Great review! I also gave a 4.5/5, and it's either my 2nd or 3rd favorite movie of 2024. It will be hard to top Deadpool & Wolverine. Also liked Twisters.
I absolutely loved this one. I was thinking that the wife was gonna be in on it. And she was just playing dumb so the kids would still have a parent. I rooted for Cooper the whole time. And I wanted him to off Lady Raven! 😂
You've talked me into watching when it comes to streaming so I can fast forward past the Aaliyah / FKA Twigs music with vocal fry. I'm allergic to music like this 😂
I loved Trap. I am happy for M. Night with this film. I know Ashley that his films can be a hit or a miss but I still get something out of all of them because I think about where he is taking me. I own them all and still go back to them often. So glad you both enjoyed it. Yes it’s a stretch at times but this guy has been getting away with this for years. But a good old wife finally feels something is up with him. 👍🙂
As a huge Dexter and Hit-man fan, this film was made for me; Copper is so much like Dexter. Definitely had a blast with this in theaters and so did my theater audience who were laughing and clapping when it ended. It’s a 4.5/5 film for me and one of my favorites of the year! Also, the merch guy was funny
@@SledgehammerHorrorRight!? When I saw your high rating I was like, “damnit Ken now most likely I’m gonna be let down by it. You couldn’t hate this movie for me?” Trap is one of those rare movies we both really enjoy
Bro we almost had a Ken Sledge beat down at our theater. These punk kids (I have never seen this before) were either FaceTiming or playing a video or something that was absurdly loud during the trailer and the beginning of the move. I turn to my friend and was like will I get in trouble if I throw their phones. lol never been to a movie with people so clueless and blatant
I ordered my ticket a week early, so I was starting to regret it yesterday when I started reading and watching the mixed to negative reviews. I stuck with it, though, and went through with going to a 7pm show tonight, and I was pleasantly surprised. SPOILERS: The reviewers who claimed that half the movie was concert footage that was just there for filler material, were a little off on that, because in between the songs were parts where Cooper would disappear, first asking t-shirt vendor Jamie why there was so much police presence, or try to explore means of escape. Also, some of the reviewers have been saying Saleeka's acting was terrible, but I disagree. I think she did an adequate-to-good job. She had a really good scene where Cooper tells Lady Raven what he'll do if she alerts police or anybody else, and you could see the compassion and concern in her eyes, and she was on the verge of tears. I also loved it when she used social media to get her fans to help her. Overall, I enjoyed the movie, and would give it at least a 4 out of 5, 8 out of 10 score.
3/5 for me, it’s gonna be interesting to rewatch this overtime especially the last 40 minutes. I’ll always appreciate M.Night for giving us unique spins on certain genres. He’s not perfect but when wants to be, he delivers. Great review
I’m glad you guys liked the movie but for me it was just okay. The first half was good and tense but the second half fell off with all the dialogue and logic issues it had in order to move to plot forward. M knights daughter had a great voice and stage presence but in terms of an actor she didn’t do it for me when she was supposed to carry the second half to the film . The premise hooked me but once again I was fooled by an M knight trailer…2.5/5 I do think Josh Hartnet could make a good joker
I think it’s really neat I keep coming down on the opposite side of you two on a few of these reviews. That’s what makes horror so fun and great. For me this was the most disappointing film of the year. There are some good elements, specifically the wold premise, Josh Harnett’s performance and the chemistry between him and Ariel Donoghue. But I don’t enjoy the Shyamalan dialogue which again makes an appearance, the fact that it feels like a project built around promoting Saleka’s music career, and that ending…amongst several other things. I just felt this was a massive missed opportunity. It should have been an easy win and it just feels flat. I’m glad though that you both enjoyed it, much respect and love the review
Great review guys❤
Thank you!

Still gotta see those, I REALLY want too.

I wanted him to off the mom at the concert lol.

It's not really my thing either, but it's amazing how they work it into the film.

I agree, I see A LOT of people that absolutely hated it, Much respect, but just blows me away.
Looking forward to it's release on Blu Ray over here. Great review as always guys 😊🐾💜👋👍

I can't wait to watch it again to be honestly.

I love how indifferent this movie is, another reason I love the genre so much.

2.5/5 for me. Even though I really wanted to rate it lower. 🤣 Btw Slay (Tubi) and Longlegs are my favorites of the year so far
@@podcastinthewoods1923have you watched oddity?

You'll love it.
It's so funny cause everyone we know didn't like this lol.
Wow maybe I’m on an island lol I hated this movie 😂
From the looks of it I'm alone lol.
