As a hairstylist: This video was a delight. I had too much fun watching this. I fucking loved the mullet and the bowl cut. Was it "how it's supposed to be done"? Of course not, but I'm not here to judge, I just think it's fun to watch people experiment with their hair. A lot of clients assume I'm going to judge them or kind of...look down on their efforts if they do their own thing with their hair. But I don't get anything out of critiquing it, and it's YOUR hair. I just happen to know how to do it professionally. But this was fun. You're the type of client I'd love to have because you're not uptight about your hair. "It's just hair" is the right attitude to have. EDIT: Also, the last cut is actually really easy to salvage and make look awesome. She snipped a bit of a "bald spot" in the back, but I would just do a fade with maybe a 1 or a 1/2 guard and fade that up into the top, and have it be disconnected. Finesse the top with a little more blending and trimming and It would look really good! Nothing to worry about at ALL.

As much "it's just hair" is a great attitude to have it isn't realistic to expect everyone is going to be able to get to that point with their hair. Hair is very tied to people's self image because it is something they can easily control and change when other parts of your appearance don't feel as changeable.

You're my favorite type of hair stylist. I have an extremely "it's just hair" attitude and mangle my hair on a regular basis, but I have to fix it myself because I can't find a stylist in my area that I vibe with. They're all very uptight and insist on doing very feminine cuts on me and I just don't wanna deal with that.

@@taritangeo4948 boo, you shouldn't wash your hair more than 3 times a week. And you should use conditioner every time. Shampoo strips all of the good oil from your hair. Conditioner adds some back. If you conditioned every day, then yes, your hair is going to be too greasy.
Once you get in a habit of washing 2/3 times a week, and conditioning it every time, you will not have that problem.

hello i am a 29-year-old woman who has literally done makeup professionally but had a huge mental/physical block against doing my own hair, and uh, this video got rid of that? Like. This is the most helpful hair video i have ever encountered, bc for some reason i could not conceptualize how to dry my hair in a way that would make it do what i wanted and all the other resources i've used assumed i already knew. so uh, thank you for massively leveling up my hair game? like. i can get it to hold a curl now?? I also got good at darts by watching his dart video, so I'd say its a full series at this point.
That was a personal and introspective look into his process of creating jorts and was just meant as an aid to take your first steps on your own very personal journey to jorts and it is in no way meant to be a step to step tutorial, which you would know if you were in any way familiar with his filmography or discography.
The jorts made him forget the pain of making jorts, like childbirth, so he can make more jorts to repopulate the jorts ecosystem
