I can not believe I just got 5 out of 5 without watching this video, the quiz had unlimited attempts so I figured I would just see if I was understanding it......NAILED IT!
I find it easier to instead of multiplying by d squared on each side, I just used the 1 from the E and the 1 from the 4pi to cancel each other out. So for example with question 4 I just did 4= 1/1xd2 and crossed out both the ones to get 4 = d2 and that point you square root either side and get 2 as the answer to d. It made more sense for me to think it that way, I know that your explanation came from the same thought process, but just saying that brightness is related to distance confused me a bit. Working it out from the equation was easier, and deciding to multiply each side by distance just seemed impractical and overly confusing.
