    This worked perfectly! But some how after a couple weeks they came and disconnected. I did disconnect the blue and white wires, so not sure how they found out. God bless! And thanks for the video, this helped us so much during a hard time. Most of us are not criminals nor do we want free electricity, but bad stuff happens financially all the time, and it can happen to anyone. I never thought I would be forced to stop working due to any heath conditions, and no one wants there kids coming home to no lights, and that’s why I say god bless you!

    Thank you sir. I could do this if absolutly nessesary as Im a ham radio operator, but most would need a third party to carry this out. It would be easier to bypass the meter & disconnect the output of the meter but not input as the power company will know its been taken offline & with thick enough wires & a suitable fuse in the live side mimicking the electricity company fuse you connect to your distribution box connections. To the electric company the meter will communicate that power is off looking as it should be if they cut you off. Surly there must be security seals that have to be broken to obtain entry to the meter, & the electric company would know & an appearance in court on the horizon. With the cost of electricity in Britain in April 2022 I have invested in a1000 watt solar panel & 100 amp control unit. I have a few large batteries & a few power inverters. Im expecting my panel tomorrow. Im working towards dumping the electricity companies.

    Your video is very informative and interesting. Unfortunately, some people don't know what a latching relay is... or a shunt... or anything about safely doing this. It's nice to know that the power company will shut off your house because THEY THINK it is a good idea to leave you powerless during an emergency situation. We are all way too dependent on the utilities and grocery stores for the dangerous times we live in. I am going to rethink how I could survive during S.H.T.F. Water supply, Food supply, house heat & cool, and self protection. Thanks for the video.

      100% agree great comment. Crazy story. I used to be an electrician with the international Brotherhood of electrical Union. for the US and canada. Anyway, long story short I lost my job due to complications with covid, health issues and a few other things. I was having trouble paying my electric bill. Im currently Seeking help with paying off the large balance I accrued. I'm pretty much done with all the paperwork and things should be working out soon
      However, even with my temporarily disabled wife awaiting surgery, not to mention she's 12 weeks pregnant!
      the utility company being aware of all this information, I just woke up this morning to no electric. My local utility company shut me off in the middle of the night knowing that the temperatures are below freezing this time of year where I live. They know that I need the electricity to operate my heat to stay warm and not freeze to death or freeze the water that's sitting in my pipes which maybe damaged due to freezing temperatures, my stove to cook food and eat to stay alive, my refrigerator to keep food from spoiling ( I can technically keep things outside with the temperatures but still the Sun can hit certain things and effect or spoil them and you don't necessarily want to freeze every item that you would normally keep in the refrigerator) the electric pump for my well water which is used for everything! Drinking water for the humans and animals in my home to stay hydrated and alive, showering, cleaning my home, washing dishes, washing clothing, on and on you get it.
      It's really unbelievable! Especially since they know that I'm in the process of obtaining some assistance through a program that will pay off my entire past due balance. But no they couldn't wait. Just shut people off from one of the most important things we have become accustomed to living in this Society we have created. Sure I could go out and live off the land, build shelter, fire, hunt fish and gather for my own food etc etc. I'm pretty good at most of these outdoor survival skills but I'm not quite ready or educated enough to survive for extended periods of time

      Overall and in general I agree with most of your comments here, and it is a fact that every electric company and people who work at them that actually shut off the power to your home do not give a rat's ass about if you freeze to death star but death keep clean or whatever ect...
      I do not care bear heartless and they are totally and completely in the job at there and the position that they carry for a paycheck and the owners of the electric company are in the position that they are in to be Mayan there's an to have the power and say so who doesn't who does not receive electricity due to the back of their behind their bill and I do have that part because they own the company and they're really are no strict laws in effect that should be in effect to help out the citizens that trust our supposed leaders to run our country, not their country but our country, but anyhow, there are no strict laws in place, that need to be in place , in order to preserve the life of our country's citizens. Just to put it simple, they do not care and they are not forced to are they are not forced to help nor give us free anything, , we on the other hand are forced to live without the necessity that we had become accustomed to in order to sustain our lives in the members of our families lives. So sad but extremely very very TRUE.
      However, I do believe there is one law that isn't that in every state in the nation of America when it comes to shutting off someone's electricity due to non-payment, and that law is, there is a time period That legally has to be followed when shutting off someone's electricity service and that time. Is never before 10 a.m. and never after 1 to 2 p.m., every state does have different timing involved especially due to daylight savings times but there is a line affect it says you may not shut someone up after a certain time of the day and never on the weekend as well it must be done through Monday through Thursday or Friday and never on Saturdays never on Sundays it is a highly against the law so I don't see how you were shut off in the middle of the night that doesn't make sense to me.
      Just wanted to note that to you.

    I'm going to throw in another hack for you guys using a drill battery. If you're running on generator power and it stops making electricity but still running. Just take a couple little pieces of wire and hook to the drill battery like he did with the meter and stick it in the the electrical plug on the generator and you'll hear a click then crank it back up and have power again. They call it flashing the generator at a shop to make it sound expensive. What it actually does is when you run the generator out of gas with a load on it that takes that little bit of residual electric field in the winding that it needs to start generating power. All your doing is recharging that and closing a contact . They charge you hundreds of dollars to do this at a shop. I've had people give me good generators because of this after they already brought a new one. After hurricane Ida insurance companies paid for a lot of generators that just got flooded and I just changed the oil and gas hit it with 18 to 20 volts and good as new. God bless!! Hope this helps someone ✌️

How do you think they read your meter without coming out to your house... Hahahahahahahaha Oh, and the power Co. will come out and take the meter away the first time for tampering and put a cover in place of the meter and rubber boots on the terminals. Second time... Police come with the power Co. and you goto JAIL!! So don't listen to these fools making these stupid video's on by-passing the meters to steal power!!

  • @Elfnetdesigns
    @Elfnetdesigns 6 років тому +28

    I actually own my meter (right out bought it from the power company) and I have modified it to shut the mains power OFF during the day while running off solar and turn ON mains power at night when the solar input current drops below an unusable state via a mercury contactor. I can over ride the system with a 3 position keyed switch too if I need mains during the day for running the central A/C if weather is not good for solar use, etc.
    Stealing utilities is stealing utilities, the LAW does not care if there is a disaster in fact they frown upon it very much "Riding the coattails of a natural disaster to justify criminal activity" as they call it here and they hand out pretty stiff fines and jail time for it now.
    One thing you do not know is the power company knows if there is power on a branch and arriving to a property, IF that meter is not sending data bursts they know someone has tampered with it. The meters power is tapped before the internal contactors so disconnecting the metering leads will only alert them to inspect the meter and have police present while doing so.

    I really think if there is a power cut expected to last couple hours (such as line downed by tree) I would take that opportunity to unplug the red and white wire from my meter. I'm not stealing electricity, I am removing their ability to cut my power off at their will. If we have an issue such as unpaid bill, I'm sure somehow they'll get paid, but at least they can't cut my power. Is that legal? Can I force them to keep providing utility when they don't want to? I don't know, but I use medical equipment that relies on electricity, so I'll have to find out what mood the judge is in that day in court.

Carefully strip insulation back from the 2 hot wires( the one without a jacket is the neutral wire and is usually not cut) the wires coming from the pole are still live, do not let them touch each other, touch the bare neutral or touch you except where your insulated gloves are covering. Use a split bolt to connect one set, wrap with rubber tape and the super 33 over that. Repeat for the other wire

This is the most frightening thing you can do, to go pull a meter and manually get it back on. At least I have electricity knowledge, but I would never try it again. It's absolutely stupid,and one wrong move and your dead.
    If I were to hack one of these, I would get a sdr or Wireshark and capture the wifi signal, then with some coding and packet injection send it a sandwich if you know what I'm saying. Don't bother doing this today 2024. You'll have the police at the door.

    Newer meters now have Anti tamper trip switches installed, Usually 2-3 pins at the fixture points so it will send a signal to the company if you even take em off. The large capacitors in there are designed to give the unit power if disconnected so it can still send and receive its parameters over cell data connection. tampering with em is a bad idea. Sorry to tell you that the meter has a mercury tamper switch in it. Jiggle it, the company knows immediately, also, with the smart meter, the millisecond that that made her loses power, the company is notified electronically instantly, and it generates an inspection notice.Then you will be caught,, you get disconnected at the pole then, after you pay a bigger reconnect fee after you have inspections done by the local electrical inspector. You could also be prosecuted for “theft of service “
    It’s not cheaper to run a generator at home when your power shut off either. Your generator will probably use between eight and 12 gallons of gasoline a day. So let’s say 10 gallons a day. Let’s just say four dollars a gallon, 10 gallons equals $40 a day, $280 for a week of running a generator disturbing the whole neighborhood.
    There will always be people that put more effort into avoiding work, than if they simply would just go to work, to make the money, to pay your electric bill, to live like a normal person.

    • @Dewey-wz4ny
      @Dewey-wz4ny 5 років тому

      I agree with most of your comment, but I work at a power company, these meters do not have mercury tamper switches. Everyone stopped using mercury decades ago. The meters call home about every 2 minutes and depending on the power companies programming and alerts, they may or may not notice. If they don't, it's because they are busy or didn't setup up the programming properly. The benefits to the power company of these meters, is they can change your effective rates several times a day or even per hour if needed if the market changes. They're not locked into one fixed price. This way when the market changes they are free to pass the cheaper or more expensive prices on to the customer. One additional thing about these is the punitive effects, they punish the customer for usage during peak periods like early morning and late in the day when everyone gets home from work when electricity rates are typically highest. Electricity pass the costs on to the customers and say "you have more control over your bill" - well sorta. What they don't mention is the $3500 each customer must pay for over time - this is also passed on to the customer and that part of why our electric bill costs has gone up so much. That little circuit board with a network card and mini computer cost a lot, but it shouldn't cost that much. One thing is for sure however, they will record the events in a data log, send it to the power company for future reference and/or prosecution.

    • @implsive6519
      @implsive6519 6 років тому +1

      @motard126 even when the power goes out? They really must be some smart meters to report back in the middle of a multiple day hurricane! Also if you were to disconnect the line input and load output wires from the amp meter sensors on the main relay as suggested they would only be able to tell by the time difference and lack of power used, they can't charge you based solely on the fact your meter didn't report as directed and the meter can't store or report what it doesn't know is happening right inside itself. It's a machine built by regular people out of regular parts. The tech inside a "smart" meter is really just basic ac/dc electrical theory with integrated circuits that have been around over a decade and some the same as they were half a century ago.

Why target the least problematic of all these devises, all of them are a problem that in the sum are just too much energy our body is absorbing every day. If you have taken the meter off, why not just put a jumper across the house terminals?

      Extremely dangerous. Good way to kill a neighbor's curious kid or yourself.

      That would be too easy and wouldn't make a good UA-cam video. Tat Sun and Anonymous, it's not dangerous if it's done right. You don't use jumper cables.

      Micah Watson, Can cause fire 90% of the time if you don't know what your doing. Ive seen ppl get f*cked just by touching a meter with out discharging it.

      Only a little bit risky. Just take 2 copper or brass bars and push them into the meter connectors.
      Just don't short to the meter box! (pole fuse is probably 400A) A pair of lineman's gloves would help of course!.
      The big risk is how much you will be fined when the power company finds out. Best to just pay your electric bill on time so they don't shut you off.

    O,S, those fu@@! Power companies are crooks I had a $800.00 bill for for a 3 bedroom house and and a friend had a bill for $159.00 for a non profit coop power service for a 6 bedroom all electric home?

      Sounds like you need a smart meter they are more accurate than analog meters

      @@sermexflomex1423 my smart meter didn't save me money, the LED lighting and window units did. You can calculate power usage and compare with your bill. It won't be much different in what type of meter you have. Most opt out programs charge a meter read fee. Where I live it's an extra 25 dollars a month to have an analog meter.

      The power company is not responsible for the fucked up condition of YOUR home/appliances/electrical infrastructure you absolute dipshit. I do this for a fucking living and EVERY time it's because some appliance has gone nuts and is sucking power 24/7 and you idiots ALWAYS immediately resort to yelling at some poor lady behind a desk who has nothing to do with it UNTIL I COME OUT THERE AND PROVE IT IN FRONT OF YOUR STUPID FUCKIN ASS.

    Companies can manipulate the meters. Does anyone consider that smart meter allows the power company to speed up your meter! That is why alot of people are saying that smart meters are reading more or faster. Someone should prove that.

    I can understand why you have a personal stake in showing this, since your grand parents house was restored. I would strongly recommend you talk to a lawyer about this video however, since I feel people will use this information to steal power. Perhaps I can help by informing would be thieves that while this method may well work, a completely dead signal is a sure sign that something is wrong. Also, if you are trying to fake a a trickle it won't work. While I am not a papered academic in computer science, even I could code a routine that would ferret out this sort of theivery. Finally, I do want to thank the author of this video since this is invaluable information in an emergency, I am just worried the author could face action for posting it.

      That's a stretch. He clearly states he does not encourage or condone theft of services. He is merely showing how one aspect of one particular meter model works. You can get the same info by googling your meter make and model and getting the manufacturers technical manual on the meter. Their manual gives all the information on how the meter works. So if you are arguing conspiracy for this youTuber, then all manufacturers of all smart meters are similarly liable. Not.

      Technically that would give the power companies tons of new money from fines and what not. Sure they won't mind.
