No one has better explained this in a way that makes it simple to understand. That’s just my opinion. 👍

First I was told aiki is redirecting the attack as in parries but was told that is just jujutsu. Then I was told aiki was magic and laughed. Now you are saying aiki is kuzushi or destroy his stance. Interesting how there are many different explanations or as you say overly broad terms.

Aiki is all of those things. And many have tried to define it many different ways. What it is is according to my understanding is the unforced connection of the two bodies so that movement in one results in movement in the other.. the correct movement maintains connection and thus control and the incorrect movement loses the connection and the control.

@@themartialwaynga Sir, I looked up the definition on Aikido, in terms of Ai and Ki both have a fairly comprehensive description. Such as Ai is "unite/combine/join together", "talk/discussion/negotiation", "mutual agreement", etc. Ki, has mostly to do with the martial arts power, electricity, etc. But can also be temperament, emotions, etc. "Therefore, from a purely literal interpretation, aikido is the "Way of combining forces" or "Way of unifying energy"." All of this is from wikipedia. I'll also ask my Sensei. I did Aikido about 25 years ago for a short time, stopped, and just recently picked it up again at my advanced age. Shodokan, I'm learning under a 3rd Dan who also has quite a lot of Aikijutsu, Judo, and others. Absolutely great. Love the video, thank you.

I'd like to see that theory put into practice, all I'm seeing is someone explaining his techniques with a dummy.

감사합니다. 캘리그라피가 서툰 건 알지만 친한 친구가 만들어서 선물해줬어요. 그래서 가치는 붓놀림의 질에 있는 것이 아닙니다.
