure" thoughts.
I personally only wear a bikini around female friends (who I know are not attracted to girls) and family. Otherwise, I wear a tankini which is not tight-fitting with board shorts.

About the second point: another example is cannabis. It's a sin to be a drunkard, but if you are using it to combat siezers/epilepsy I don't think it's a sin. It's when you use cannabis to be intoxicating that it's a sin. I think that's one reason the bible didn't mention the plant (also because it wasn't intoxicating back then)
Hi, thanks for your video, its very interesting topic but I think there are some things that are objective and not dependent of ones "heart" or "feelings"... there is one truth and us as christians are supposed to aim to that, doesn't mean we have to be covered head to toe, but we have to understand that the principle behind the teaching. I kindly suggest you to investigate the approach that the catholic church has on the topic, is very beautiful and profound. God bless!
After Adam and Eve had partaken from the tree of knowledge of good and evil and they knew they were naked the LORD made coats of skins as a covering for them. God gave us modest clothing. It is the way of heaven. The LORD will give us robes of righteousness if we are admitted to His kingdom. A husband and wife when engaged in intimacy are naked and not ashamed. The Apostle Paul also taught we should not do things that cause other people to stumble in their walk with the LORD. If revealing clothing (such as a two piece bikini) is provoking looking with lust from others then one should not be wearing it as they are not helping others in their walk with the LORD.
"Therefore present your bodies as living sacrifices, which is your due service", wrote the Apostle Paul. [In light of the fact that God gave his son to be crucified to pay for our sins]
This is a really nice video. Currently I don’t consider myself religious, but I agree with many of your ideas and points. I love wearing “sexy” swimsuits but I basically just wear them in my room alone 😂😂 I feel good about myself, I’m not worrying about others, and it’s just fun to dance around and sing. The swimsuits I wear in public is basically just what fits me well. Most one pieces don’t fit me, or something looks ugly in my opinion, and a lot of bikinis my chest is fall out of lol, so I take what I can get. I normally wear triangle bikini tops that are padded (ones with removable padding don’t give me any support and the padding is flimsy), and some sort of high cut/high waisted bottoms. I only have like 2 bikini tops because nothing else fits me.
no.man are easily lust.christian woman are supposed to cover like islam and jews but nowdays rarely and christians where head cover.nowdays is just woman on billboard and people buy their products
*Read your Bible and you'll see it says that God created us nude with no shame. This was because in God's ideal world, we embrace our bodies as a physical reflection of God's spirit. God is an artist and we're His art 🎨 therefore, when you embrace yourself, you embrace Him. The reason Adam and Eve immediately hated themselves after they sinned and covered themselves is because they, in sinning, turned away from God and therefore turned away from themselves since their bodies reflected God. God didn't give them clothes because He chose to and He was "covering us in His glory"; that entire context was telling us about how we fell out of His glory. Clothing only came into play when shame, brokenness, evil, and sin did meaning that it's a symbol of these things and the broken bond between God and man. With time the world becomes more and more distant from Christ. Each day we choose to serve ourselves or to serve Christ. each day we appear to resemble a closer reflection of the world by blending in or a closer semblance of Christ and stand out as different from our culture. If we call ourselves vegetarians it means we abstain from meat, if we call ourselves Christian, it means we are Christ-like, acknowledging that we surrender our rights to ourselves and now become Gods property and exercise our love for Christ by following his commandments. This includes abstaining from sin. while sin is inevitable, it is also unacceptable. If it is the thoughts that defile a man, what thoughts are you attempting to stir in a man by displaying intimate portions of female anatomy? Sexual anatomy is designed to trigger sexual chemistry and prep for the act of intercourse. Covering portions of the body in such a method that the skin is not bare but all is still revealed through the fabric accomplishes what delusion of modesty? does it gain points towards God's approval? God has already made known his will (and anything opposing Gods will is sin). Gods will as in scripture is for both men and women to cover their body beyond that of apron: To obscure the thighs and chests. a face holds beauty, yet sexual parts are intended for sex and sex is only for husbands and wives. to expose someone who is not your spouse is an attempt to rouse sexual desire unlawfully; which if accomplished , results in sin from the one tempted and greater sin from the one who tempts. Is this objective helpful or harmful to Christs purpose? are you serving Christ or yourself? remember Judging and preaching are two different things.
If you're preaching verbal tolerance, which you are, that's not Christian. No, ma'am, sin isn't sin for some and not for others. God's Word is absolute. You're okay with being wrong? Uhhh, seriously? If that's the case, you shouldn't be preaching. This video is terrible. You're very self-contradictory in your message-- extremely-- just the way the devil wants it. Saying "like" and "I don't know" all the time isn't very impressive. Is wearing a bikini a sin? The answer is simple and cut-and-dried: Yes.

I still don't think Christian can wear a bikini in public but, as a person, sure, wear whatever you want. Your choice but not religion teaching. Every religion has their own system. They allow and ban some acts even though nowadays people regardless their religion, judge something with bad or good according to them and science fact. Moreover, I don't think you can just take one sentence in each chapter of the bible because it is continuation and might cause misinterpretation if only taken some parts.

Can you be a Christian and wear a bikini? Yes, because the only requirement to be saved is to believe... However if you believe right you will act right.
No I'm not wrong. I said if you believe right you will act right, meaning as someone who knows Jesus and studies her Word I would not feel comfortable wearing a bikini because of the conviction of the Holy Spirit, and that is called sanctification, someone who grows in the Lord and learns how to live Holy for Him. However there is a difference between justification and sanctification as well as the Law. To say that someone can't be a Christian if they wear a bikini is binding them by the law. If someone is wearing a bikini and is a Christian they're most likely in the justification process or a carnal Christian but they can still be saved. I do however feel that the Christians should not look like the world. But to say that someone is not saved because of how they're dressed is adding words to the Bible, and creating man made laws. No matter what God will always look at the heart. And just to make it plain I am not saying you can live in sin and be saved. Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

No the Bible says we are not to dress inappropriately in the church or out the church smh and in the Bible it's says that one can judge another person's sin if they themselves are not doing that sin....so saying that..men and women should dress fully clothed addressing our God
Humans are in deprived state already. If everything depends on what we feel and we think and our heart feels then there is no need for Bible. We have the word of Lord, and dressing guidelines are mentioned both in Old Testament and New Testament for Believers to follow. “Follow” not to think how we feel about it. God will love us and God knows our nakedness. But the scripture is for us, human to follow to honour God in front of Him as well as others. You don’t dress for the world but dress for the honour of Lord through your deeds and your body. Someone can lust even when someone is wearing a burkha and someone cannot be excited even when someone is naked. But even if a single person is left in the world the scripture applies to him or her and God sees how he she honours Him
I love your points here. So I had a woman spend her whole day, today, commenting and replying to comments I’ve left on ministry video threads because of this profile picture. In case I’ve already changed it, I’m wearing a suit and a “flesh-colored” tank top underneath about 5 years ago when I was in law school in Miami and haven’t updated it. Happens to be a rust colored shirt, but my skin tone is naturally darker, and this woman said I look like a “Canaanite women” and told me to change it. My first instinct was to go to The Word and pray about it because I’m not on here to tongue-lash or scoff, but I was even engaging in a Christian video and quoting scripture that had nothing to do with me or my profile. Just...got attacked. Anyway, you’re voice of reason, soft spoken with grace, is appreciated. I may change my profile picture for the first time in five years just because I want to honor God, but not because some “Christian person” decided to bark righteousness at me, as they see it. 😢 Lulling from James 3 and bridling my tongue, as I do aspire to walk with God and want my Faith to show it through my works.
Its situational on where I am and what I am doing. Will determine what is appropriate for the occasion. I use to be under bondage of religion and legalism, but now I tend to see it as a more grey area, and left up to wisdom and more of a cultural thing, than a sin thing. Especially when one studies out the context of 1st Timothy and the message of modesty to his original audience. 🤷🏻♀️
So you are leaving it up to the person to interpret what he or she feels pleases God? I'm concerned that you are treading lightly on this one? We have a conscience and Christian's should have a higher level of discernment for things of the lord. A Christian should be concerned as to whether his/her attire and behavior in group worship might be a distraction to weaker vessels. I suspect you give that leeway because you participate in the below modest dressing for group worship. You mentioned mid thigh dresses being fine and acceptable for worship in your eyes. Isn't there way too much revealing outfits in society? Why take it to worship. Take this as an opinion if you wish or call me old fashioned; you have a ways to go in spiritual maturity. If you admit it, then that is a good start
Unless it’s for church or other occasions I don’t like dressing modestly. I love dressing in tube tops and skinny jeans, skin tight dresses and basically everything people label as a “slut” however, I don’t like booty shorts or anything too revealing to the point where it shows my butt. I don’t dress this way b/c I’m a whore, I have a lot of self respect. I don’t dress like this for anyone’s attention. I dress like this b/c it makes me comfortable and happy. The only thing I’m showing really is my arms, shoulders, stomach and legs (through the ripped jeans) I’m not showing off my bottom or my private area or even my breasts (I don’t have that much chest) I personally think that Im not doing anything wrong....I just can’t do modesty... i feel uncomfortable, ugly, and just not myself...not right yk ? am I truly doing something wrong ?
I think when out of the home, it’s important for women to cover up properly. But if it’s just husband and wife at home, I think it’s ok not to cover up as long as the curtains are closed. After all, married couples can enjoy their partner’s body and there’s nothing wrong with it. Within a marriage, the two bodies are joined as one and not dressing modestly should be just confined to the bedroom and marriage bed. It’s the place where married couples rest and enjoy sexual intimacy with one another.
@@lear4767 no. You aren't doing anything wrong and I think you should dress however you want and in what makes you feel beautiful and confident. How a person views modesty should be based on their own walk with God and no someone else's opinion.
If you ask God how he thinks you should dress that’s a whole lot different. If you have a personal relationship with the Holy Spirit he will convict your heart if your stepping over the line. He just wants our hearts right with him. It might look different for some people then you but you don’t know what there relationship with God is. So there’s no room to judge if they have they a have a different level of modesty as you 🤷🏻♀️
EVERYONE! Being a Christain means she believes in GOD! It does not mean that she has to cover up her whole body! I'm a Christain, and I wear bikinis! What matters is that she's confident in her own skin. And by wearing a bikini she's proving that to people. Besides, her body is her body and you can't tell her what she can and can't do with it! She was brave enough to post this video, and you should appreciate her for that! If there's one thing you take from this it's this: you don't have to SUPPORT, but you should ACCEPT. GOD says love your neighbor as yourself, and your not. Your using him to tell her she's wrong. Does it make you feel good about yourself? If so, how? Also, you should feel fully confident with GOD on your side. GOD bless you all🙏🏻
Even just your first sentence is wrong. The devil believes in God and fears him. Sinners believe in God, but don't worship. God says if you love me, you keep my commandments. Deut. 22 says wearing what pertains unto a man is an ABOMINATION. and "her body" is God's body and then when she is married she becomes her husbands. Modest is to cover up, it's hard to understand, but its the truth REGARDLESS.
@@sundaecantu5413 Deut. 22 is Old Testament Mosaic Law. Didn't Jesus undo those laws? Also, what does and doesn't pertain to a man is subject to culture.
@@technoloverish No he didnt undo the laws, he became the sacrifice instead of the animals. We now take his spiritual sacrifice as payment for our sins instead of the goats and doves. But the Law still stands.
What I see in these comments are Christians judging each other, don’t forget we are all normal people and god is the judge of us we have no right to judge others. If you have a question about certain clothing just pray and ask god for the answer and he will tell you. But at the end of the day I don’t think someone is going to hell based on certain clothes they wear because the lord also talks about forgiveness. Some of these comments are annoying saying how she’s not a christian because of some of the things she said. Just read the Bible for yourself and if you don’t understand something do research.
*Nowhere in the Bible does it say that our bodies cause others to sin, that's a misinterpretation. The Bible is clear that our bodies are made in God's image and, because of that, we're the crown jewel of His creation. That's why there was no shame in nudity but we've lost sight of that but that doesn't mean that truth changes. Hebrews 13:8 tells us that Jesus is the same yesterday and today and tomorrow so if He thought our bodies were shameless yesterday, He still believes this today. Yes we have to cover certain areas of our bodies when we're in public because we'll get arrested for indecent exposure if we don't but clothing isn't God's creation nor was it ever intended by Him so it's not a priority of His. 1 Samuel 16:7 says WE LOOK AT PHYSICAL APPEARANCE WHILE GOD LOOKS AT THE HEART ❤ and that couldn't be any more true. David, Esther, Isaiah and Adam and Eve (before the fall) were all elevated when they embraced their natural beauty (bodies) so our bodies are not shameful "stumbling blocks", they're glorious elevation tools.*
I personally don’t where bikinis to the beach or like around my cousins to help many people with there walk with God. I think that it would help prevent guys to lust and stay pure. But I think that it’s completely fine wearing a bikini at my own pool or at my friends pool but I try to not wear bikinis around guys. And I do understand there are girls who are lesbian who would look at a girls body the same way a guy would, but I also try to prevent that from happening by staying with friends I know would not do that
Just to be clear, what are your thoughts on the legality of wearing bikinis around men. Someone else I debated with said women who do that should be fined and go to jail, though I feel like that's probably not a popular view, even among traditionalists. As for whether wearing bikinis around guys is a sin, I personally don't think it is. Part of the reason I say that is that the verse on modesty doesn't clearly define modesty, and what little it does say about modesty appears to basically define modesty as not wearing a bunch of braided hair or expensive jewelry. It basically seems to be about not flaunting one's wealth and not focusing more than necessarily on physical appearance. Also, the original Greek text of the verse where it says that someone who looks at a women with lust has committed adultery in his heart reads as "Ἠκούσατε ὅτι ἐρρέθη· οὐ μοιχεύσεις. ἐγὼ δὲ λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι πᾶς ὁ βλέπων γυναῖκα πρὸς τὸ ἐπιθυμῆσαι αὐτὴν ἤδη ἐμοίχευσεν αὐτὴν ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ αὐτοῦ." In English, that most closely means "You heard it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery,’ but I say to you that everyone who looks at a wife in order to covet her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” The word "γυναῖκα" means "woman" or "wife", depending on what the sentence it is in is about. Since the verse is about adultery, "wife" is the proper translation. The word "ἐπιθυμῆσαι" means "in order to covet". So the sin isn't a guy seeing a woman and having intimate thoughts about her. The sin is a man looking at a woman he knows is married and intentionally yearning to engage in sexual activity with her. Basically, the point is that a person who even considers the possibility of engaging in sexual activities with a married woman is guilty of committing mental adultery.
I have NO problem wearing a sexy bikini around my hubby, kids, strangers, or other males. That’s their problem if they have a religious spirit and can’t handle it. It is NOT MY responsibility to take care of their spiritual growth. They need to grow up and stop being so immature!
That doesn’t really align with the Bible. Wearing underwear in public is not modest. That’s what a bathing suit is, pretty underwear. Even in the early 1900s, the general public understood that, but Christians nowadays want to do whatever they see fit. “In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;” 1 Timothy 2:9 KJV www.bible.com/1/1ti.2.9.kjv
*The idea of "modesty" is an absolute joke. Very good commentary on modesty, very gracefully discussed. I agree with what you've said, me and my wife are both Christian and more liberal in our dress. We both understand that everyone is different, culture plays a huge role in modesty too.

@@damiannguyen6454 *The problem is most people don't even know what lust is. You probably think lust and sexuality are the same thing...guess what?...THEY'RE NOT. Sexuality is completely natural, healthy and proven to lengthen a life span. Lust is a manipulation of sexuality that harms yourself and others. Having a sexual feeling for someone isn't "lusting" after them. God created us to be sexual beings, that's why He gave us genitals and sex hormones. Also it's clinically proven that we benefit from daily masturbation meaning we benefit from sexual urges further proving that we're supposed to, by God's design, embrace our sexual nature. So even if someone is dressing to be enticing and turn heads, that's completely natural.*
You not right..... You need to repentance to have Holy Biblical GODLY vision about it. The Bible never says that is okay if you feel conformable..... WHAT???? Also in the Church is people should go and enter into God's presence, SO HOW YOU CAN enter in to God's presence like that????
It's not your place to tell someone they cant enter church. You should be happy they are coming because mabye they will change, dont chase people away from God because of the way they dress
I believe modesty starts in the heart. It’s also a sign of respect for oneself and for others. It’s respecting the relationships that other people have with one another and respecting our own relationship to God. Modesty means to cover your body so that it is not inappropriately exposed. To me this means covering more of your skin and private areas than other people around you are. So if everyone else is wearing bikinis being modest would be to be wearing a one piece or a top with shorts. Modesty is basically covering the areas of your body that are associated with what others perceive as sexually alluring.
You are a perfect example why women should not have authority over a man. Its not what you believe ...its never about you. Jesus came to serve not to be served.
@@NastasiaGrace looks like you missed plenty of comments. You should reply to the rest. We are called to preach the word... not to preach bikinis. Im sure you won't find bikinis is heaven.
Guys really research this, tip don’t show your curves. Christianity is not about ‘feelings’ as the HolySpirit!! Then you’ll know the truth, not your truth the Truth!!!
I promise you that I've been covered from the top of my neck to the bottom of my feet before and men have still lusted. Their sin is not my responsibility.
@@NastasiaGrace Yep. As a man myself, I believe men can and do lust after all types of women no matter what. That said, to be completely honest, I don't believe that wearing bikinis is a sin, nor do I think it's sin for men to see women and have intimate thoughts about them. The original Greek text of the verse that says everyone who looks a woman lustfully has committed adultery in his heart says "Ἠκούσατε ὅτι ἐρρέθη· οὐ μοιχεύσεις. ἐγὼ δὲ λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι πᾶς ὁ βλέπων γυναῖκα πρὸς τὸ ἐπιθυμῆσαι αὐτὴν ἤδη ἐμοίχευσεν αὐτὴν ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ αὐτοῦ." What that most closely means in English is “You heard it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery,’ but I say to you that everyone who looks at a wife in order to covet her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” The word "γυναῖκα", which means "woman", can also mean "wife", depending on the context. As the verse is about adultery, "wife" is likely the proper translation. And the word "ἐπιθυμῆσαι" means "in order to covet". So personally, I think the sin in question is looking a woman who one knows is already married and yearning to engage in sexual activity with them. It's basically a reminder of the importance of the old Jewish law that states that a person cannot covet their neighbor's wife.
Nastasia Grace so if I’m understanding your logic correctly, if you were to wear an entire burqa and one man still lusts for you, then you might as well walk around in a thong? Because by your own logic when you cover, and if a man still lusts, welp that proves it’s not your responsibility for men’s sin
Nastasia Grace the point is YOU should be making every effort to avoid men having lustful thoughts. Just because you can’t avoid causing lustful thought in 100% of men doesn’t mean you’re excused and free of taking responsibility to avoid causing lustful thoughts in the 99% of men.
@@Clarkcanepa Just to be clear, are you saying that women who don't dress modestly should go to jail for it? Also, a man seeing a woman and being sexually attracted to her is not a sin. The original Greek text of Matthew 5:27-28 reads "Ἠκούσατε ὅτι ἐρρέθη· οὐ μοιχεύσεις. ἐγὼ δὲ λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι πᾶς ὁ βλέπων γυναῖκα πρὸς τὸ ἐπιθυμῆσαι αὐτὴν ἤδη ἐμοίχευσεν αὐτὴν ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ αὐτοῦ." What that most closely means in English is “You heard it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery,’ but I say to you that everyone who looks at a wife in order to covet her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” The word γυναῖκα can mean "woman" or "wife". Since the verse is about adultery, "wife" is the proper translation. And the word ἐμοίχευσεν comes from the same Greek word used in the Old Testament the is used to say that you can't covet your neighbor's wife. It means "in order to covet". So the sin isn't seeing a woman and being sexually turned on. The sin is looking at a married women and yearning to engage in sexual activity with her. Churches and Bible translations, especially in evangelical communities, have greatly distorted the meaning of that verse. Furthermore, being sexually turned on by someone isn't lusting after them. Lusting, in the sexual sense, is an unhealthy sexual obsession that is basically objectifying a personal. It's completely normal to have sexual attraction to people and it is in no way sinful. So even if your interpretation was correct, the fact would be that just being sexually turned on wouldn't be a sin. The sin would be if you entertain that further, like by continuing to stare at someone. How you act on your feeling is 100% under your control. Plus, believe it or not, women also have sexual thoughts and they can and do lust too. Stop making this just about men. It seems to me like you just want to control women.
I'm a Christian male, and I'm fed up with all the body-shaming nonsense. The human form is God's finest work. Regarding it as something shameful that needs to be covered up do NOT glory God. It's an insult to his handiwork. I've been to many pool / beach parties, and in my younger years I worked several gigs as a nude art model. Zero regrets.
Zero Regrets ,wym broooo your body should be for 1 wife/husband. If your showing your body being naked then thats wrong. Your body is a temple of Christ.
@@sabiancapote7002 Very true that the body is a temple of Christ. All the more reason to NOT be ashamed of it. If you ever visit any of the great churches or museums of Europe, you'll see a lot of partially or fully nude paintings, sculptures, or statues on display- with Michelangelo's statue of David being the most famous example. My father suffered a stroke in December 2017. In that final year of his life, before he passed away this past December, I saw him nude many times while helping my mom care for him. My point is- after a while a body is just a body. Nothing to get all weirded out about.
@Revoque Chegmester I hear what you're saying and somewhat agree, but consider this. If it weren't for our fathers being attracted to and physically desiring our mothers, none of us would even exist right now. Attraction doesn't happen in a vacuum. If seeing a woman in a cute sundress or sexy swimsuit helps stimulate a man's desire to pursue her, to the point of eventual dating, courtship, marriage, and childbirth, thus fulfilling God's edict to "be fruitful and multiply", I'd say it's a win-win for everyone involved. Doesn't matter your age or gender- you're not gonna attract as many potential mates if you dress frumpy and dumpy.
@Revoque Chegmester Excellent points you have. That's why it's the man's responsibility to think with his brain, NOT his penis. Sometimes modesty / covering up can be impractical or even dangerous. A competitive cheerleader can't do all those complex and difficult stunts while wearing long pants and a baggy shirt. If she's a pro surfer or volleyball player, all that extra clothing is just gonna slow her down and maybe cause her to lose the match. I agree that sometimes, too much is too much. I LOVE seeing an attractive bikini-clad woman at the beach or the pool, but when I see a "working girl" wearing the exact same thing while walking down the street, I think she looks ridiculous and even a little pathetic.
Christopher O. I am so with you on this. Especially as a sexual assault survivor. I am so tired of hearing “you’re a stumbling block” “what were you wearing” “you caused him to stumble” placing blame on us. Such damaging and dehumanizing words that church’s put on us. And cause many people to leave. Modesty is important, but it’s different for everyone.. how about we stop judging the girl that looks good in a bikini and NOT FOCUS SO MUCH ON IT, control your brain and your rude thoughts, or maybe pray for her instead. I am proud of my body, I’m a Christian, I’m a role model, I’m a Survivor, and I take responsibly for when I sin and I repent, I don’t blame other people for it and cram fear at them!
All I see in these comments are lukewarm Christians who love their own opinion more than Yahweh. Here’s a challenge... dress like a Nun for a week and see how men treat you vs dressing how you feel. I think you’d be surprised how much better men will treat you when completely covered. It’s about respecting yourself but ultimately respecting God.
If men can't respect women regardless of what they wear, then those men do not truly respect women and are probably men who are, perhaps without being open about it, viewing a lot of porn in their personal lives.
@Onion Face For starters, I feel that a lot of people here are judging women who aren't even necessarily Christians for what they are wearing. So I don't feel that everyone here is applying it exclusively to Christian women, but you might be. To answer your question, I think the morality of it really depends on the context. The Bible doesn't give any clearcut verse that says what body parts have to be cover and under what circumstances. Genesis does show God clothing the first people, but there are two issues using that against women showing skin in public. The first is that it show God clothing them equally. It gives no indication that he clothed one of them more than the other on the basis of gender or anything. The second problem is that while it may be true that the first people were literally naked, it's unlikely the message of Genesis is that literal nakedness is shameful. It's far more likely that Genesis is referring to spiritual nakedness and spiritual clothing. Indeed, there are parts of The Bible in which nakedness is about lacking the presence of God and other similar things. So the message of Genesis is probably that Adam and Eve originally lacked any belief in God but eventually were clothed (woke) after having acknowledged God's existence. God is, metaphorically, a believer's covering. Without God, a person is empty. The New Testament does say that women should dress modestly, but that verse indicates that dress modestly is basically about not adorning yourself in a lot of fancy clothing an jewelry,. It's basically saying not to be overly occupied with perfecting your outward appearance and showing it off. Modesty is culturally and contextually subjective. For instance, you obviously wouldn't use a swimsuit at church, but at a beach where that's the norm, it should be fine. You could probably even argue that wearing a lot more than everyone else in that context would be immodest, given that that would draw more attention to you in that setting.

God bless.

*Bathing, changing clothes, childbirth, breastfeeding, using the bathroom, sleeping, going to a sauna, getting a massage (at a spa), nurturing the elderly, nurturing the handicap ♿, locker rooms (for athletes).*
*All of these things require (or can involve) nudity but have nothing to do with anything sexual. Why? Because nudity isn't inherently sexual, it's only looked at like that because we make it sexual. So we can't assume that someone showing skin (not necessarily completely nude) is "sexualising" themselves so we can't say that you can "cause someone to lust" by not dressing "modestly".*

Christians can wear bikinis 👙
ua-cam.com/video/in6m39UVNUw/v-deo.html
Yes they can! but is it wise? Is it a stumbling block? Is it modest?is it appropriate? Christians can do anything doesn't mean they should
Ok, I shouldn’t but here I go….
I PERSONALLY, would like to reserve my body only for my husband to see but that is just my opinion.
pornography was viewed as immoral and bad 100 years ago 1920 now in the year 2020 it is viewed as good and normalized in mainstream culture..mainstream culture is so different than the bibles culture its like night and day.
recently I've felt like getting a tankini/swim dress. the more modest the better.
As a man, I feel it shows a woman's heart when I see one wearing super revealing clothing. The question is "what is she trying to show the world?"
Maybe she just hot and tryin to get a tan
Or maybe she’s trying to show the world that she works out lol
I honestly thing most are just trying to look good to people, get their attention and FEEL GOOD ABOUT THEMSELVES OR THEIR BODIES
@@feels6233 She should save her "hotness" for her husband. If she's trying to get a tan, that could lead to skin cancer.
I feel comfy in short clothes and i believe we should respect others choices.
A sin is a sin is a sin. What Bible are you reading to get your view on sin?
What college did you go to :)
So I have a question, so is weird that things only feel sin just because adults and family members make you feel like they are bc that happens a lot. I only feel like I shouldn’t be doing something because my family makes it come across as sin.
I feel you 😓
When you've got the Holy Spirit within uu, you'll immediately know that whatever it is you're doing is wrong.
I love how respectful and nonjudgmental you are💕 you really set an example for how Christians should act.

I think Christian women should dress modestly. Dressing in an alluring and sexy way (Especially bikinis)can cause men to have lustful thoughts.
Yes ,I agree watch this ua-cam.com/video/AvevasbGLdk/v-deo.html
But I feel it’s ok when in the bedroom with your spouse. However, it should be strictly in the bedroom especially if there’s children or maybe the parents or domestic helper at home. Sexual intimacy should be enjoyed by couples in private as their bodies belong to each other and they are allowed to be naked in front of each other.
*Clothing can't cause lust. Most people who use that word have no idea what it even means.*
WELL SAID!!! 🙌
Just to be clear, are you saying that wearing bikinis should be a crime? Also, where does the Bible say "thou shall not wear a bikini"?
I AGREE
*There are two types of modesty: Spiritual and physical*
*The Spiritual aspect is true 1000% and is made perfectly clear all throughout the Bible. It shows in the way we act and treat one another. It's what we carry in our hearts and minds and spirits. This is what God cares about and what we should be striving towards.*
*Physical modesty is a lie. It's nothing but a man made ideology designed to manipulate and control one another due to our lust for power. It's based on ignorance and our lack of understanding of what our bodies truly represent. This has no basis in the Bible or science.*
Men don't care about modesty. I love being naked. Girls I know do believe in modesty
We also can’t judge others based on a standard they don’t believe in :) it’s some of the best advice I’ve ever heard and honestly helped the fact of judging other people a lot for me
No, we are to judge them on what the Bible teaches. That’s biblical.
@@AlaskaWild For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge? God judges those outside. (1 Corinthians 5:12-13)
Judge not, that you be not judged. (Matthew 7:1-5)

We sin by acting against God's will, in thought, word, and deed. I don't agree that everyone has their own personal sins that are based on their conscience.
@@al.345
Just to be clear, are you saying that it should be illegal for women to, for example, wear bikinis at the beach, or are you just saying you don't agree with it? Also worth noting is that the verse says "women should" and is probably in the context of women who are praying in the temple. It doesn't say "women must" or anything like that, and the notion that it has to do with women who are praying in the temple is further supported by the fact that the New Testament also says that women who pray pray or preach to people have to cover their hair while doing so. Furthermore, you're forcing a modern definition of modesty into the text that isn't found in the verse. What is and isn't modesty is subjective to culture and context and you could even probably argue that completely cover up at a beach where everyone else is wearing bikinis is immodest in that context.
@@al.345 Furthermore, the keyboard in that verse is "shoud". It doesn't says "women must" or anything like that.

That's a good point! Thanks for giving that perspective!

Why don’t I be led by god and his teachings which preserved and authentic ?
Question... so if a woman wears something... slutty... for lack of better understanding, is that considered lust? Or... provoking someone to sin?
"Therefore present your bodies as living sacrifices, which is your due service", wrote the Apostle Paul.
[In light of the fact that God gave his son to be crucified to pay for our sins]
There's no rule as such, but I think it's nice if they don't. Worrying about yourself can lead to selfish behavior.
It's not good is lust
the question should be: should Christians wear bikini's?

Christians don’t always have to be modest even though it’s preferred.
Love your beautiful name. Can't pronounce it, but love it.

Can you be a Christian and wear a bikini? Yes, because the only requirement to be saved is to believe... However if you believe right you will act right.
Wrong! To be a christian is to LIVE the word, and the word says it plain and clear.

What's your view on modesty? Do you cover all up or could you not care less haha let me know!!!
So there’s no room to judge if they have they a have a different level of modesty as you 🤷🏻♀️
ofc not

Straight facts.

Deut. 22 is Old Testament Mosaic Law. Didn't Jesus undo those laws? Also, what does and doesn't pertain to a man is subject to culture.
If you’re going to wear one, then wear it at home. Sorry, it doesn’t align with the Bible to wear it out in public.
@@technoloverish No he didnt undo the laws, he became the sacrifice instead of the animals.
We now take his spiritual sacrifice as payment for our sins instead of the goats and doves.

“In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;”

Yep.
@@Clarkcanepa
Just to be clear, are you saying that women who don't dress modestly should go to jail for it? It seems to me like you just want to control women.
in my opinion for the most part i think bikinis are fine as long as the top covers your top and your bottoms cover your bottom
my question is, is it ok to wear bikinis if you are a christian
Nooooo
Less is more
I'm a Christian male, and I'm fed up with all the body-shaming nonsense.
@Onion Face
For starters, I feel that a lot of people here are judging women who aren't even necessarily Christians for what they are wearing.
I've seen some muslims responding.
