- In this video Simone reviews the 2017 Suzuki S-Cross Turbo Prestige model. Whilst it might look a little ordinary in it’s design, Suzuki’s new S-Cross offers a lot in terms of performance and comfort, and by a lot I mean it ticks the boxes as a comfortable and practical day to day drive. The Turbo Prestige model we review is the top trim.
It’s a well priced small 2WD SUV that sits in a very competitive category with SUV’s like the Honda HR-V, Toyota Rav 4 and Mazda CX-3.

4:03 Active safety is for ppl who can't drive.... honestly.... it's a nightmare. Human intiuition can't be beat by dumb machines and digital meddlesome shizzle that can't see context and overanalyzes. I find ESP and EBD already 'active' enough.

Lets be honest, these crossovers are just slightly taller family hatchbacks, so 4WD is completely unnessesary. Not having it as an option simplify production, lower the cost and free up space, where the transmission tunnel would otherwise have been. All of which make perfect sense for the intended users of the car.
As for styling this is also just a family car, while the Vitara is somewhat more funky looking and more targeted towards young buyers.
Agreed, but with any 'elevated' car we have that air of off-road capability, which is often not the case with these modern cars. With AWD it would definitely be more capable off-road, but this is not its purpose anyway
That is quite odd decision from Suzuki, not to include 4WD option for Australian market. Across the EU, all versions of S-Cross have 4WD option, even the 1.0. The same is with Vitara, and even Swift is available as 4WD
You can go further in rough terrains with 2WD than you think!!
If it actually has 4WD as an option, it is indeed a weird decision to offer it to customers in Europe but not Australia. But other manufacturers are making crossovers with no 4WD option now. And I think, that makes perfect sense. As firemarioflower say, you can go a lot further with 2WD, than most people think.
The main thing for driving of rough roads or mild offroad conditions is ground clearance not 4WD. Even if you cross Afrika or the Australian outback in a traditional offroader, you are hardly ever going to actually engage the 4WD system. Its really only for river crossings and going through deep mud, which noone is going to do in crossover anyway.
Then there are people, who say, they need 4WD, because they live in an area, which have snow in the winter. But its not like, you cant go through snow with FWD either. You can go though quite a lot of snow with FWD actually, if you know, what you are doing. And if the snow is really that deep, then you should probably wait for the road to be cleared anyway.

Funny market decisions Suzuki does: here in Europe, where noone really drives beside real streets, there is a 4x4 versions, but in Australia not? Also: why didn't they include Android Auto? I mean, I don't need it, but when Apple Car Play is already there...? All in all it's a nice crossover for people with a limited budget or who put more emphasis on robustness than on the last quirky quality point - like my dad. He's just not into all those modern features.
To Simone: you look gorgeous in this outfit!
Furthermore, they decided the car would sell more if they glued a "Turbo" badge at the rear - really silly!

Been driving a Prestige for past year. Just great. It's pretty much as Simone describes it. The torque at low revs and punch when you need it is amazing. If you have to enter a fast moving tollway/freeway from an access lane you sometimes need some instant acceleration. A breeze for this thing.
A pleasure to drive. Our budget didn't extend beyond 30K so happy to have found it. You're not getting the cachet of Audi/VW plush interiors etc., but there's hardly any on the road, so you're kinda special, LOL. Hatch cargo area is cavernous for its external size. Have had to have non-user-choosers until recently, so am a full Suzuki convert. Wife drives 2017 Swift Navi; aka a little go-kart. Love it too.

Were pensioner's with back problems, so we need an Suv.or A Cuv.type car, as we find it too difficult to enter & exit a normal low set vehicle.

Hi folks. Where the heck have they hidden the Australian compliance plate on these things? I've been told mine was man in 3/2017 but first registered in 5/2018. The only plate I can find is the original manufacturer's one on the lip inside drivers door...help please!
