The Negear N300 extender/wifi repeater is extremely small and simply plugs into an AC 110v wall socket. It connects or makes a network link connection with your existing wifi router. Now here's the best part. You don't even have to go near your existing wifi router and never have to change anything in your existing wifi router configuration. Once it has made a wireless link connection with your existing home wireless router, it will repeat your wifi signal even at the very edge of your wireless router coverage. In other words, just like the name says, it's a wifi range extender.
You can also use the Ethernet port/LAN port (RJ45) on the bottom of the wifi repeater, that allows you to connect those devices that have no wireless ability and must connect via a LAN cable. Like some older LAN printers or desktop computers.
This NETGEAR WiFI Range Extender N300 Wn300RP was on sale at Walmart for $29.00. It's also refer to as model Netgear n300 wifi range extender ex2700 or Netgear range extender WN3000RPv3 too. I just could not past it up. The price was right for a well known retail brand wireless repeater device for the house.
My Assessment of this NETGEAR Repeater:
The wireless repeater/wireless booster and also called a WiFi Extender from NETGEAR gave me very good strong signal strength in almost every location I placed it, in my house. I was really not expecting it to work so well. The wireless signal was strong but what was most important in my opinion was it gave a consistent strong signal. No WiFi dropouts while I was monitoring it over a 3 hour time windows. It gain my trust and confidence quickly. In conclusion, this is the easiest way to learn how to extend wifi range by using this router extender in your house. It also BTW makes a great WiFi extender for gaming too. And just for a second BTW you can easily see how to fix Smart TV slow internet issues by watching this video on NETGEAR WiFi Extender N300.
BTW, one last thing.
If you Google wifi repeater walmart or wifi extender walmart, sure enough you will find this repeater over at Walmart for around the same price I bought it for. Check it out if my video got you interested or curious about this wifi extender or wifi booster.

1) Will it eliminate Wi-Fi Dead Zones in my house? Yes.
2) Does it give good signal strength in WiFi Dead Zone spots? Yes.

Just brought a NETGEAR wifi Range Extender and Thank you so very much for having this video still posted even though you did this back in Dec. 2016. You explained it very clear in which I could understand besides slow, so I could pause it and not miss anything afterwards. This helped a lot, not that I have windows 10 but you explained it all different ways in hooking it up and connecting.
does it help with internet or just expands the range of it?

Thank you so much for the video. I had tried several times using the inst. in the box to get my extender installed but could not get it so just reboxed it and set aside. Your video explained it so simple and easy, I was able to hook it up in 10 min. after days of frustration, needing extra BP medication to reduce the high BP it had caused me, and saved me calling a computer company to come hook it up for me. It was easy as pie after watching your video. THANK YOU.. you have extended my life expectancy.. ha
After an hour of frustration, I plugged this in right next to my router, and I was connected within seconds. Now I can move it to it's permanent location.

I just tried to add a Seriud Wifi extender. I can't find anything on the web about this product. I can't get the passwords to work. I boxed it up and went with the netgear instead.

Try different locations for the n300 to get better signal strength from your router.

Why bother reviewing if you don't have all various possible setups explored? What is WPS and if I only have a LAN router and want to become a WiFi hot spot how does that work?
Just try connecting the lan wire to the extender....and there you go with the hotspot

You could have shortened this video to 5min. What I wanted to see in the review is if it does extend a device to full bars in an area of the house were the wifi is slow/spoty.. Why would I need a wifi extender in an area of the house were there are full bar??

I have a nighthawk R7000 router which has served me well for a couple of years. About 6 months ago I was unable to find it on my PC to do any updates. I have tried everything to find it on my computer to access it. Not available. Please advise me or help.
Your video is great and worked perfectly! My Story - Bought my AC1200 Netgear Range Extender, Model EX6150v2 about 2 years ago. Worked fine (okay, had hassles trying to set it up at first) and it was bulletproof for years. Then I swapped out routers and had to "mate" my Extender to my new router. 1st problem was I opened NetGear Genie and it said there was an update available, so I updated. When I looked at Genie to set up my AC1200 it didn't list my model, so I tried following the links to mywifiext.com and it went nowhere. My solution was to plug in the AC1200, let it warm up until I had two green lights, then put the end of a paperclip into the hole labeled "Factory Reset" for about 10 seconds. I think it came up with only one green light - anyway once it was in reset mode I was able to find it in my WiFi list and use mywifiext.com in my browser and everything worked the way this video said it would work. Once it was setup I unplugged it and moved it to the room that had a weak signal. Thank you Nickscomputerfix!

in my case it did the complete opposite to extend. It slowed down my wireless network.

question guys? my router is down stairs, and my PS4 is UP Stairs, and my NETGEAR, Do i put that UPSTAIRS plugged in Next to my PS4 and set it up? and insert a ETHERNET cable from NETGEAR to PS4?
Baffoono if it has an ethernet port then you can do that but sometimes when you use repeaters for gaming you end up with double nat so I found a way around that situation, I put my extender in the DMZ of my router and my nat was open on my Xbox so I assume it would be the same on ps4

I have to admit, this video was helpful. I follow each step, though the last part was different for me, mine said something about not connected because of two SSID havin the same user name if I could remember earlier when I was setting it up. It didn't really matter to me, because It somehow connected after a minute. I think I click continue again... But anyway the tutorial was clear, and I successfully got mines connected!Thanks man!

10 mins is the "magic number" for increasing youtube ad revenue. Learning to avoid videos that are just over 10 mins coz they usually are longer than needed and dont get to the point

Is the Ethernet port used to connect one device or network input?
It serves two functions. 1) In order to get to the setup screen, you are required to hook up the extender to a device, such as a laptop, via ethernet cable. 2) After the setup, you are given the option to link up your router to your extender via the same cable.
Obviously to used as any fucking ethernet port is used, to connect to the internet. How fucking dumb can you be?
What does that two left and right arrows show...? I Saw them lit with blue LEDs, what's it for...?
In my video a diagram is shown with labels for all lights and arrows... Router Link and Client Link.

Im glad it's lite i hate getting weighed down by my other extenders
I live in Copenhagen and the interference with thousands of other folks wifi signals is nuts. Have a big apartment and we can't extend the router to the center naturally, I at first changed the channel of both wifi signals and it definitely helped a lot. I was able to connect my Xbox in the furthest room but still not strong enough to get past 15% of an update. So I look forward to seeing how well I can play my games on this. :)

i just ordered this earlier and it's coming this friday, hoping it will fix my issues because my router was located in my basement while im getting bad signals in my room from my basement to 2nd floor lol.
I received an upgrade from Frontier, and they disabled the wifi on my router and added a eero mesh extender. So now I cannot get my ring floodlight camera to work which was using my netgear n300 extender that was in turn connected to my router. So i think i'm screwed because I don't believe I can piggy back the netgear extender off the eero extender.
My ring doorbell camera still works as it used the wifi directly from the router and works with the eero extender. Any thoughts?
