Exactly but they are experienced and phone tech has grown so much to be a bit easier for new companies to enter the competition. It's Nothing but underneath it's 80 percent OnePlus and iPhone (Engineers and designers). They're doing great 😃👍

they need to reduce the Price from Phone 3 this new phone is completely overpriced. For the Price they should have given things like IP68 Water resistance and a Telephoto Lens (which i guess that's fine because Pixel 7 doesn't have it either). Anyway upgrading only the CPU shouldn't have raised the price so much they haven't made a lot of changes. Plus they have a lot of QC Issues like dust between the phone and back glass for a lot of people which you can't remove because it's inside but you'll always see it there.
I was confused between nothing phone 2 and galaxy S23 and I made the best decision to buy a galaxy S23. Because it's a flagship phone compared to a flagship killer phone.

I think that you should consider the size. It's a really different experience. And, of course, the design. I'm really happy with my s23 as I love and need compact phones.
The thing here is, as it seems, nothing phone 2 is not a successor to the phone 1, it is the top of their line aiming for it to be a premium midrange, so if you consider the other cellphones as premium midranges then the comparison was quite fair.
Interesting that you gave the Nothing Phone the highest score (4 points) in the camera test even though it was the worst 😅

No bro, it's a mistake in editing, just watch at 2:52, Nothing has 8 points after design review, but after camera test, it shows 5 points which is done by mistake, so they add only 1 point 8 to 9 but it shows 5 to 9.
Good catch! The error wasn't actually in the scoring, but what was shown on the screen. After the display, the Nothing had 8 points. With the 1 from the camera, it would have 9, which is what it has after the camera.
The only issue here is that it's showing "5" rather than "8" , before the camera scoring. But in the end, the scoring is still correct.

I think the reason why nothing phone is becoming so highly popular is because it's run by a real guy who uses the phone and has a real interest in mobile technologies. Look him up! He has been interviewed by quite a few UA-cam influencers like MKBHD and Mr who's the boss. He's a super down to earth guy who doesn't mind saying the truth. He even talks about how great the iPhone is. That just shows you that he knows what quality is! And since he runs a business and he's pretty logical and rational I have no doubts that the future of nothing will be great if he keeps up with this trajectory

Really great comparison, just what i was looking for. My only misgiving is the fact that the pixel 7 has been received incredibly well and I think in a more comprehensive tests ive seen in all scenarios its camera is much better than the Nothings. Also the pixel 7 sits a lot higher than the iphone 14 on DxOmark imaging tests too.
I am using pixel 7 pro, I m from a relatively hotter country , that being said heating issue is a nightmare plus front cam focuses on background and gives you blurry image. Battery is just straight out trash.
I have the pixel 7 and a iphone 14 pro and the pixel has waaaaay better camera.
Pixel 7 also can take photos after showing it a hand after June 2023 feature drop. All you have to do is set the timer.
Nothing phone's owner is super chill and very humble. No other owner went on tech youtubers channels to answer questions about his creation 👍🏽👍🏽

Nice comparison, but I think there's a flaw, the price shouldn't be given points like the other categories since it's a comparison of value, you just do the point system for all the categories and then do a division by price to get the points per dollar score, that'd be the real show of value

If nothing would have gave IP68 resistance and good HDR cameras would have been great device for me but now it hangs in-between. I actually prefer s23 or pixel than nothing 2.

Great video and comparison. Only think is that you didn't mention the nothing phone 2 has an ltpo display, which will help with battery life and usage down the road and I would at least give it and extra point or two for that.
Samsung does have variable refresh rate, but with the more linear scale, and the pixel just has an auto mode that switches between 90 and 60 hz
Carl is doing a great job positioning the nothing phone in the market space that it's very competitive right now and standing out with the gliph interface (though I hope it gets more functionality in the future)
The Nothing ear(2) does offer better sound quality with Nothing phone, ear(2) supports lhdc which only works with the Nothing phone and a few chinese brands like Xiaomi and Oneplus, that's the best codec on any wireless earbuds right now, even superior to Sony's ldac

With Android 14, all the issues mentioned have been fixed. The Pixel is unrivalled in experience, i traded my S23 for it. I have had no issues with the battery life or heating. I also have a noticed any glitches apart from the reddit app being just the worst.
Any idea on how pixel 7 fares in India, to be specific has the connectivity issues with 5G has been sorted out?
with android 14 i have seen at least 3/4 bugs in only 2 weeks, on pixel 7 pro...

Nothing ear 2's do have a special functionality with the Phone 2, you can put it on the back and the Glyph will light up and charge the Headphones
The s23 is a awesome phone.. but I don't like the UI and second account management for Samsung applications
Should've included the OnePlus 11 in this bcuz it has GREAT specs 80 watt charging to full in 27 mins, beautiful screen, long battery life and a great camera...

Agreed 👍 the iphone and Samsung are the two most expensive (UK) I think the Nothing phone is similar in price if not cheaper than the pixel 7. Considering Nothing is a UK brand it's pricing is unfair

Also, one deal breaker for me with the Nothing phone 2 and op 11 is the lack of ip68 rating.
One thing to note is that the Nothing has an LTPO 1-120Hz panel (think it's LTPO2, but correct me if I'm wrong), whereas the Samsung has 48-120Hz.
Samsung does have their air drop like quick share and you can use tablets as extra desktop for ur lap and also move cursors. You didnt mention that.
You didn't mention Dex in the ecosys part for Samsung. That alone pushes it ahead of Apple imo.
Stuffs like using yoit tablet as a second screen for laptop AND PHONE. Universal drag and drop etc. Are also available on samsung

I found that the pixel 7 was the cheapest $400 followed by s23 then phone 2 and lastly the Iphone 14 as the most expensive phone $800. I was shocked to find out that the s23 was actually cheaper than the phone 2.

Depends which country you live in. The Samsung S23 is over £700 in the UK , the iphone is similar in price. The Nothing phone is similar in price to the Pixel 7, possibly slightly cheaper
Pixel 7 for $4-450 is pretty good for the price.
In India,even s22 base model is 1.5x expensive than nothing 2.
(Apple and pixel also has a big price gap )

Pixel 7 portrait mode is good. It is little digitally zoom . I'm using Pixel 6 and it is very good. After latest updates. The portrait mode is very good now. sometimes bokeh looks like DSLR. I hope in future pixel 8 will improve portrait mode.

@TrainingAddict666 I recently switched to the S23 and the battery is actually pretty good, especially for its size. Pretty comparable to the iPhone 13/14. I used to have an S22 PLUS, and that thing had way worse battery life and overheating despite being bigger.

You put 4 points for the Nothing phone in the camera section when it should have got 1...but it still finishes 2nd in that case with a score of 20.
Was considering switching to OnePlus 11 or nothing phone 2 from my Flip 4. But it seems nothing phone 2 OS is pretty amazing let alone what has been mentioned in this video. So I'll be giving them a chance this time! Probably switching from my pixel buds pro to Ear 2 as well if there's any good offers.

Already to begin with, the most important thing for potential buyers is not the price of the different devices at their releases, but the price at the time of their purchase.
Then, everything you mentioned as "special" about the Apple ecosystem in possible in the Samsung ecosystem.
Also, I do not know with which charger block, you charge your S23, but the S23 recharges in 1h.
But above all, this Nothing Phone 2 is not worth its price, especially since currently, it is not very complicated to have an S23, OnePlus 11 or iPhone 13 at the same price, and a Pixel 7 cheaper.

This is possibly the best phone review/comparison video that I’ve ever watched. The amount of detail was perfect. Not too over the top to make a super long and boring video, but also more than enough information to really see what is best in each category. The only thing that I felt was missing was a features/functionality category, separate to design and usage. Although, I do feel like it was clear from other categories that the Nothing Phone 2 had the best features, with the iPhone being the worst here.

I have the s23 coming from iPhone 13. It's the best phone I have ever used, the most balanced phone I have.
Wild that there's somewhat of a consensus that google launched the best phone this year with the Pixel 7 yet it still got last in this comparison.
Really nice comparison. Two things, how amazing does that s23 feel in the hand? The size is just epic feeling especially as an s22 ultra user, it's small but mighty factor makes it one of my phones of the year.
Oh and thanks a million for mentioning the placing of the apps on the iPhone. You can spend nearly £2000 on an iPhone and not get to decide where to place apps... It's utter madness after all these years! No one talks about it!

I bought a Nothing Phone (1) after I had the Pixel 6a and chose the Nothing phone hands down. I've given up iPhones after the 6 plus, the pricing for what they provide is ridiculous. Haven't gotten a Samsung ever but tbh, I hooked on Nothing. Don't know if I'll buy the 2 but, if I were to get a new device, it'll be a Nothing - whether the 2 or the 3 after that since the OS is coming to the first phone soon enough.

None of those phones ever stood a chance against the S23.
It's all subjective. At the end of the day it's what the individual user wants . I love the S23 range, they are superb devices. But I'd be more inclined to go for the Nothing phone . Plus the more people support a growing company the more they will develop and progress. I'm a pixel user , but I think they've lost their way , especially in the hardware department, so I won't be buying one again.
Well in terms of cameras DxoMark puts the Pixel 7 much higher than the S23. And dxomarks testing is far more scientific and comprehensive.

Nothing phone is really taken off! I am a pixel fanboy and no other Android phone has really got me interested other than pixels but the nothing phone lineup is starting to look really tempting! If you follow the founder, by the way he seems like a really cool guy, he did mention that he's looking into other form factors... Yes! You heard me! Other form factors... Nothing fold? Maybe...

The nothing phone isn't about having the best camera and specs... It's about having the flashes, fun and coolest looking and phone.

On the picture side is hard to say, because you're using your preference, when other people may have different preference and also, I think, that the picture should simulates exactly what your eye sees, that is the perfect shot, if it has too in hens it and make it better, than of what you are I see, then.... that's not really a natural picture. And a phon camera should capture the moment that your eyes are seeing, if you what more then that, buy a proper camera or professional one.
I am a gen 1 iPhone former Apple user who switched last year to Android with nothing phone (1).
It's important to point out-which the most critics overlook-nothing came that far and this fast as a totally young enthusiastic fresh and most noticable small team. In comparison, Apple is old, wealthy with endless recourcess, and they are stuck on inovation on the phone market for around 6 years. Not that they are not putting quality on the market. It's just, that a company with this value and market power can be found in reviews like this comparison video. That's a big win for the nothing folk and I'm totally here for their success.

I use a s22 ultra and a Pixel 7 ... they are so comparable. I think all decent phones are these days. They're all so fast and powerful. Just pick the features you like and you're almost certainly gonna be happy.

I still don´t understand how people say that apple having a small battery is a bad thing, they literally last as long or longer on a 15-20% smaller battery. This is a pure positive. It could be bigger but not nescesery.
It's great that they last as long as bigger ones but in the long run, bigger batteries tend to age better which cancels it out I guess.
