- Penny Mordaunt, the Conservative leader of the House of Commons, has lost her seat in Portsmouth North.
"To anyone who is disappointed, democracy is never wrong," she said in defeat.

She was polled as popular and party member choice for party leader & PM twice: before Truss, and before Sunak. They colluded against her becoming leader. At the Coronation her ratings went through the roof, really unsettling Sunak. Her non-partisan book is impressive.
