The closed loop area is the portion of the fuel map (throttle position vs. engine speed) that cannot be adjusted. For the California-regulated version, you cannot modify that portion of the fuel map. -DrewZilla
What if you changed the air filter and full exhaust on a Yamaha r3 and didn't put one of these in. For a weekend worrier? Would it be the end of the world? Not sure I'd notice I huge difference if I don't race it would I? Would it hurt the bike if I don't do this? Much appreciated any info.
It really depends on the exhaust and air filter. While most Akrapovic and Scorpion exhausts are designed to be run with the stock tune, most full exhausts require a fuel controller. In addition to the exhaust, changing to a freer-flowing air filter will make the bike run leaner. This means the bike will run hotter, which is not good for engine life. If you increase air flow with an exhaust and air filter, you also need to increase fuel, so that you maintain an ideal air/fuel ratio. If you aren't going to install a Power Commander, though, then there's no need to change your air filter. An exhaust that doesn't require a fuel controller can still run even better when a fuel controller is added. Our very own Lemmy has written a few articles on the subject, so you may want to take a look. Hope this helps! -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/akrapovic-racing-gp-exhaust-system-yamaha-r3-2015 *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/akrapovic-racing-exhaust-systems-yamaha-r3-2015-2016 *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/scorpion-serket-taper-exhaust-system-yamaha-r3-2015 *www.revzilla.com/common-tread/motorcycle-exhaust-101 *www.revzilla.com/common-tread/fuel-management-101

The Power Commander is a piggyback system, so it takes the stock ECU signal input and sends a modified output according to the fuel map that's loaded on it. If you have the stock fuel map loaded on the Power Commander, it won't change anything. -DrewZilla
For the Power Commander, yes, it can be taken off a bike and used on another bike that's the same make/year/model. You can't take it off a Honda and put on on a Yamaha or take it off a CBR600RR and put it on a CBR1000RR. It has to be the same model of bike and be within the compatible model years. It's not a 'universal' item. Additionally, remember that it only modifies the bike's ECU as long as it is attached. Once removed, you're back to the stock ECU tune. -DrewZilla
Yeah, as you can see from the link below, the compatible Power Commander only fits 2014 to 2019 Sportsters, so you can't take a pre-2014 Power Commander. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dynojet-power-commander-v-for-harley-sportster-883-2014-2019

Can you guys do a video on the power commander fuel controller. I'm still confused on the 1 to 10 dial on the selector, does it choose maps or does it change how much fuel is going in?
+kiddeath921 The potentiometer all the way to the left labeled BASE allows you to select from the 10 pre-loaded maps (you can also load your own from the software). The LOW, MID, and HIGH potentiometers allow +/- fuel adjustment for those 3 general RPM ranges. My question is. did i need to get Dynojet Auto Tune Kit and Dynojet Power Commander and which one i should get is Single Channel AT-200 or Dual Channel AT-300 thank you from KSA
You would need a Power Commander for a full system but probably not Auto Tune. If you did want Auto Tune, though, the R6 is a single channel system. -DrewZilla
I’ve owned a new Kawasaki Z900RS for a couple of months and I see you’ve got a PC5 for it. I don’t want to change the exhaust or intake because I like it as it is, but will PC5 fix the snatchy throttle problem some Z900RS are having, including mine? Will it fix the lean running, although for that last question imagine it’s a yes. It looks like you only have one map for it as well at the moment. For a standard bike like mine, I guess it wouldn’t really need a run on the dyno?
The Power Commander 5 should help with the snatchy throttle, even on a stock bike, as that seems to be a result of the really lean fueling right off idle. You can also improve lean fueling overall. It wouldn't need a dyno. -DrewZilla
I'm pretty sure i'm going to buy a pcv for my 2017 honda grom. I went on the website like you said and looked at the maps and i'm not sure which is the best map for me. I only see 7 options. On my bike, I removed the air box snorkels, replaced the stock air filter with a K&N air filter, added the velocity stack, and added a full zoom exhaust. Any suggestions?
Unfortunately, since that bike is not available in the US, Dynojet (at least as far as we carry) does not produce a Power Commander for it. -TeamZilla Chris
You know we can't provide a definitive answer on that. I mean, if law enforcement pulls you over, are they going to remove your seat, fairings, or tank to be able to even see the Power Commander to determine its legality? -DrewZilla

I'm just curious, I saw on eBay a power commander for a klx 125 2010. But the thing is, is that that bike has a carb instead of fuel injectors. The carb itself is an electronic one, and my question is. Will it still work ?
Will this help with the jerkiness of the Mt09 throttle? Can this be used as an alternative for the ecu flash? Also, Will it help avoiding the danger of engine blowing up while running lean, like it does in stock configurations?
It can help a bit with the throttle jerkiness, and it can be used as an alternative to the ECU flash. Additionally, yes, you can run the bike richer to avoid the heat from running lean. -DrewZilla
You definitely can! The units for your bike are available here: www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dynojet-power-commander-v-honda-cbr1000rr-2004-2007 www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dynojet-auto-tune-kit-for-power-commander-v That said, you would need to install an 18mm O2 sensor on your exhaust, which does require drilling and welding. We have the bung you would need here: www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/drag-specialties-weld-in-o2-sensor-bungs?sku_id=1215875 However, for standard street use you should really be fine just using the Power Commander and a good map, rather than going through all that trouble to add the AutoTune feature. -Zack
+Chase Mason Yes, that's a problem. Power Commanders are bike-specific. You can't use a PC3 for Yamaha on a Kawasaki. Also, you can't use a PC3 for an R6 on an R1. Additionally, once paired to a bike, it cannot be used on another bike. For a 2012 ZX6R, you would need the following Power Commander V. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dynojet-power-commander-v-for-kawasaki-zx6r-2009-2012

No, the map is saved to the Power Commander. When you remove the Power Commander from the bike, the map stays with the Power Commander. Without the Power Commander, your bike still has its stock fuel mapping. -DrewZilla
Thanks RevZilla! I took it off because I was having problems with my bike, father in law thought it was the PC3, but I found the issue on youtube. It was the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) and it was fixed under warranty. Hence the question about the maps.
It depends on how your dyno tuner tunes bikes. Without a Power Commander, a dyno tune would be flashed to your stock ECU, replacing your stock fuel map. With a Power Commander, a dyno tune is saved to the Power Commander, so your stock ECU is not modified. -DrewZilla
So is there a specific model for each bike? ie. If I have a PC on a bike and I sell that bike, I can't just configure it for the new bike and install it? And does the Autotune mean I don't need to download any maps at all? Thanks for your help!
There is a specific model for each bike, so you cannot configure it for a different model bike. As for autotune, it allows you to make adjustments to a map, so you still have to download a map to use as a starting point. -DrewZilla

I just added a Cobra slip on and air filter to my 2014 Stryker. The popping from exhaust isn't too bad, but I feel hotter than normal heat from under right thigh. That won't work. A Power Commander for an R1 won't work for a ZX6R, as they have totally different connections. If you had the same model R1, then you could use it on another R1. -DrewZilla
No doesnt affect those modes. Do you mean power modes or traction? Wouldnt affect traction. And on power modes you could make different maps for eaxh mode.

With the K&N filter, you're likely running the engine leaner. To be safe, I'd just run the OEM filter, so that you don't need a Power Commander. -DrewZilla
+mark maguire Are you referring to the YZF125R street bike? If so, there's a Power Commander "PCFC", but it's not available to us here in the US. -DrewZilla
Hi! PC5 with Autotune, will that take care of varying altitudes, barometric pressure? I have a Ninja 300 with LV GP Corsa slipon. I download the map from Dynojet, is that all? I dont like messing around with the maps, hence my understanding is auto tune would do that for me. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Chinmay Kar There are a few different configurations available. When you have a few minutes, give our Gear Geek, Mario, a call at 1-877-792-9455. He will walk you through the in's and out's of the PC5 and Auto Tune. -Hi-Viz Brian
I know this is late, but for any people who have anything under 600cc's with a slip on you really don't need to waste the money on all this. You will see very MINIMAL gains, just not worth it. I had a ninja 300 when they first came out. Got the full yoshi r77, KN air filter street and just a mail in flash. Honestly the bike ran better with the stock exhaust and with each mod I really didn't notice a big enough difference to justify the cost. When I had my 09 750 that was stock and just added a KN air filter I noticed a big difference, especially with a flash and full exhaust compared to the slip on, cat delete before the full system, after the filter. My 17 gsxr 750 didn't notice much of a difference with the air filter this time, full yoshi- big difference. Higher cc bikes you will really get your money's worth if you build a bike for what you want to do with it.
I have an z800 -14 with ixil slip-on and kn airfilter. do you recomend pc5 on that setup and if do you have an or know were i can get an map suitable for that setup? my wallet only allows a pc5 and not a dyno since that is horrible expensive here in sweden XD
Yes, I do recommend a Power Commander V(5) for you. Since the Ixil is a very open exhaust, I'd recommend trying the 17-048-502 Euro model HP Racing Slip-On (baffle removed) map. For even better tuning, you could add the Power Commander Auto-Tune module. -DrewZilla
The Power Commander 5 is made by Dynojet. Bazzaz makes the Z-Fi. You may want to check again to be sure which one you have. If you have a Dynojet Power Commander 5, then you can use a Dynojet Quickshifter with it. -DrewZilla

I am adding the PC-5 with the Auto-Tune and the POD-300 Module. (and maybe the Stacks and the butterflies modifications)
Will that be all I need for a strong and consistent Street Bike -- and lots of mtn. twisties -- or do I also need the Ignition Module, or LCD Digital.. ?
Even with the 10% discount atm it is $504 in Australian money going to have to wait a few months XD
Is it worth it for a 125cc
Thinking about getting one for my 2013 Suzuki M109R, any concerns and or issues I should be aware of? also I have never used a power commander on any previous bikes, any tips and tricks would be appreciated as well. Thanks!
+Jake Zeadow No, you shouldn't have any issues. If the bike is stock, we'd recommend the stock improved map. If you have an aftermarket exhaust and/or air filter, you would download the appropriate map for those modifications. -DrewZilla

Too bad... For the sv650 2017 there's only a stock map on the website..
2004 cbr1000rr I need to get one
I cant find a power commander for my Cb125f. Any help pliz?
That bike isn't sold here in the US, so we don't have a Power Commander for it. They don't even list it on their site. -DrewZilla
Carb bike yo
Awesome video.
What does this mean?
"PCV does NOT allow adjustment of the closed loop area on this model." ?
-DrewZilla

Hello! Thanks for the reply. Yeah it's an Akrapovic , full exhaust. I recently had a K&N filter I put in but after reading some things online, took it back out not long after and replaced with the stock one.
Sounds good! Having the Akrapovic with stock air filter means you don't need a Power Commander. -DrewZilla
Why do you guys only have up to 2013 models for a Ducati streetfighter 848 and no 2014??
Dynojet only lists compatibility for 2012 and 2013 model years for the Streetfighter 848, so that's the compatibility we list on our site. -DrewZilla
Will this make my s1000rr bmw smoother in deep traffic for comuting..my 18 model is not very smooth under 4 thousand a little jerky . needle jumps around a little too . it's not horsepower I want.
I cant see Suzaki Z400 Quad in - Select your bike - option. However, does PC V works for Stock Z400?
Mohamed Alkaabi Although Dynojet makes a Power Commander specifically for the Suzuki King Quad 400, we do not carry Power Commanders for quads/ATVs at this time. -DrewZilla
Do you ship to Indonesia ?
+Akasaka Verrian Yes, we do ship to Indonesia. Shipping cost depends on size, weight, and value. Some brands may not be shipped to certain destinations due to manufacturer restrictions. If you have selected an item that cannot be shipped internationally, we will inform you in the checkout process on our site. Please see our International Orders Page (rvz.la/intl-order) for more details. -DrewZilla
What happens if you have a PC Commander installed on your bike but you never tune it up?
The Power Commander is a piggyback system, so it takes the stock ECU signal input and sends a modified output according to the fuel map that's loaded on it. If you have the stock fuel map loaded on the Power Commander, it won't change anything. -DrewZilla
There’s only 1 map for my bike and it’s just for a stock bike
Once used Can I use it on another bike that I buy?
For the Power Commander, yes, it can be taken off a bike and used on another bike that's the same make/year/model. You can't take it off a Honda and put on on a Yamaha or take it off a CBR600RR and put it on a CBR1000RR. It has to be the same model of bike and be within the compatible model years. It's not a 'universal' item. Additionally, remember that it only modifies the bike's ECU as long as it is attached. Once removed, you're back to the stock ECU tune. -DrewZilla
@@RevZilla dang I was going to buy one off of a older Sportster to put on my 2015 Sportster.

Power Commander has a nice intro video linked below. -DrewZilla

So it doesnt work with engine coolant sensors , O2 sensors and doesnt even give spark timing adjustments?

theoretically what can a power commander and new air filter do to a Ducati Hypermotard SP 2019?

Flushing the ECU vs power commander. which one is cheaper?
Jerry have you figerd it out I was wonder the same thing.
No if you want your ecu flashed go to vcyclenut.com and does it for only 60 bucks.

When you remove the Power Commander from the motorcycle, the motorcycle returns to being stock with the stock factory map. -DrewZilla
Recently i bought yamaha R6 2017 .. there is a@ scissor port, but there is no cable attached is that an issue ?.
i install two brother slip-on from your website. my plan for next upgrade is installing a full system.
-DrewZilla
Does it affect fuel efficiency ??
Yes it can affect fuel efficiency depending on the the fuel map you use and the other modifications you have.
I'd try 16-049-003 first then 16-049-004 and 16-049-006 to see which works best. -DrewZilla
Basically HP Tuners for motorcycles👍
Can it be used on Yamaha R25? Currently living in Malaysia. THANKS
Unfortunately, since that bike is not available in the US, Dynojet (at least as far as we carry) does not produce a Power Commander for it. -TeamZilla Chris
Now is there any way to know if this is illegal let’s say if you got pulled over in ca?
You would have to check your local laws. -DrewZilla
RevZilla hah not really what I asked but I understand. I was curious if law enforcement can tell if installed or not
You know we can't provide a definitive answer on that. I mean, if law enforcement pulls you over, are they going to remove your seat, fairings, or tank to be able to even see the Power Commander to determine its legality? -DrewZilla
RevZilla I understand. Thank you for the reply. I’m lookin into one

Is a dyno tune necessary after install?
If Dynojet has a fuel map for you to download for your bike, then no, you do not need a dyno tune. -DrewZilla
If you make lots of changes, air intake, full system or cat delete, quick shifter etc...only a dyno tune can get the most accurate set up for it
I cant find my 2015 Yamaha xt250 on the site but I went on a different site that sells them and it said it would fit.
Foulerstone 575 You would need the "Power Commander Fuel Controller" (not the Power Commander V), but the specific part number FC22902 isn't carried by our Dynojet distributor currently. -DrewZilla

I have a Question about PC-3 to Suzuki Gsxr: the 600 K3 has the Part Number 307-411, the 750 K3 309-411, the K1 1000 308-411, does the Power Commander from 750 or 1000 fit to 600?
No, they are bike-specific. The Power Commanders for the 750 and 1000 do not fit the 600. -DrewZilla

I'm just curious, I saw on eBay a power commander for a klx 125 2010. But the thing is, is that that bike has a carb instead of fuel injectors. The carb itself is an electronic one, and my question is.
Will it still work ?
No, this is only for fuel-injected bikes. If the bike has a carburetor, it won't work at all. -DrewZilla
RevZilla Okay, thanks
Hahaha, well, the only other vehicle I can drive legally is a 50cc, and why would I do that ?
Yeah, but um, I'm not old enough to drive anything more powerfull than a 125 cc bike (alone)
-DrewZilla
I was wondering if i can put autotune plus the commander 5 on my 05 cbr 1000rr
You definitely can! The units for your bike are available here:

www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dynojet-auto-tune-kit-for-power-commander-v

www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/drag-specialties-weld-in-o2-sensor-bungs?sku_id=1215875
However, for standard street use you should really be fine just using the Power Commander and a good map, rather than going through all that trouble to add the AutoTune feature.

they make a air/fuel ratio gauge does that plug in the the power Commander I have a auto tune with a o2 sensor
No, that device does not plug into the Power Commander unfortunately. -DrewZilla
I have a 2006 r6 with a pc3 that I'm stripping and plan on putting it on my 2012 zx6r. Would I have any problems with this?
+Chase Mason Yes, that's a problem. Power Commanders are bike-specific. You can't use a PC3 for Yamaha on a Kawasaki. Also, you can't use a PC3 for an R6 on an R1. Additionally, once paired to a bike, it cannot be used on another bike. For a 2012 ZX6R, you would need the following Power Commander V. -DrewZilla

If I have a powercommander with a map, then unplug it from the bike, will I have to reload the map again?
No, the map is saved to the Power Commander. When you remove the Power Commander from the bike, the map stays with the Power Commander. Without the Power Commander, your bike still has its stock fuel mapping. -DrewZilla
Thanks RevZilla! I took it off because I was having problems with my bike, father in law thought it was the PC3, but I found the issue on youtube. It was the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) and it was fixed under warranty. Hence the question about the maps.
Changing the exhaust doesn't warrant adding a power commander or flashing the ecu.the bike don't run lean from the factory. its just something the
They say to try selling their shit
Do I need it for dyno?
It depends on how your dyno tuner tunes bikes. Without a Power Commander, a dyno tune would be flashed to your stock ECU, replacing your stock fuel map. With a Power Commander, a dyno tune is saved to the Power Commander, so your stock ECU is not modified. -DrewZilla
RevZilla I m flashing stock ECU anyway and doing full exhaust system upgrade. Won't do any other performance mods after that.
-DrewZilla
RevZilla Great, thanks for replying. One more thing on the Autotune. How should I determine the Air Fuel Ratio value for it to aim for? Thanks again!
I am setting up Two Brother exhaust full system to my Vulcan S 650 2016. Is it will fit for my case ?

Will the plug and ride fuel commanders like Cobra PowerPro Black and Dobeck work as good as the ones where you have to adjust and tune yourself? I just added a Cobra slip on and air filter to my 2014 Stryker. The popping from exhaust isn't too bad, but I feel hotter than normal heat from under right thigh. What's the best fuel commander you'd recommend for my ride?
This is a bit specific to answer in the UA-cam comments. I would recommend giving our Gear Geeks a call at 877.792.9455 or email them at cs@revzilla.com and they can run through every option we offer for your bike and find the best match for your exhaust issue. Ride safe, - Pat

-DrewZilla
