Good video about family history, GunGeek. ... Wikipedia has a page about the ~1927 Nova Scotia hurricane.~ The vessel Columbia (with 23 in the crew) is listed with the lost ships. ... There's also a separate page about ~Sable Island~ with information about the wrecks, horses, and much more. .... The article in Wikipedia is worth a read, as Sable Island is a noted place, with a lot of history for such a small place.
We just bought this map at Brimfield for $40. Looks exactly the same but is a framed poster board.
Thanks for sharing!!!!
That is awesome!
Good video

I had that map years ago. Id love to have a new copy of that map
might be new ones made?
@@Gungeek I'm sure there has to be. I'm just not sure where to even look, as I was gifted the one I had 40 years ago
Nice find and lots of history.
Cool find, they call the west coast of Vancouver Island "graveyard of the pacific" I had a similar map as a kid. That's a keeper for sure.👍
thanks for watching :)
My Great Great Grandparents shipwrecked there on the "Milo" in 1847 escaping the Irish Famine. They were stuck on Sable Island for a few weeks.
Thanks for commenting :)

It's in pretty good shape to have been found outside.
I don't think it was there very long.

You live in an interesting, albeit often overlooked , area,. Provincial history from a local Dominion citizen would be nice to learn
always liked history.
I think this location has been known as one of the 12 Vile Vortices. It doesn't the have mystery Bermuda Triangle.
