At first look, I didn't think that it was too bad, simply because the player fell into his forearm. However, after watching the replay, there was no reason for his forearm to be in that spot. Ioane is clearly falling from the tackle at least a good second before Vaea comes in, and his head is already pretty low. While Ioane did fall into it, Vaea definitely had time to recognize that and react, and is taking a huge risk going for that tackle.
@nomygod1 Because being knocked out isn't an exact science lol, people are affected differently. He was out for 2 minutes, no responsible sport would allow someone to try to play again after being out cold for 2 minutes. Digby had a face fracture just a few weeks ago. These guys are all tough but sometimes something happens. An american arena football player died from being kneed in the head, others get hit like that all the time and nothing happens. Severity of an injury isn't obvious at first.
High tackle and he lead with the arm to the head/neck area. Even if the head had not dropped, it would still have been high, It was not as bad as Xavier Rush red card but the incident was similar enough to warrent a yellow card and maybe more. Look at how much lower the 5 went to tackle. The 8 was not set for a low tackle and ended up taking the player out in a very dangerous way.
@nomygod1 its all about your brains ability to recover from big jolts like that. odrisscoll could have just got lucky and his brain wasnt affected to much by the impact in terms of unconciousness. no matter how hard you are or how much punishment you can take, if your brain decides to swithc off. you out for the count
The commentator keeps saying that it was cause the brumbie dude broke his jaw....dude clearly its due to the suspense hit around the brain's temple...its called concussion...durhhh! but very sad for Digby... I hope he remebered where his car was parked after the game. hahah

there was really no malice in that attempt to tackle digby i mean it was always gonna look worse in slow motion, but if you compare this to league swinging forearm tackles league is much worse.
these aussie commentaters are one eyed arnt they? you cant time your tackle perfectly in tackles, things go quickly in this game. they're making it ita did it intentionly. accidents always happen in rugby

sure it wasn't intentional but the suspension is correct. you can't run in to tackle someone with your arms at stretched out at head height

i see nothing wrong with tackle, the reason it ended up looking bad was because he was taken around the legs and then lowered to the arm.
