    Hey Charles! Your humble teaching style never fails to amuse me. Thank you for appreciating admission of mistakes/confusions/questions. A sincere request to release more Starter Kit videos for topics such as PnC and Coordinate Geometry. Would like special emphasis on attempting questions from those topics in the most efficient way possible (same as the current starter kit).

    This quant series was really great and helpful ! Thank you @gmatclub and Charles !! Request if you could share more session within this series on topics- number properties, probability, P&C. Also, wanted to understand how many questions can we expect in Quant section from Mixture word problem ?

      Thank you very much for your feedback. We will certainly consider your suggestions while planning the next series. To answer your question about mixture problems, you can expect approx 1% questions on mixture and related concepts. Here is complete breakdown of all the topics tested and their respective weights gmatclub.com/forum/gmat-syllabus-for-focus-edition-424188.html

    Q3, question about durian and mango. easier way to answer this is to look at the ratios that were give. Initially 3:8 and later 1:3. So initial Durian total must be a multiple of 8. Otherwise you get fractional Durians. That rules out C and E. (3,8) (9,24), (33,88) becomes the possible set. Taking 3 mangoes out and adding durian means, we are left with the last set (30,90) that meets the ratio of 1:3. Answer is D/88

    Hey Charles! Just completed the entire GMAT Focus Math Starter series today. Thanks for the invaluable questions. I have a slight issue on the last bakery question. Statements 1 & 2 individually are easy to eliminate leaving with choices C or E. How does the % change for February determining what % change occurred for other months? The question no where states the % of muffins sold for bakery B cannot be less than 10% for other months and % of muffins sold for bakery A cannot be more than 10% for other months? How are we concluding on the basis of just one single month? Please let me know what I am failing to understand.

    Shouldn't Q4 be E ? .. because B says pre tax price is less than 70 .. where's the equation we get is pre tax price greater than 70 ..

    • @aryapadhye4772
      @aryapadhye4772 8 місяців тому +2

      We just need to answer the question "is the pretax price less than 70." Does'nt matter if the answer is yes or no, as long as it is consistent, that statement is sufficient.

    • @flowmv
      @flowmv 8 місяців тому +2

      Check the question again. They simply ask us if the tax was less than 10% or not. To determine this yes or no answer, we need to answer whether the pre-tax price is more than 70 or not.
      2nd statement states it's less than 70.
      This is enough for us to determine that it is NOT more than 70. Which means the tax was higher than 10%. So the information was sufficient to answer the question :)

    Q5, (1) is insufficient because you are just given % and not absolute value. (2) tells us the value in Feb but nothing about the rest of the year. So A, B, D are out. If we combine the data, we get the following, Bakery A produced less than 10% of their yearly total in Feb and the Feb production was greater than 3500. Thus at least 10% of the total must be 3500 or total production must be at least 35,000. Similarly Bakery B produced more than 10% of their yearly total in Feb and Feb production was less that 3500. So 10% of yearly production couldn't be more than 3500 or yearly production couldn't have been more than 35,000. Thus C.
    Another way to look at the combined data.
    For Bakery A 3500 < Feb Production < 10% of total or 35000 < 10* Feb Production < x.
    For Bakery B 10% of total< Feb production< 3500, Total < 10* Feb production < 35000
    Thus Bakery B is less than 35,000 and Bakery is greater than 35,000.
