My theory: The stage, The Ruins of Arc Polaris, has warning signs of a bear in the area. Interestingly, those signs are in English, thus made before humans went extinct. What if humans attempted to escape the earth with the Arc Polaris, but since the bear was terrorising the area, they caught it. After that, they decided to take it with them, and put it into stasis. But clear from the stage, their escape didn't work out. Many years later, the bear, which became Mr. Grizz, awoke from stasis, and is trying to get the Arc Polaris up and running with the golden eggs.
I always thought that Mr.Grizzco actually has evil intentions somehow. After you finish the normal story mode, Callie and Marie can be spoken to and will say a lot of different things. One of their statements is your average number of golden eggs collected per work session. After complimenting you Marie says that You have to wonder what Mr. Grizzco does with all these golden eggs. It’s pretty fishy if you ask me.(pun not intended) This makes me wonder if Mr. Grizzco will be the main villain in the eventual Splatoon 3.
I think it would be cool if you team up with the salmonids to take down Mr. Grizz, though that's highly unlikely to happen, especially with the recent splatoon 3 salmon run trailer

As we don't know who Mr. Grizz actually is, it could be plausible that he is the one fueling the war between octarians and inklings. Maybe his story could be explored deeper in Splatoon 3 if there is going to be one.
Perhaps Mr. Grizz could end the war already, but he's choosing not to because that count greatly impact his business. After all, he is practically living off of golden eggs.

How has a cat, who before Splatoon has tended to have a lifespan of 20 years, lived for 2000 or more after he awoke? Either he somehow obtained extremely long life, or he's been cloning himself all this time. The overlaps of Judds probably isn't long enough to notice in the historical record before the Lil' Judd is old enough to look like adult Judd and start doing the judging job full time.

Vasko I have made a discovery that I would like to share. Inklings do not die when in contact with water. Let me explain. The game has never officially told us that inklings die in contact with water, but instead we are treated to signs of what looks like a squid drowning. Another piece of evidence is the fact that inklings have a drowning animation when they fall in water, instead of just dissolving immediately. And that leads me to another myth: How are inklings splatted? My guess is that they have a device to send them back to spawn whenever they are in danger to get them out. After all, Splatoon takes place thousands of years after humans go extinct. Just thought I would say this and maybe it may inspire you to look into more Splatoon lore and anatomy. (also when I say inkling, it applies to octolings as well)

Splatoon 3: The inklings have managed to create artificial zapfish thanks to Mr Grizz, and the relationship between Octarians and Inklings has greatly improved as a result. The octarians are allowed to have some of the zapfish to power their tech. However, the salmonids catch wind about these results and begin war on the 2 species. (I just wanted to connect the lore a bit, because all the Splatoon lore is kind of split apart with few links in between. I wanted to include the octo expansion ideas here as well, but I don't know a place for them that would fit into another game)

ive had this idea that mr. grizz is an ex-agent who failed on a mission where he had to go to either of the salmon run locations, and was recovered afterwards but due to the stress he was exposed at the time when he was trapped with the salmonids, he started the company to have the eggs collected and sells them to the octarians/octolings. i also believe that the genetic tests you mentioned in the video couldve been done by the octarians/octolings, because when we start playing octo expansion, we see that the protagonists of that story float in some kind of murky water, that looks like the stuff in sci-fi movies when clones are held in test tubes. its highly likely that the facility in which the octolings had to undergo tests is the same facility in which theyd test on the eggs. cant wait for your next part! :^)

Considering the Maws are the female of the Salmonids, it is certain that they lay the eggs, and the golden eggs that males place them on are used for fertilization. This explains why they are so valuable, as they are necessary to further the next generation. It is possible that certain conditions cause the eggs to hatch into males or females. Males become their species parent (or a new breed through the 70 year migration) or as a female, a baby Maws so to speak.
At the announcment of the Octo Expansion, there were rumours about that you will find out about what happens to the golde Eggs and who Mr Grizz is. Everybody thought that, but it was just a scene were you get the Thang
My original theory was that me grizz is capn cuttlefish because the sound very similar, and in a secret scroll it says he was off doing research at the cape, which remember that the salmon run maps are all off the coast of inkopolis. Along with the fact that salmonids trade eggs for tech with octarians, maybe he started the grizzco program to further his research. On top of everything he probably made an audio recording to handle the radio so he could actually do his experiments, which can show how cuttlefish was away in deep sea metro while mr grizz was still on the radio. And in October expansion you learn that he and agent 3 were on mount nantai when they were abducted in a battle with agent 8, and considering that it is said that mount nantai is close to October valley, maybe he was looking into the trade agreements between salmonids and octarians. Sorry for making this so long but this is all my thoughts on the topic.
I love that in order to figure all this out, Nintendo would have had to actually think about how the goldies and their eggs make sense in the Splatoon world and our world (yes ik they're the same world)

I have a theory: the workers eat the normal eggs and mr. Grizz eats the golden eggs. I mean hey, fish eat other fish! And,,, mr. Grizz is a BEAR. BEARS eat fish.
i’ve always thought that maybe Mr Grizz is a goldie that was freed by the Calamari Inkantation, and he needs the golden eggs to build an army against something... sinister, that we’ll see in Splatoon 3.

Considering the Maws are the female of the Salmonids, it is certain that they lay the eggs, and the golden eggs that males place them on are used for fertilization. This explains why they are so valuable, as they are necessary to further the next generation. It is possible that certain conditions cause the eggs to hatch into males or females. Males become their species parent (or a new breed through the 70 year migration) or as a female, a baby Maws so to speak.
At the announcment of the Octo Expansion, there were rumours about that you will find out about what happens to the golde Eggs and who Mr Grizz is. Everybody thought that, but it was just a scene were you get the Thang

Kind of a weird theory, but I'll buy it, I'll buy it. I hope they explore Mr. Grizz's story in Splatoon 3
My original theory was that me grizz is capn cuttlefish because the sound very similar, and in a secret scroll it says he was off doing research at the cape, which remember that the salmon run maps are all off the coast of inkopolis. Along with the fact that salmonids trade eggs for tech with octarians, maybe he started the grizzco program to further his research. On top of everything he probably made an audio recording to handle the radio so he could actually do his experiments, which can show how cuttlefish was away in deep sea metro while mr grizz was still on the radio. And in October expansion you learn that he and agent 3 were on mount nantai when they were abducted in a battle with agent 8, and considering that it is said that mount nantai is close to October valley, maybe he was looking into the trade agreements between salmonids and octarians. Sorry for making this so long but this is all my thoughts on the topic.

No, he uses the Great Zapfish to power the rocket. He uses golden eggs to create Fuzzy Ooze. How they are used to make Fuzzy Ooze is unknown, but the Alterna Logs says that he needs them to mass produce it for his plan to bring back mammals.
